Darreck Michael Enciso
If one can be a fan of a police department I am a huge fan of the Huntington Beach, California, Police Department. For years they’ve been in the forefront of catching craigslist creepers in their area. As an aside creeper is the term we used where I grow up for guys who like children. Getting back to the subject at hand I’m afraid that the HBPD may have dripped the ball in this case, at least in the way the incident is being reported.
27-year-old Darreck Michael Enciso, of Adelanto, California, is accused of allegedly posting an ad for Disneyland tickets on craigslist in exchange for what some reports are calling very explicit sex acts. Enciso is a former dishwasher at a Disneyland resort. The Huntington Beach Police Department responded to the ad posing as a 14-year-old girl. Enciso allegedly had no problem with the girl being 14. They are said to have arranged to meet for sex in exchange for the tickets and the time of his arrest the suspect had condoms on him.
Now, while I’m not defending the suspect, because by most accounts he didn’t have problems with the ‘girl’ being underage, my problem was with how the ad was posted or at least how it’s being reported how it was posted.
Enciso is accused of posting a Craigslist ad on July 1 seeking women willing to engage in sex acts in exchange for tickets to the Disneyland parks.

Prosecutors say Enciso allegedly posted a Craigslist ad dated July 1 seeking women who would engage in sexual acts in exchange for tickets to Disneyland.
On July 1, 2015, Enciso is accused of posting an ad on Craigslist seeking women willing to engage in sex acts in exchange for tickets to the Disneyland parks.
—Orange County DA’s office press release
All the reports I’ve read said that Enciso placed an ad looking for women. To me that implies an adult. Would the HBPD posing as an underage female not be considered a form of entrapment? Don’t get me wrong. I want to see this guy put away in the unhappiest place on earth but I want to make sure he’s there the right way. It could be that he did post an ad making an allusion to minors but that’s now how it’s been reported.
Either way law enforcement is looking for other possible victims…
Investigators believe Enciso previously posted similar advertisements on Craigslist. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Supervising Dist. Atty. Investigator Mark Gutierrez at (714) 347-8794.
Hopefully the HBPD has not let their fanboy down and it’s just a case of miscommunication to the press.
Undercover H.B. officer thwarts possible sex crime:
In my opinion the Huntington Beach Police Department in California is one of the most proactive law enforcement agencies when it comes to catching sexual predators on craigslist. They’ve been featured on this site many times before and it’s good to see that they’re still being vigilant.
Most recently they arrested 55-year-old Carlton Earl Griner for allegedly placing an ad on craigslist soliciting for sex. He thought he was meeting a 13-year-old girl at a shopping center but the person he was exchanging sexually explicit e-mails with was a Huntington Beach detective. Shopping Centers or malls is the other prerequisite meeting place for creepers like this to meet their victims. Griner is a registered sex offender for having a prior conviction in Iowa on child pornography charges.
While the HBPD may be doing their job in catching this creepers it doesn’t feel like the state is backing them up. While Griner is facing a lifetime on the sex offender registry he’s only looking at 5 years in prison. Obviously the registry wasn’t enough to keep him from offending again.
And once again this shows that craigslist has become the weekly flier for sexual predators shopping for victims.
UPDATE 11/2/2013: Griner was only sentenced to 3 years behind bars. Not even the 5 years he was looking at. What does it take to keep a registered sex offender in California behind bars longer?
Police arrest man in Craigslist sting:
Police in Huntington Beach, California have arrested another would be predator from the pages of craigslist.
This time it was 35-year-old Oscar Pinedo of Santa Ana, California. Pinedo allegedly thought that he was going to pay to have sex with a 13-year-old girl that he arranged through craigslist. Pinedo was said to have been told the girl’s age repeatedly but he didn’t seem to mind. Pinedo was arrested at the pre-arranged meeting place.
Once again this shows that craigslist is far from being cleaned up. Just think for every creep that’s arrested think of how many are on craigslist who haven’t been caught.
Yes, I’m juvenile. So sue me.
Internet Sex Predator Sentenced To Prison Following Sting Operation:
I originally posted about Howard Houchen Wang of Mission Viejo, California here. He’s one of the many men who were caught in an online sting by the Huntington Beach police department.
The HBPD placed an ad on craigslist posing as a 13-year-old girl looking to make money for sex. Wang was one of the men who responded to the ad and showed up for the rendezvous with 80 bucks and condoms.
This past week Wang pleaded guilty and received a sentence of 2 years and 8 months.
Again this goes to show just exactly what kind of creeps are lurking on the unmoderated craigslist.
Mark Aime Brosseau
O.C. man caught for sex w/minor he met online:
54-year-old Mark Aime Brosseau of Stanton, California was arrested in Huntington Beach after he was found having sex with a 14-year-old boy that he met on craigslist.
He wasn’t busted through a police sting or through the parents finding out about it or any other kind of detective work that usually leads to one of these arrests. Brousseau was arrested because he was allegedly caught with the teen in his vehicle with his pants around his ankles in the parking lot of a mall. Police happened upon them almost accidentally.
Parents, I’ve told you this numerous times. Craigslist is not a place for 14-year-old boys to wander unsupervised. If you do not monitor your children’s internet activities they could possibly end up in the truck of a child molester.
Also I don’t have to guess for too long which section of craigslist they Brousseau found his victim on. I’m guessing it wasn’t the furniture section. Craigslist still has a lot of cleaning up to do on their site.
UPDATE 11/10/2013: Brosseau was convicted late last month of one felony count of lewd acts upon a child, meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct and contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts. He’s looking at a paltry 5 years and few months. They should make him spend his prison time pantsless.
UPDATE 6/15/2014: Brosseau was sentenced to 3 years in state prison and a lifetime on the sex offender registry. California really needs to up the sentencing for scumbags like this.
Internet sting snares lewd conduct suspect:
The Huntington Beach PD have done it once again landing itself on these pages for the 4th time in snaring a craigslist predator.
This time they nabbed a guy by the name of Howard Houchen Wang of Mission Viejo, California. Are you done snickering now? Great, anyway the 38-year-old Wang *snicker* was arrested for soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl on craigslist who was actually the Huntington Beach PD.
Ok, you 12-year-olds get it out of your system. I’ll help you.
