Christopher Pittman granted new trial

Circuit judge orders new trial for SC man who blames Zoloft in grandparents’ shotgun deaths:

Christopher Pittman is the poster boy for the kids criminal crowd. At the age of 12 in Chester, South Carolina he took a shotgun and killed both of his grandparents, Joe and Joy Pittman, while they slept. He then set fire to the house, stole their car and drove off.

When he was captured by police he told them that a ‘black man’ had killed his grandparents and set the fire. This must have been the same mysterious black man who killed Susan Smith’s kids but I digress.

Pittman was tried as an adult, convicted of their murder and sentenced to 30 years behind bars. During the trial his defense argued that Pittman was mentally ill and killed his grandparents because of the anti-depressant Zoloft.

What’s usually left out of the story mainly told by the middle-aged hausfraus who defend him is the kid was an anti-social and sometimes violent kid and the night he killed his grandparents was the night he had gotten ‘the belt’ from his grandfather.

Anyway he’s now been granted a new trial on the grounds that he did not receive proper counsel.

Here’s what’s going to happen. He’s going to get off at the new trial. Then it will only be a matter of time before he does something else to land back in jail.

Then we’ll see if the kid criminal crowd will be so quick to defend him again.

You can’t get me, Daddy

Details in shooting of 3-year-old surface:

I’m not against people who own guns, just stupid people who own guns. Take for example 43-year-old Gary Wayne Garretson of Coal City, WV. He accidentally shot and killed his 3-year-old son, Anthony Garretson, with a shotgun.

His version of the story was he was ‘playing a game’ with his son where he would chase him around with the unloaded gun while his sun would run around saying “You can’t get me, Daddy.” Except this time the gun was loaded.

I’ve only fired a gun a handful of times in my life but the first commandment of gun safety is always treat the gun like it’s loaded. If you don’t it could have lethal consequences as seen here unfortunately.

Thanks to Julie for the tip.

Pa. child killed by shotgun blast

Son Who Went To Get Dad His Gun Shot, Killed In Fayette Co.:

39-year-old Michael Muha Jr. of Allison, Pa. is obviously a classy guy. While fighting with his girlfriend he asked his 12-year-old son, Michael Muha III, to go get him his shotgun.

Sometime during the dispute the gun discharged hitting Michael III in the chest killing him instantly.

Nothing says good parenting like swinging around a shotgun during a domestic dispute while kids are in the room.
