Calgary man sentenced to two years in jail for luring girls via Internet:
Matthew Alan Armstorng of Calgary, Alberta was convicted for using Nexopia to lure minors into having sex with him. If you’ll recall he’s the guy who approached a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 19-year-old girl who posed as a 13-year-old girl ala To Catch a Predator, and a 13-year-old girl who was actually a police detective and had sex with the 14-year-old girl in a train station bathroom.
Previously his lawyer argued that his client should get time served because he allegedly has muscular dystrophy which affects his judgment. Never mind the fact that the 27-year-old Armstrong told his victims that age is ‘just a number’.
He might as well have gotten time served because for all his actions Armstrong only got less than 2 years behind bars. After that he’ll be on probation for only 3 years and be a registered sex offender for 20.
So once he’s 47 he’ll be free to prey on young girls again. Pathetic.
Tough sentence sought for Calgary internet predator:
I originally posted about Matthew Allan Armstrong here. He’s the slimeball from Calgary who used to Nexopia to try and set up meetings with underage girls. Armstrong is 27.
He approached a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, a 19-year-old girl who posed as a 13-year-old girl ala To Catch a Predator, and a 13-year-old girl who was actually a police detective.
He even met the 14-year-old and had sex with her in a train station restroom. Classy.
He sent messages to over 100 girls on Nexopia with over 532 pages of chats. When underage girls would tell him their age he would say ‘age is just a number’. That’s the motto of the child predator.
So what is he looking at for all these offenses? 18-24 months and his lawyer is trying to get him time served. His lawyer says that Armstrong has a form of muscular dystrophy which affects his judgment. That fact that he says age is just a number tells me that he knew exactly what he was doing and 18-24 months is a joke for an obvious serial predator.
Tolland Sex Offender’s Mother Charged With Perjury:
Who can forget our favorite MySpace predator Scott Shefelbine who was arrested over a dozen times even while on parole for assaulting under age girls? Or his father who was arrested for punching out a female reporter? Now Scott Shefelbine’s mother may now complete the Shefelbine family arrest trifecta.
Prosecutors are charging 66-year-old Gail L. Shefelbine with nine counts of perjury.
If you followed this site during the younger Shefelbine’s saga you’ll remember that Mrs. Shefelbine tried saying that her son’s violation of his ghouse arrest was to attend church and as proof she presented the classic standby of the church bulletin. Old school Catholics like myself will find that amusing.
It turns out that Mrs. Shefelbine allegedly went around to different churches requesting old church bulletins.
So if these accusations are true Mrs. Shefelbine basically covered for her son while he went out and diddled some underage girls.
There’s also some issue of a possible fake beard that Shefelbine may have worn. I wonder if it was special effects type make up or if it was from a costume shop. Either thought is kind of disturbing.
Man Arrested After Meeting 13-year-old Girl on MySpace:
31-year-old Corey Hubbard of Valdosta, Georgia was arrested after taking a 13-year-old girl from canton, Georgia he met on MySpace to a hotel. Here’s the mileage in case you were wondering.
Both we’re pretending to be 16-year-olds on MySpace. In case you were wondering again 16 is the age of consent in Georgia.
Investigators said the two ended up at a Canton motel in the middle of the night. Officers said fortunately, the young girl had second thoughts. Investigators said Hubbard paid for a room, but just before going inside, the girl told Hubbard that she needed to make a phone call.
“She text messaged her friend and her father called back and told her to get to the hotel manager’s office,” said Sergeant Baker.
Pryush Patel, the hotel manager who called 911 said, “She told me she was here with someone and she was scared.”
When authorities arrived at the hotel, the girl was reunited with her parents and Hubbard was arrested.
Luckily the girl had second thoughts or else we might be talking about this as a missing child story…
“This turned out pretty good considering the items we found in the trunk, a knife, rope, rubber gloves and a cooler,” said Sergeant Baker.
It sounds like they might have been finding this girl in 5 different counties.
Again parents, if you ever needed any more incentive to monitor your kids’ internet activity this should be it.
College Station sex predator who used Myspace to target young teen sentenced to seven-year prison term:
Back in July of 2006 27-year-old Guadalupe “Wally” DeLaGarza used MySpace to sexually solicit a 14-year-old girl. When he arrived to meet her he was in possession of a handgun, rope restraints, condoms, and a digital camera. Luckily the 14-year-old girl was the Cyber Crimes Unit and DeLaGarza was promptly arrested. Now he’s been sentenced to 7 years behind bars.
DeLaGarza pleaded guilty to attempted sexual performance by a child, a third-degree felony. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
It seems a little light for someone who showed up with a gun and restraints.
