20-year-old Kwangmin Jin of San Ramon, California, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting four women in the San Francisco Bay area, specifically Fremont, California. Drugging and sexual assault are the terms the article used but let’s call a spade a spade. That sounds a lot like date rape.
Anyway, Jin is said to have met the women over Tinder, Facebook, Mocospace and Skout. Skout is new to me but it appears to be just another dating app even though it says its purpose is to meet new people. He allegedly used the aliases of Kevin Park, Kevin Jin, Jeremy Lee and Kevin Lee. Once he met the women he’d offer them a drink that was reportedly spiked with an unnamed sedative drug. The women would pass out and Jin is said to have sexually assaulted them while unconscious. Again, that sounds an awful lot like date rape to me.
Of course Jin may have more victims…
Fremont police said there is evidence indicating that there are probably more victims throughout the Bay Area. Anyone who may have had contact with Jin is asked to contact police at (510) 790-6900.
This story should serve as a reminder for both men and women regardless of sexual preference. Even though online dating has been a thing for close to 20 years now, if not longer, we’re still not at a place in our society where people you meet online can be trusted. Just from a safety standpoint online hook ups or one night stands should be avoided at all costs. I know that’s hard to say when you’re young and full of life and want to have fun. I get it I’ve been there and made some questionable decisions. Luckily none of them cost me any bodily harm. There’s a gamut of crimes that predators like this can commit from robbery to murder. It’s not worth losing your life over.
If you know someone who engages in this kind of risky behavior you may want to send them this story.
If this was an SAT test it would be one of those sentences like Mocospace is to Texas like Pennsylvania is to MeetMe. The Lone Star State’s fascination with the social site/mobile gaming app continues.
32-year-old Ladarin Franklin, aka Bloodshot, of Dallas is accused of allegedly luring a 13-year-old girl into prostitution after meeting the girl on Mocospace. Franklin is accused of convincing the girl to leave home and turning her out for 3 months. Where did he turn the girl out? Why Backpage of course. Another criminal mastermind who got past Backpage’s defenses, or just some guy with a pre-paid credit card probably.
I can’t stress this enough to parents, know what apps are on your kids’ phones and know who everyone is on theor friends list.
As for Backpage the young girl who was forced to be raped by strangers for money is just another exercise in their free speech if you ask them.
22-year-old Jesus Torres was arrested late in May in Brownsville, Texas for allegedly picking up a 16-year-old girl that he met on the mobile/social gaming platform Mocospace. The assault charge stems from Torres allegedly biting her on her lower lip.
As I’ve stated before Texas is to Mocospace what Pennsylvania is to MeetMe however parents from all states should be aware if their kids are using Mocospace on their smart phones.
Swiss Miss up there is 22-year-old Desiree Lee Padilla of Harlingen, Texas. She was recently arrested for allegedly sending explicit pictures of an infant girl to a registered sex offender that she met on MocoSpace. Again with Texas and MocoSpace. I have to wonder once again if it’s just being reported more in Texas than any other area.
Anyway, the sex offender in question is 41-year-old James Leland Copeland Jr. who was convicted on child porn charges in Tennessee in 2005. He’s been in and out of prison since. He’s been arrested as well in this case.
Investigators say that Padilla sent pictures of her performing a sex act on an infant girl at Copeland’s request. The articles come out have not said if the girl was Padilla’s daughter.
Unfortunately this is not the uncommon occurrence you may think it is. Over at Bad Breeders there have been a multitude of stories of women who have sent their insignificant others child porn usually involving their own children. I don’t care if the guy was a multi-billionaire who was going to set you up for life on a private island. There is no man or woman out there that’s worth violating a baby for.
Do we as a society think so little of our children anymore?
Seriously, I don’t get it. MocoSpace is a mobile gaming social network that has been around since 2005. To my knowledge they never had a problem with child predators until late last year. Not only is the fourth story I’ve posted about an alleged predator on MocoSpace since November. Three of the stories have taken place in Texas.
