The Trench Reynolds Report

All Crime Is Personal

Girl, 10, gives birth:
Today a 10-year-old girl from Mitchells Plain, South Africa gave birth to a baby girl. Her 21-year-old Uncle is believed to be the father. He’s been charged with stautory rape.

Under South African law, if a man has sex with a girl under 16, he faces a charge of statutory rape.

Who in the hell looks at a 10-year-old family member and thinks “ooh, she’s hot.”

I’m all for the execution of child molesters, especially incestuous ones like this. At the very least they should be deserted on an uninhabited island somewhere.

Thanks as always to our South African correspondent Southern Lady.

Bishop – I believe that it is so common in Africa due to the myth that having sex with virgins cure AIDS. The sad thing is that the African Gov’t does nothing to stop it in terms of educating the people (especially the infected people). Now, not only are these people taking away these children’s youth, virtue and security, they are infecting them with AIDS. It makes me so mad just thinking about it.

There are people who attend my church who are from Africa. I was saddened to hear that the rape of young girls is such a common occurrence. The mother of a daughter heard her screams and ran to see what was happening. In her anger at at seeing her 6 y/o daughter being raped, she cut the man’s (a family member) penis off. SHE went to prison. Now the child has no mother, has been brutalized, has been shamed, and is told that it’s all her fault.

I watched a program where educators went into a part of the country that is plagued with AIDS. They met with a man and his family. They worked with the man, trying over and over and over to teach him that having unprotected sex was killing people. They provided protection. They did everything they could. By the end of the program, he had infected many other women with AIDS while his wife lay there dying because of him. No amount of education got through to him.

It’s very sad and beyond my ability to understand.

Also, South Africa is reported as having the highest incidents of rape in the world – raping lesbians to “cure” them, roving gangs of men that consider rape a sport, (as April mentioned) raping children and even babies because they believe it will cure HIV, etc.

At one point an international organization said that 1/3 of all women they interviewed said they’d been raped in the last three months.

Definitely not on my list of places I’d like to visit.

Alyric – Thanks for the info. I knew about the babies and children but not the lesbians. Wow. Africa is really messed up. I saw a TV program about the AIDS thing. The Gov’t does nothing. They have their heads as much up their asses as the damn low life people committing the crimes. They believe that HIV and AIDS are 2 diffent things. The Gov’t tells the people that you can get a “syndrome” from a “virus”. These people are uneducated and backwards.

And what’s so ridiculous is that they CHOOSE to be uneducated and backwards. Just like the man that Kathy was talking about. People tried to educate him, but he wouldn’t listen, presumably because he doesn’t like using rubbers. The government there needs to really crack down on rape (they mostly don’t do anything about it) and make it illegal to have unprotected sex if you have HIV. Not that they will. The more people are disenfranchised, the less they pay attention to the corrupt government in power. So they can just keep doing whatever they want….

I am an American who has lived in South Africa for the last six years. Let me explain what I have learned of the people.

No, many are not educated. There’s a reason for that. They do not have free public schools here. The students have to own uniforms, quite costly, find transportation and pay fees. Natives in the tribes do not have such money, and even if they did, there are only so many schools and most of them are in the cities. Those in the townships and rural areas rarely have running water, much less toilets. So no. Forget about education.

All that has been said above is true. They rape virgins and lesbians for all the reasons given.

Now let’s talk about the government. Mbeki, the former president, stated out loud on many occasions that he did not believe HIV and Aids were related. Got that? No medical aid given. He resigned for different reasons, but now we have Zuma. A couple of years ago a young woman with HIV accused Zuma of rape. He stated it was consensual, and that he took a bath afterward to “wash off the disease”. He got off. Found innocent.
    This is our president now.

Education? Forget it. Old drunk guys down at the shebeen tell you to take a virgin, what do you do? Find your local niece. Tell you to cure that lesbian of the tokolos (demon) inside her, break her cherry.

Wow. I’m still in a bit of a shock at the difference of cultures.

SL – that is awful. Also, I didn’t know that there was a new president. I just remember how ignorant the one was. Sounds like they got themselves another winner. What a shame the children ahve to pay. I know that Oprah does a bunch as far as educating the females in Africa. She has started girl schools. Since she has no children, she considers all of the girls her daughters. Maybe Oprah would make a better president.

Alot (if not all) that was said above re South-Africa is true although we have do have very well-educated people living and working here. The well known Chris Barnard who performed the first heart transplant was born and raised here and JRR Tolkien (lord of the rings fame) was born here.

I agree with SL – Zuma is the biggest mistake our country has ever made. This man was not found guilty of rape although in my opinion he is as guilty as sin, and he was prosecuted for corruption but managed to dig himself out of that hole – God alone knows how, he is a bigamous and has 3 wifes and a couple of mistresses on the side, and the Lord only knows how many children. And he was chosen to lead the country (the majority SA Citizens are black and voted for him hence him being in power – they so desperately want to believe his promises of free housing etc).

But notwithstanding the above, I just want to know why this story was featured on PBB? After all, it wasnt a parent that behaved badly but an uncle????
