Ohio man uses Kik to trade child porn of his own kids

kik

Previously I’ve posted about how both pedophiles and sex offenders say that the messaging app Kik is one of the big weapons in their child luring arsenal. It appears to be popular with child pornographers too,

In Springfield Township, Ohio, an unnamed man has been arrested for allegedly using Kik to share child porn of his own teenage children.

The article states that he sent the pictures to both adults and minors so it makes me wonder if he was using his own kids to find other victims.

Now I’m not saying that Kik should be driven out of business or anything like that. Kik is just a tool but it’s the way that others use that too that you should be aware of in order to better protect your kids.

Kansas creeper sentenced on Omegle child porn charges

Kyle B. Rains (obviously lacking in the B. Rains department)

Kyle B. Rains (obviously lacking in the B. Rains department)

31-year-old Kyle B. Rains of Park City, Kansas, was sentenced to almost 14 years in prison for distributing child porn on the webcam chat site Omegle. (Click here to catch up on what Omegle is.) Rains was streaming child porn videos on Omegle that contained scenes of a toddler being raped. He would then find young biys to target on Omegle.

Once again I have to bring up that one of the more popular searches to find this site is “Will I be arrested from Omegle?” or many one of its variants. That answer continues to be yes as once again the National Center For Missing and Exploited children (NCMEC) were contacted by Omegle when they discovered Rains’ child porn.

What makes me even more mad about this story is that there were young boys on Omegle for him to target. If you allow your kids to have a webcam in their room unattended you’re leaving an unguarded open window to your kids for every sick predator on the internet to use.

Ark. suspect accused of exchanging explicit pics with a 12-year-old girl on Kik

James Warren Breedlove

James Warren Breedlove

Do you want another cautionary tale about why you should check the apps your kids are using? Too bad, you’re getting one anyway.

In Bentonville, Arkansas, police arrested 52-year-old James Warren Breedlove for allegedly possessing child porn. Police in Bentonville were contacted by police in Wadsworth, Ohio, when parents there discovered that their 12-year-old daughter had exchanged nude pictures with Breedlove over the messaging app Kik.

Further investigation of Breedlove showed that he also communicated with a 16-year-old girl from Ireland, a 14-year-old girl in Illinois and an 11-year-old girl in Georgia. In total police believe that Breedlove received explicit photos from 10 underage victims.

I’ll keep saying it until I have a reason not to anymore. Check what apps are on your kids’ devices and check who is on their friends list on these apps. If you’re not paying attention the predators are.

NCMEC reports Kik child porn perv to police

James Miller

James Miller

As I have posted before the Kik messaging app is a tool of the trade for pedophiles and predators. Not only is it used by predators to groom and lure kids but it’s also used by child porn purveyors to trade child porn among them. That’s not to say that Kik isn’t actively reporting such activity.

For example there is 40-year-old James Miller of Lincoln, Arkansas. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip that child porn was allegedly being traded through Kik which led to Miller’s arrest. A lot of times the NCMEC receives these tips from the website’s or app’s administrators as they have in the past from sites like Tumblr and Omegle.

So if you’re a predator or child porn perv don’t think that you’re not being watched or the app or website won’t report you because they will.

RI RSO caught using Kik to corrupt teen

kik

24-year-old Joseph Oakes of Coventry, Rhode Island, was recently arrested for ‘having a sexual relationship’ with a 14-year-old girl. Not surprisingly, Oakes was using the messaging app Kik to communicate with his victim. Kik has previously been called a tool of the trade by an admitted pedophile.

The problem with Oakes being on Kik is that he’s on probation for a 2011 child porn arrest and according to the terms of the probation he’s not supposed to be on the internet.

I still can’t stress this enough that as a parent you need to not only know which apps your kids are using but who’s on their friends list. Even a tiny device like a smart phone can leave a huge open widow to your kids.

Man sentenced for sex chats with teen that started on Omegle

Marckenson Chery

Marckenson Chery

Everyone’s favorite anonymous webcam chat site is back in the news again. 29-year-old Marckenson Chery, of North Lauderdale, Florida, was recently sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for having explicit web cam shows with a 15-year-old girl. Chery met the girl on Omegle and continued the shows using Skype.

Now here’s why I keep saying that parents should be aware of what apps are on their kids’ phones, tablets and PC’s…

By the time the girl’s father became suspicious and confiscated her phone about two months later, the girl had already participated in several video-sex sessions.

Her dad printed out “approximately 143 pages” of sexually explicit online chats between the girl and Chery.

