The Trench Reynolds Report

All Crime Is Personal

I originally posted about the stabbing death of 41-year-old Robin Smith, from Fresno, California, here. Now her boyfriend, who was present at the time of her stabbing, is taking to local media to tell his side of the story.

He claims that Smith contacted the man “to get some transmission fluid for her broken down vehicle”. However the article doesn’t say why he thinks that the man stabbed Smith if it wasn’t self-defense. He claims that he only accosted the man after Smith was stabbed. However the article does state that Smith had worked as a prostitute in the past which would lend credence to the report that the craigslist ad that stared the whole thing was for ‘companionship’.

Again that doesn’t mean she deserved to be killed however I am finding the transmission fluid story a little hard to believe. When people’s cars break down to some take to craigslist for immediate help? That would not be my first avenue of choice in that situation.

Police are still investigating and so far no charges have been filed.
