22-year-old Christopher M. Cortez Jr., of Whiting, Indiana, is accused of allegedly kidnapping a 14-year-old girl that he met on Kik. Cortez is said to have posed as a 17-year-old on Kik using the screen name of Jack Skelton/whocareshonestly. He told his victim that he could give her a ride home from school. When Cortez picked her up he allegedly threw out her cell phone and drove her to Chicago. She was discovered at a gas station where a customer noticed that she was in distress.

In case you needed another warning to check your kids messaging app accounts this would be it. God only knows what would have happened if she wasn’t found before any bodily harm could be done to her. In case you’ve missed the last few dozen times I’ve said it Kik is infamous for being one of the tools of choice for pedophiles and sex offenders.

By the way, this toolbox is out on bond. Sleep well Indiana.
