The 2017 Trenchie Awards

The 2017 Trenchie Awards

Let’s see if I can get these done before midnight, central time anyway.

Best Movie: Wonder Woman. Although the ending was a little anti-climactic, I thought it had the best action of all the superhero movies of the year.

Best Album: 2017 was kind of a mediocre year for music for me so I’ll have to pick the album with the song I most identified with this year and that would be Hydrograd by Stone Sour.

Best TV Show: It came down to either Legion or American Gods, but I have to give it to Legion since the show runners took a horrible 90s comic book storyline and made it a worthwhile TV series. Both of these series had short seasons too which I felt to be very satisfying.

Best Comic: I meant to post about this but I never got around to it. Much like music for the year, 2017 was a mediocre year for comics. However, I’ve been enjoying Mark Waid’s current run on the post-Secret Empire Captain America run. It’s only been two issues but I love comics that take antiquated concepts like Captain America and make them relative to a modern world.

Most Inane Political Agenda of 2017: In a year that had a lot of political BS pollute the airways, personally I have to give it to Everytown for Gun Safety. While I have no problem with a gun control advocacy group, their inflated statistical claims make it so I can’t take them seriously.

Dumbasses of 2017: Everyone who got offended over this picture thinking either WalMart did it on purpose or that they somehow endorsed school shootings.

Biggest Jackass Celebrity of 2017: It’s a tie. While calling him a celebrity is being generous, our first ‘winner’ is Scott Baio for him allegedly believing that Sandy Hook never happened. Our co-winner is a repeat performer in Johnny Depp for when the alleged domestic abuser told triple child killer Damien Echols that he would ‘catch his heart’.

Hey look at me. I got this done in time in 75% of American time zones.

Aztec High shooter was racist gamer

Aztec High shooter was racist gamer

I know this is an old story, but I’ve been busy working behind the scenes on the website. You should probably be used to my long absences for whatever reason by now. I’m hoping to decrease such absences in 2018, but I’m not the story here.

In my previous post about the shooting at Aztec High in New Mexico that left students Casey Jordan-Marquez and Francisco “Paco” Fernandez dead, I said I wouldn’t be surprised if the shooter, 21-year-old William Atchison, wasn’t a trilby-wearing Gamergater. While not criminal profiling on the level of professionals, I was right.

A little less than a week after the shooting, The Daily Beast published an article detailing a lot of Atchison’s internet activity. While the actual wearing of a Trilby has not been confirmed, Atchison’s internet rantings are what you’d probably expect. He was active on such white supremacist sites like the Daily Stormer and the like. He was also an admin at known troll site Encyclopedia Dramatica.

As also was mentioned before, Atchison posted racist diatribes in a video game community, and at the time I wondered what game site it was. It turns out, it was the gaming platform Steam. For those of you who may not know, Steam is the platform on the internet to purchase video games for your PC. They also have sections for game reviews and game communities. Motherboard has a great article on Atchison’s Steam activity. Atchison seems to have a problem with the first person shooter Wolfenstein, a game franchise where the goal of the game has always been to kill Nazis.

“It was revolutionary for [its] time,” he wrote of the Nazi-killing first person shooter Wolfenstein 3D back in 2015. “The problem i have with it is the fact that you spend the entire game killing germans – killing white people.” The review then goes on to defend Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany’s systematic extermination of Jews.

It also turns out Atchison was a fan of Doom II. Doom was infamously known as the favorite game of the Columbine cowards of Harris and Klebold. In his Doom II activity, Atchison referred to Columbine as ‘LOLumbine’. Also not surprising, Atchison was a fan of the controversial game Hatred, which I originally discussed here.

Now while I haven’t heard video games being blamed for the Aztec High shooting, I have to reiterate that video games do not turn people into violent psychopaths. Video games did not turn Atchison into a racist loser who blamed his own shortcomings on people who were different from him.

“How am I supposed to function in this world? Wherever I go, I see degeneracy. Pointless materialism, hedonism, sexual decay, dirty n**gers who do nothing but slowly break down this society etc. it’s fucking everywhere. No way to escape it, 99% of people are part of it and whatever I do I am confronted with the death of the West. Go to the store and buy groceries in peace? Nope, here’s a group of LGBT liberal filth in line with you. And there’s a n**ger family with 10 kids over there. And a Finn too, but he’s overweight as fuck and he’s buying alcohol and shit junk food. Fucking fantastic.

I also think it goes without saying that Atchison was a columbiner as well, a person who is a fan of school shooters. So once again we have yet another copycat without an original thought in his head who followed his cowardly heroes into hell.

Also in my previous post I mentioned how the FBI paid Atchison a visit after he pposted a vague school shooting threat online. Unfortunately, the FBI didn’t have any real evidence of any plot so they couldn’t arrest him for anything. Sadly, I know too well what that’s all about as Dawson College gunman Kimveer Gill was once a troll on my website. Never once did Gill ever tip his hand on this website to his plans.

