Yesterday police arrested an unnamed freshman from Socastee High School after he allegedly opened fire inside the school resource officer’s office. Officer Erik Karney was not struck by the bullet but was struck in the face by shrapnel from the bullet. He was treated and released.
After the school was locked down the bomb squad combed the school and they say that multiple ‘devices’ were found. They didn’t call them bombs but commented that “The bomb squad is working on rendering them safe.” Sounds like bombs to me but you never know.
Evidence was also seized from the kid’s house but police aren’t saying what they took.
The gunman has not been named due to his status of being a juvenile. I see that changing very soon considering he took a shot at a police officer inside the school. And especially considering that South Carolina is the state that rightly tried and convicted Christopher Pittman as an adult.
More on this as details become available and as my schedule allows.