Not to mention that once a picture or video hits the internet you can never get it back. I hope that in this case that Chey doesn’t like to share.

This story also answers a question that brings some curious folk to this site. Not only can you be arrested for using Omegle with underage kids you can also go to jail for it for a very long time.

Philly woman offers children for sex on Kik

kik

In the past I have posted stories about how suspects have been busted by police posing online as parents offering their children for sex. One of the arguments I get from the pedo-defenders is that there aren’t really parents online offering their kids for sex. Well, federal investigators might disagree.

32-year-old Christine Yoder of Philly was arrested for allegedly offering her children, ages 6 years and 16 months, for sex over the instant messaging app Kik. Investigators say she was also willing to give her children away to any pedo who wanted them and would send them explicit photos of her kids.

In one correspondence, she allegedly wrote, “I don’t want any contact after u take her.”

Yoder described to the man the size of clothing he would need to buy for the child and told him she hoped he would get the girl pregnant one day so she could be a grandmother.

So yes, people like this do actually exist.

UPDATE 4/25/2015: Back in March Yoder pleaded guilty and is facing 15 to life. Sentencing is scheduled for early June.

The Tumblr child porn files

tumblr-icon

Just some people who have been arrested for allegedly posting child porn to micro-blogging site Tumblr.

62-year-old Richard Comenzo, a public defender from Massachusetts using the screen name of ‘XBostonDad’ He’s also accused of soliciting children for sex. Tumblr reported him to the NCMEC.

47-year-old Billy Scott McGhee and 36-year-old Aaron N. Landers, both of Bristow, Virginia have also been arrested for allegedly posting child porn to Tumblr. Authorities were again notified by the NCMEC.

I don’t know what it is about Tumblr that attracts the pedos but this should serve as warning that they need to stop. As I’ve mentioned before Tumblr is owned by Yahoo which used to have a bad reputation when it came to dealing with predators in their chat rooms. They’re not making the same mistake with Tumblr and they will turn you in.

Pedophile: Kik well known within our ‘industry’

kik

For those of you who may think I’m exaggerating about letting your kids have unfettered access to smartphone messaging apps like Kik please allow me to share something with you. The Trentonian newspaper in New Jersey claims to have had an actual pedophile call their news offices to discuss apps like Kik. He is said to have called in after reading an article about a child porn sting. What he had to say is both eye-opening and disturbing…

“There are two applications on the internet that kids go on, but adults are also on it,” said the man, who would not identify himself. “I could go on it now and probably within 20 minutes have videos, pictures, everything else in between off the app because I know they’re both still active. That’s where all the child porn is coming off of.”

The pedophile said any predator could simply download the Kik messenger app for a mobile phone, make up a bogus username, and through Kik download another app called Hit Me Up.

“With the combination of both of those apps, you go on and say ‘I like little boys between this age and this age,’ and people would start sending you pictures,” the Gloucester County man said. “Because that’s how I did it when I was doing it.”

“I made a stupid username and within five minutes, I got 20 pictures,” he said of the app that allows users to talk, browse and share content. “Kids are always on. You can even ask the kids on there to send pictures and they do. Those apps are well known in our industry.”

The fact that he refers to child porn an ‘industry’ disgusts me to no end.

As I’ve said before if your kids are using Kik on their smartphones someone would need to know their username to contact them. Unfortunately since their usernames aren’t tied to their cell numbers too many kids give out their Kik usernames freely.

I urge you to check your kids phone’s not only for the Kik app but check their friends list on the app as well. Make sure that someone like Mr. Industry isn’t soliciting them for photos.

Vegas man posed as child fashion photographer on craigslist

oldtimeycamera

Personally I think people who push their kids into modeling are mentally deficient. Too many people see it as a get rich quick scheme without realizing how many people out there want to take advantage of their children. I’ve posted too many stories about child predators and human traffickers who used the allure of modeling to get close to their victims. However if you’re going to push your kid in that direction don’t post ads on craigslist looking for work for your kid.

One such woman from Bakersfield, California placed such an ad and police say it was responded to 43-yer-old Charles Max Pollock of Las Vegas. That’s over a four-hour trip and almost 300 miles in case you were wondering. Pollock allegedly said that he was a photographer, rented a motel room and took explicit photos of the child. No word on the age of the child but he’s at least of computer using age since the article states that Pollock continued communication with the child. Since Pollock crossed state lines he’s looking at 30 years in federal prison.

Craigslist is the cesspool of the internet. If you post just about any ad in regards to an underage child you more than likely to get a response from a child predator than a talent agent.