For example our latest perp is 21-year-old Carlos Narvaez. He was found in the Houston, Texas bedroom of a 15-year-old girl by the girl’s mother. When the girl’s mom went to check on the daughter she allegedly found Narvaez in the act (read child rape) with the girl. When the girl’s stepfather heard all the commotion he kept Narvaez in a headlock until the police arrived.
It turns out that the girl met Narvaez met the girl through MocoSpace. The girl’s parents thought she was watching movies on her laptops in her room but instead was communicating with Narvaez.
First off as I’ve said many times no child no matter how much you think you can trust them should ever be left alone with any internet enabled device without supervision. If you do it’s like leaving a window to their lives open to every predator and we know how much these scumbags like to climb through windows be it virtually or the real thing. Secondly it seems that Texas is to MocoSpace as Pennsylvania is to MeetMe.
Authorities in Georgia have arrested 24-year-old Raymundo Aranda-Parra of Norcross, Georgia and charged him with the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl that he met on MocoSpace. Police say that Aranda-Parra allegedly made a 229 mile trip from Norcross to Glennville where he picked up the girl and took her to a hotel back in Norcross. So that’s more than 450 miles this assclown drove in order to get some underage tail.
Aranda-Parra is saying that the girl posed as a 19-year-old on the mobile gaming site which I’m sure will bring out all the creeper defenders. They’ll ignore the facts in this case because facts would interfere with their agenda of trying to make sex with underage kids accepted. The facts are that Aranda-Parra already had a run in with the girl’s parents when he showed up at their house. I can’t imagine that the girl’s father wouldn’t inform this scumbag at the time that his daughter was only 14. Not to mention that he took her to a hotel back in his hometown after secretly absconding with her from her house. In my opinion he knew what he was doing and was probably fully aware of her true age. So take your “this girl is equally liable” crap and shove it.
You can see my first post about MocoSpace here. For 7 years I’ve never posted a story about it and now not only am I posting 2 stories in 2 weeks but they both happened in the same city, San Antonio, Texas.
This time 22-year-old Aaron Herrera has been charged with having sex (child rape) with a 14-year-old girl that he mt on the mobile gaming social site. Police say that he had someone drive him to the girl’s house in Marion, Texas. The pair had sex on the way back to San Antonio. Then he kept the girl in San Antonio for three days where they repeatedly had sex. He then had someone else drive her back to Marion.
Herrera is using the ‘she said she was 19’ defense. Let me know how that works out for you. If you can’t tell the difference between a 14 and a 19-year-old than you have no business in the dating pool let alone the gene pool.
And where in the hell were this girl’s parents? She was gone for three whole days and was returned without so much anyone doing anything about it. According to the articles it was the girl herself who called police when she got home. A little false imprisonment maybe?
Castro’s ugly nephew over there is 52-year-old Jose Webster of San Antonio, Texas. He’s been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a mentally challenged 16-year-old girl that he met over MocoSpace. I know what you’re thinking. WTF is MocoSpace? That was my reaction to? I had obviously heard of it before since it was on my Google News alerts but I’ll be damned if I could find another post I did about it. It turns out that MocoSpace is a mobile gaming social network that has been around since 2005 and boasts 22 million users.
One of those users was Webster who police say convinced the girl to meet him at a bus station. It’s always a bus station with these jokers. Webster is said to have fondled the girl on several occasions and gave her money and stuff to keep her coming back. Eventually the girl moved in with Webster. He also allegedly told her that if she didn’t allow him to touch her she would have to leave.
Webster turned himself in after the girl was reported as missing. He is using the ‘I thought she was 18′ defense.
I’m not ready to lower the boom on MocoSpace just yet. In 7 years this is the first time I can remember something like this happening through their site. However when I go to their website I do get that MyYearbook vibe.
This should come as yet another warning to parents. Not only should you be monitoring your kids’ activities on their computers but their phones as well. If you think it’s too difficult because you don’t know how you better learn before your kid ends up in at a bus station in the hands of a predator.
