Supreme Court refuses to reinstate Abu-Jamal death sentence:

Make sure you read that headline well because it speaks the truth. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to rule on the sentencing of convicted cop killing scumbag Wesley Cook aka Mumia Abu-Jamal.

I have seen many media outlets report it as the court ruled that Abu-Jamal’s death sentence is unconstitutional. That is incorrect and inflammatory. They simply, and I say cowardly, refused to rule on whether or not Abu-Jamal’s original death sentence should be reinstated. In 2001 a Pennsylvania judge had overturned his death sentence for killing Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. However, his conviction has been repeatedly upheld.

What does this mean? In this day and age of Casey Anthony and the West Memphis 3, I think that Abu-Jamal will never be executed. If a re-sentencing trial were to be held today I don’t think the Philadelphia D.A.’s office could get the death penalty so I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even try.

Meanwhile, Daniel Faulkner is still dead and Maureen Faulkner is still a widow. They don’t have the luxury of appealing.
