Here’s another story that happened a while ago but just now am I getting the chance to post it.
Anyway if you’ve been reading my site for a while you’re familiar with one Michael Jacques from Vermont. To briefly recap he is accused in the kidnap, rape and murder of his niece, 12-year-old Brooke Bennett. The MySpace angle is that Jacques allegedly altered Brooke’s MySpace to make it look like she ran away.
Jacques has been charged by the feds for Brooke’s kidnapping and death and could be put to death. Brooke was not taken out of Vermont but since Jacques used the internet to allegedly commit and cover up the crime that it falls into federal jurisdiction. However Jacques has a pair of well renowned anti-death penalty defense lawyers who are arguing that since Brooke was not physically taken across state lines that Jacques should not be charged by the feds but charged by Vermont which does not have a death penalty.
I understand that people can be opposed to the death penalty. I just don’t understand why people would want a piece of human filth like Jacques spared from it.
