Mom of NIU victim says no C&C on campuses

Ok, if you won’t listen to me about conceal and carry on college campuses (holy alteration Batman) will you listen to Mary Kay Mace? Who is she you ask? She is the mother of 19-year-old Ryanne Mace who was killed by Stephen Kazmierczak when he opened fire on Northern Illinois University in 2008.

In this piece from the Chicago Sun Times Ms. Mace discusses why she thinks C&C on campus is not the answer.

“I get offended when people say that. It’s like blaming the victim. If only she had a gun . . . or if she had outrun the bullets.”

“To me, it’s crazy to have everybody carrying concealed,” Mace said.

“I understand that there’s evil out there in the world. Nobody understands better than I do,” she said. “I understand wanting a gun for personal protection. I just don’t think that it works.”

Ms. Mace is more concerned with preventing people from mental issues like Kazmierczak from obtaining guns before we worry about allowing concealed guns on campus.

And again I think having C&C on college campuses would lead to more gun violence just with legally concealed weapons.

Child sex ring suspect accused of trying to get hit on victim

 Robert D. Thompson

Robert D. Thompson

Man in Newberg Craigslist sex abuse ring faces murder solicitation charges:

Is it me or does he look like he’s dead behind his eyes.

Anyway, I originally posted about Robert D. Thompson here. He’s accused of being one of the participants in a Newberg, Oregon child sex ring that was organized on craigslist and reportedly involved children as young as 4 being raped and forced to have sex with a dog.

Now Thompson has another charge to worry about as he’s now been charged with allegedly trying to solicit a hit on of the teenage victims of the sex ring. Along with his 11 sex abuse charges he’s had seven murder solicitation charges added. Hopefully that means that he’ll get a real sentence instead of the slaps on the wrists that some of the other suspects in the ring got.

Craigslist: request a mover, get a rapist

Woman’s Dogs Save Her From Craigslist Mauler:

Attempted Rapist Masquerades As Mover On Craigslist:

Metro Woman Says Sexually Assaulted by Online Predator:

A 51-year-old woman from Omaha, Nebraska recently advertised on craigslist for a mover. Personally if I was going to request anything on craigslist one of the last things I would ask for is a mover since they would have to come to your house, but I digress.

Anyway instead of a mover what she got was man who tried to rape her…

“He said he was going to help me alright,” said Sue. “But he said, ‘I’m going to do whatever I want to you.’ And all I could think of was dying.”

Instead of assistance in moving large appliances, Sue tells us the middle-aged man who came to help her intended to rape her.

“I knew what he was going to do to me,” she said. “He was going to bend me over the coffee table and do whatever he wanted to me.”

Luckily, if you can even say luckily in this situation, her dogs barking and growling caused the suspect to lave but not before threatening the woman again…

He left with one last message for the victim, however. “Now that I know where you live, I can come back any time.”

As a man I can not possibly imagine the horror that this woman went through and is still going through since the suspect has not yet been apprehended as far as I can tell. However this goes further to show what kind of scum are trolling craigslist for any instance to violate their victims.

Underwood’s death sentence upheld

Jamie Rose Bolin

Jamie Rose Bolin

It’s been a long time since I last posted about Kevin Ray Underwood. He’s the piece of human excrement who back in 2006 in Purcell, Oklahoma killed 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin.

Not only did he kill her but he also raped her after death, tried to cut her head off and hid the body in a Rubbermaid container all while blogging about trivial matters and even volunteered in her search.

He was convicted in her murder and was sentenced to death but back in October he appealed his sentence claiming that there was a police roadblock set up in an area where Jamie had not been spotted. It was at this roadblock where police first came into contact with Underwood.

Thankfully Underwood’s appeal was denied this past Friday and is still on track for his date with the needle. No word on when the execution will take place yet.

Two more Dumbfish for the nets of North Carolina

Bonds and Grant

Bonds and Grant

As I’ve said before, I’m not a big fan of North Carolina’s law that bans sex offenders from social networking sites. I think it does nothing to prevent unregistered offenders from approaching kids and there are so many ways around the ban.

However as I’ve also said before it seems that it does catch some dumbfish in its net. Kind of like how even a blind squirrel can find a nut.
Anyway we have two more dumbfish to tell you about today and they would be Dwayne Anthony Bonds of Richfield, North Carolina and Ronnie Monroe Grant, Jr. of Lincoln County, North Carolina. They were both busted for being sex offenders on Facebook

Grant was sentenced on June 6, 2003 on a conviction of taking indecent liberties with a minor. He served a 30-day active sentence and was placed on 60 months probation. Grant registered as a sex offender in July of 2003 and is required to serve a 10-year registration period.

Again, how stupid do you have to be to be caught like this? If they say you can’t be around a school you make sure you’re not around a school. Why can’t you do the same with Facebook.

If they kept sex offenders behind bars with real sentences this wouldn’t be an issue.

Village Voice says that human trafficking stats are overblown

Women’s Funding Network Sex Trafficking Study Is Junk Science:

This is a short but important post.

The Village Voice is claiming that the study on human trafficking that supposedly caused congress to pressure craigslist to shut down its adult services section were greatly exaggerated.

