Attica man pleads guilty in child pornography case:

pedobearbusted

48-year-old Paul J. Havlen Jr. of Attica, New York, (the town, not the prison) recently pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to receive child pornography. It seems that Havlen placed an ad looking for, as the article puts it, a young man interested in smoking marijuana and sexual activities.

Havlen is said to have had graphic conversations with a 15-year-old boy who responded to the ad and was soliciting him for graphic pictures of himself. Of course, the 15-year-old boy was actually federal investigators. What gets me about this guy is that at the time of his arrest he tried weaseling out of it ‘To Catch A Predator’ style.

Havlen told police at the time that if the person he was meeting had really been a 15-year-old boy, he would have talked to him, told the boy not to participate in that kind of activity, and to go home, according to the indictment.

If I was a conspiracy-minded individual I would swear that there is some kind of handbook that these scumbags keep reading from.

maybe you should get the full story from Mr Havlen before branding him a scumbag.. the government.. specifically the FBI.. will twist evidence to make their target look bad.. and even lie.. I feel sorry for anybody who doesn’t realize that.. sometimes an innocent person ends up in prison with a record that will haunt them for the rest of their lives.. it happens all the time.. just watch the news

    1. Except, he pleaded guilty. The wrongfully convicted trope you see on TV doesn’t happen as often as you think it does.

sometimes people plead guilty because it’s in their best interest to do so.. the reality is, a jury of our peers is a joke.. if Mr Havlen would have gone in front of a jury of his peers I’m sure he would have been found innocent of the charges.. but that is never the case.. if Mr Havlen would have taken the case to trial, he could have been sentenced to life in prison because too many people assume that all homosexuals are pedifiles.. sad but true.. and too many people assume that if a person is into bondage.. or any kind of kink.. they’re a twisted person who would coerce someone into sex.. Mr Havlen plead guilty for one reason.. it was in his best interest.. the FBI did both immoral and illegal things to get a predator off the streets but the simple truth is that Mr Havlen isn’t a predator.. he was targeted and railroaded

        1. Then how do you reconcile that he was having an explicit conversation with someone who he thought was a 15-year-old boy?

first, the conversation was never really about sex.. second, he never thought he was talking to a fifteen year old.. he knew from the beginning that the person he was talking to was lying about who he was.. and third, the only reason the conversation went on as long as it did was because the agent was stalking Mr Havlen.. but of course the FBI left the stalking part out of the transcripts of the conversations.. granted, it wasn’t smart on Mr Havlen’s part to basically challenge the agent to prove that he was who he claimed to be.. which he only did because he knew the agent couldn’t.. but regardless, it never would have gotten to the point of Mr Havlen being arrested if the agent hadn’t stalked him.. and to be blunt, it seems obvious that you’re the type of person who cannot see the reality of the situation.. the type of person that thinks that because the FBI says that things happened a certain way.. that Mr Havlen is a certain type of person.. it has to be true.. and that is simply not the case.. if Mr Havlen was the predator he has been labeled as, I would not be defending him.. but I’ve actually listened to his side of the story and I believe him.. his public defender told him that it was obviously entrapment but unfortunately because of Mr Havlen’s sexual orientation.. among other things.. a jury would never believe that.. first, because as I have said, a jury of your peers is a joke.. and second, because people judge anyone who’s lifestyle they don’t approve of.. there are actually a lot of upstanding citizens who believe that Mr Havlen was wrongfully arrested and convicted.. and then there are the people like you who judge without knowing all of the facts.. unfortunately that’s the way the world works.. personally I think the world would be a better place if the people who judge without knowing all of the facts.. the people who don’t even want to hear all of the facts.. were strung up with the actual predators instead of being allowed to go online and make an innocent person’s bad situation worse

  2. I’m sorry but with all due respect this sounds all very ‘conspiracy theory’.
