26-year-old Timothy Walker seems to fit the nomenclature of both sex offender and pedophile that seem to be so prevalent on the smart phone messaging app Kik. Walker was arrested for allegedly trying to solicit explicit pictures from an 11-year-old boy in Murfreesboro. Not only that but police say that Walker also tried to get the 11-year-old to send him explicit pictures of the boy’s 6-year-old sister. The NewsChannel 5 article states that the boy’s parents found photos on the boy’s phone but doesn’t elaborate on what kind of pictures they were. Since police say that Walker was posing as a child on Kik he may have sent the boy child porn. Walker is also a registered sex offender but the article is unclear as to what his prior offense was.
I know they probably don’t feel that great right now but hats off to the parents about being proactive with their kid’s phone. No 11-year-old needs to be on Kik no matter how many of their friends might be.
Police believe there may be more victims and are using Walker’s phone to possibly track down more suspects since Kik is an active trading place of child porn.
