September 27th 1997 was when I first took keyboard to code and created my first website. It’s been 18 years of spreading the truth, fighting for the justice of crime victims and fighting for the freedom of those who are being trafficked.
Someone once told me that if you believe in a cause do what you do best for that cause, so I write.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for 18 years of support.
Many years ago before I just had the one blog here at TTRR I had several and one of them was called MyCrimeSpace. It dealt exclusively with all the crimes that were happening on or though MySpace. Today I probably could open one specifically just for the criminals on smart phone messaging app kik.
The reason that online predators use the same old tricks is because they’re effective. He may have tried this trick on dozens of victims before finally finding one that would take the bait. Also I shudder to think what would have happened if this girl did take her own life. Altalh probably wouldn’t have cared. It also makes me wonder how many girls have committed suicide after running into predatory assclowns like this guy.
Kids, I say to you only talk yo people on Kik that you already know in the real world and parents keep tabs on who is on your kids friendlist on Kik because as I’ve said before and will keep sating Kik is a veritable playground for pedophiles and sex offenders.
According to DHS, Harding used the screen name of “desthfromabovee” and is said to have posted several pornographic images and videos of underage girls. After DHS traced the Kik account back to Harding they searched his home and found two thumb drives of child porn. One even had pictures of Harding and bondage photos of prepubescent girls.
I have great faith in our men and women in law enforcement in our country. While too many bad apples have been making the news in recent years I still believe that there are good men and women out there doing a thankless job protecting a sometimes ungrateful public. A dirty pedophile cop is the worst insult to anyone who’s ever put on the uniform and took pride in protecting the public.
Harding is looking at a maximum of twenty years in prison. If the world was just he’d receive no special treatment.
34-year-old George Higgins of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, has been missing for close to a month. He left his home in order to take a maintenance job that he found on craigslist. His family spoke with him the day the job was supposed to start and that was the last time they spoke with him. The last location for Higgins’ cell phone was almost 90 miles away in Mineral Bluff, Georgia.
If you may have seen George Higgins call Soddy Daisy Police at 423-332-3577
As much as I’m praying for Mr. Higgins to be returned safely to his family I can’t help but be reminded of Richard Beasley of Ohio. Beasley used phony craigslist employment ads to lure several men to their deaths in order to steal their identities so he could avoid prosecution for other crimes. However I hope to God that’s not the case here.
The body of 27-year-old Abilene, Texas police officer Don Allen was found in his home on August 31st of this year. According to recently released court documents Allen had placed an ad on the craigslist personals that one local media outlet called too explicit for publication. Investigators believe that his alleged killers, Violet and Phillip Walter, responded to the ad. The cause of death has not yet been released but the motive may have been a simple robbery as the pair were allegedly caught pawning some of Allen’s possessions. The pair have been charged with first-degree murder.
My prayers and condolences go out to the friends and family of Officer Allen.
By now most of you have outraged one way or another about the arrest of 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed for bringing a homemade clock to school that school and law enforcement authorities mistook as a bomb. While the situation probably could have been handled better please allow me to offer a viewpoint I haven’t heard discussed by many people.
Now I can’t say with 100% certainty this wasn’t a case of Islamaphobia because I wasn’t there, but let me ask you a question. What is a school’s biggest fear? Any kind of school shooting or attack. Let’s take this situation out of Texas for a moment. Let’s say that this happened at any other school and a student the same age as Ahmed took a bomb to school and said it was just a clock and no teacher or resource officer acted on it, then it blew up taking a fair number of students with it. Everyone would be outraged that nothing was done about it.
Here’s another point that a lot of people overlooked as well. At least in my research a white student is more likely to bring a bomb to school than a Muslim student. Historically on this site the majority of bomb makers have been white kids.
So to me there was a lack of common sense all around. Personally I believe he shouldn’t have brought something to school in a case like that with wires and circuit-boards sticking out of it because there are a lot of technologically illiterate people out there including those in education and law enforcement positions. However the fact that the alarm went off repeatedly and nothing happened combined with the fact that there were no obvious explosives attached to it this should have been a non-story. I mean don’t we have more pressing issues to spend our collective time on than this freak occurrence? By the looks of Facebook I guess some of you don’t.
This is a great post from The Nerdist bidding a fond farewell to Mark Waid’s run on Marvel Comics’ Daredevil. Usually I’m not a fanboy to certain writers. I’m more inclined to avoid a comic if it’s done by a certain writer, for example anything written by Frank Miller after The Dark Knight Returns. However Mark Waid’s run on Daredevil for the past four years has not only made Daredevil my favorite Marvel comic but one of my favorite comics of all time.
As the post from the Nerdist points out Mark Waid took Daredevil out of his normally gritty and dark situations and turned him into more of a swashbuckler fitting of the Daredevil name. He was even able to take a bad Marvel crossover in Original Sin and make a really great Daredevil story out of it in one of my favorite single issues of all time.
So thank you Mark Waid for making one of the best comic series of all time in my opinion and good luck to the new creative team. Who knows, maybe the next writer can knock it out of the park as well and make me a fan of one more writer.
Luck was caught because one of the girls was a runaway. Luck was initially approached by police at a mall where he was with both girls. Luck is said to have given an answer worthy of the ‘To Catch a Predator’ predators…
On April 14, Luck initially told deputies that he’d met the girls at a Publix supermarket and wanted to help them and keep them off the streets, according to the affidavit, but he later changed his account, saying he met them online.
Then he changed his story to another familiar tune that we’ve heard before…
Luck said he’d had sex with the girls but believed they were 19 and 20 years old, according to the affidavit.
Luck is facing some serious jail time since he’s been charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, lewd and lascivious battery, and most importantly child sex trafficking. Because of that last charge Luck is facing a possible life sentence.
But lets not forget that these girls were able to deftly circumvent Backpage’s age policy and million dollar security safeguards just by having another person post for then probably using a ore-paid credit card.
This is the kind of person that law enforcement needs to pursue more vigorously, the john. As I’ve said before they need to make the risk much greater than the reward and I think a potential life sentence for johns who use child prostitutes may actually discourage this kind of crime.
How could a minor get around Backpage’s ‘stringent’ safeguards to post ads for two minor girls? I mean besides the fact that they used to be able to accept pre-paid credit cards as payment. Wray had a cohort in 20-year-old Reginald Chaney who seemed to be the supposed man in charge of this little operation. Chaney appears to still be awaiting trial.
However, especially for those of you who say there’s no trafficking on Backpage, Chaney is accused of allegedly having one of the girls raped for not wanting to work for him and is said to have repeatedly used a TASER on his victims to keep them in line. That doesn’t exactly sound like the life of freedom that so many of you say Backpage provides these women. Oh, did I say women? I meant to say girls, because that’s what they are, underage girls who are being raped and brutalized while Backpage sits back and claims they’re defending the First Amendment. But keeping drinking Backpage’s Kool-Aid, it may help the denial go down easier.