Now why would The Village Voice have an interest in trying to debunk human trafficking statistics? Could it be because their parent company Village Voice Media owns the new leader in classifieds sites that allows prostitution and human trafficking on its site? I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that has raised its rates to place ads on the adult section, which are mostly thinly veiled ads for prostitution.

And who cares if the stats were overblown? If one child or one woman are being trafficked on craigslist or backpage we should all care.

Village Voice only ‘investigated’ this to help better fill their own coffers.

Sell a car part on craigslist, get solicited for sex 300 times

Andrew Yates

Andrew Yates

Police Say Man Hoped For Sexual Encounter With 14-Year-Old:

Man accused of trying to meet 14-year-old girl for sex:

This is one of those stories that is so convoluted you would think that there is no way in hell that it could possibly be true. Plus it takes a few twists and turns so stay with me.

A man in Nicholasville, Kentucky placed a car part for sale on craigslist. That’s when police say he was contacted by 49-year-old Andrew Yates of Stanford, Kentucky. While texting back and forth about the car part the man says that Yates started making sexual comments. Because you know everyone who sells a car part on craigslist is obviously a woman. Allegedly Yates sent over 300 texts.

In order to get Yates to stop the man said that he was a 14-year-old girl. It seems that did not discourage Yates in the least and it probably encouraged him as police say he wanted to meet the ‘girl’ for sex. Insert your own Kentucky joke here. The man contacted police who took over the conversation and arrested Yates when he showed up in Nicholasville.

Suffice it to say Yates is said to have showed up to meeting with condoms that police say he purchased along the way.

It seems you can’t even try to sell something on craigslist without being approached by some kind of deviant. It shows what kind of clientele that craigslist attracts.

Mo. man sentenced in backpage pedo sting

Clayton man caught in FBI sex sting gets 10 years:

29-year-old Louis Edward Cooke, formerly of Clayton, Missouri, was sentenced to 10 years in the federal pen for soliciting sex from underage girls on the Village Voice Media owned

Cooke, responded to a backpage ad that advertised “young and irresistable” sisters ages 13 and 15. Cooke said he would only take the younger girl if there was a discount involved. If that doesn’t make you want to vomit with rage you’re inhuman.

Well you can actually save your vomit because when Cooke went to the house in Kirkwood, MO to see the girls he was instead greeted by the Kirkwood police and the FBI. That’s right kids. The girls, thankfully, didn’t actually exist.

But wait, there’s more. Not only did Cooke claim, even through his trial, that he was at the girl’s house to jump a car battery but after he was arrested he lived with his girlfriend. Seriously? Some woman took him in after he was arrested for trying to buy a girl off the internet? It takes all kinds I guess.

This brings up another point though. Much like craigslist, backpage is obviously not doing jack shit to protect children on its website since the feds and police were able to post this ad without any kind of rejection from backpage.

It seems the steps that backpage is taking to clamp down on illegal activity are smaller than baby steps.

David Bradt sentenced for Facebook child rapes

David Bradt

David Bradt

I last posted about David Bradt here.

Bradt, of Colonie New York, pleaded guilty to raping 4 underage girls that he met through Facebook. On some of them he used booze and weed in order to subdue them.

Back in January he pleaded guilty to the four rapes under a plea deal that would only get him 12 to 13 years in jail. This past Thursday he was sentenced to the 13 years with 10 years of supervised release. No word if this puts him on the sex offender registry but I imagine it would.

Normally I would be bitching about a plea deal like this however Bradt has not only waived his right to appeal but he probably has more victims than just the 4 that he pleaded guilty to and prosecutors could still try him for those if more evidence is obtained.

Hopefully he will be and that the sentences won’t be concurrent. Concurrent sentences shouldn’t even be a term in law.

And remember what I said in my last post about Bradt, just because Facebook isn’t as low rent as MySpace it doesn’t mean that parents should let their guards down about sexual predators.

A view of 2011 from 1964 via The Outer Limits

Last night I watched an episode of The Outer Limits called The Duplicate Man.I thought the episode was set in 2011 because they had a plaque at a museum that read 2011 AD. While the episode actually took place in 2025 it was still interesting to see what the 1960s thought the 21st century would be like. Here’s what I posted on my Facebook while watching the episode.

  • Watching an episode of The Outer Limits that takes place in 2011. Apparently we were visited by space aliens in the 80s and 90s.
  • It seems we have cords on our picture phones in 2011 and we still drive cars from the 60s. The cars also have two phones with 1960s like cradles mounted on the dash. What is the 2nd phone for?
  • $100K gets you a clone. Bargain.
  • We have ray guns that look amazingly like .38 revolvers with 50s looking sci-fi crap glued to them.
  • Police cars still have the gumball machine lights on them and police will gladly give you a ride home.
  • We use mine cars instead of stairs to get to our flying saucer-shaped homes.
  • The picture phones are rotary dials.
  • Ray guns are still good for an old-fashioned pistol whippin’.
  • Bootlegged clones will get you life in prison.
  • My bad, we brought the aliens back to Earth. Or Erf, if you will.
  • Clones only live for 5 hours and will stalk your wife.
  • Garage door openers are the size of bricks.
  • An iPad is an actual pad of paper.
  • Ring tones are still annoying.
  • We haven’t conquered cobwebs yet.
  • Clones will shoot an alien in the dick.
  • Then the alien will body slam you and impregnate you.
  • Your clone will let you die and steal your wife.
  • The End.