So what can we do about outliers like Atchison? Tragically, there is no answer. You can try to reach out to people like this but unfortunately sometimes they’re so ingrained in their ideologies that there is no way to help them. It doesn’t help that too many people like to settle into their comfort bubbles online where everyone else has the same opinions as them. The best we can do is to try to teach the following generations the best we can not to waste your life on hate and that we are all responsible for our own actions. The world doesn’t owe you anything and if you want to change your situation, man up and do it the right way, by working towards it. You can make the world better by making yourself better.

South Carolina. School goes into lockdown over someone flashing gang signs on Snapchat. Overreaction? Discuss.

Threat At Wilde Lake High School Was ‘Joke’: Student:
Another threat posted to Snapchat. Student claimed it was a joke. Jokes are supposed to be funny Junior.

Deputies investigating threat at South Florence High:
A picture of a rifle and the phrase ‘South Florence Massacre’ was posted to Snapchat (I’m detecting a theme) aimed at South Florence High School in South Carolina.

Deputies search Wilson High School following threat on social media, no devices found:
The next day, also in Florence, South Carolina, police locked down Wilson High School following a threat of a Columbine-like attack that was posted on social media, probably Snapchat. No devices or weapons were found at the school.

Police Investigate Snapchat Gun Threat At Grosse Pointe North High School:
Ok, this is just getting repetitive now. The student allegedly said he was trying to get the school to close for the day. No arrests have been made yet.

Suspect accused of beating girl and shaving her bald for being on Snapchat

Suspect accused of beating girl and shaving her bald for being on Snapchat

Alex Harrison

You know, I’m not a big fan of Facebook. I’m tired of all the political arguing, the overt racism, and overall ignorance of a ton of people on it. However, it has been known to expose child abusers in our midst as many of them are stupid enough to post their abuse on Facebook thinking it’s normal behavior.

For example, take 33-year-old Alex J. Harrison of Ferriday, Louisiana. He’s accused of allegedly beating a 14 or 15-year-old girl and then shaving her head bald, all because she installed Snapchat on her phone. Harrison is then said to have posted a video of the abuse on Facebook for the world to see.

At the beginning of the footage, he said: ‘She wanna be grown, she getting her a** whooped n her hair bald. School is for work not f****** Snapchat. She ain’t got no business with no damn snap anyway. Stay tuned.’

He then reportedly whipped the girl with a belt around 50 times while verbally abusing her. After which he sat her down in a chair and shaved her head bald.

‘This is what it means to be grown,’ he said.

This isn’t discipline. This is outright child abuse. This is what they do in prison camps under totalitarian regimes. You know what else being grown means? Being able to have a rational discussion with your child about social media without resorting to something out of V for Vendetta. I totally understand not wanting to have your kid on something like Snapchat. That’s your prerogative, but instead of violently whipping a girl who can’t defend herself, how about being a real man and handling it in such a way that doesn’t result in child abuse, bloodshed, and worldwide humiliation. This isn’t even taking into account that this fool is a damn hypocrite for posting a video on Facebook that I’m sure is a thousand times worse than anything the girl posted on Snapchat.

Facebook states that if you see a child being abused on Facebook to call police and report the video or photos to them.

Here’s a good article from the University of Texas on how to talk to your kids about social media.

Marriage counselor craigslist creeper loved all the big taboos

Marriage counselor craigslist creeper loved all the big taboos

Ian Alexander Pincombe

49-year-old Ian Alexander Pincombe of Las Vegas, Nevada, was recently convicted on child porn and child solicitation charges stemming from his 2014 arrest. None of the articles I found elaborated on the child porn charges, so I’m just going to focus on the child solicitation charges, and boy is there a story to those.

Pincombe was a marriage counselor who posted an ad on craigslist’s casual encounters section that said the following…

“Hi ladies. Are you up for meeting for a fun time? 420 Nudism kinky times, no limits and NO Taboos”

Police in nearby Henderson responded to the ad posing as a 13-year-old girl who apparently did not dissuade Pincombe in the slightest. Pincombe told the ‘girl’ he had been with a 14-year-old girl who he justified by saying 14 was the age of consent in Canada. Canada’s age of consent used to be 14, but it was raised to 16 in 2008. Anyway, Pincombe was not shy about what he wanted from the ‘girl’…

Pincombe inquired about what the officer thought about “taboo desires,” incest, child love and animals. “OK. Well those are all the big taboos left in society… Lol, I love them all,” he wrote.

At one point, Pincombe said that although the girl was 13, he would had liked for her to act like a 5, 7 or 8 year-old, according to the complaint.

Yep, I’m pretty sure we all need showers now. For those of you who may not be in the know, the term ‘child love’ is used by pedophiles to try to make their tendency to rape children seem more palatable.

Pincombe’s sentencing is scheduled for March and he is looking at a potential term of life behind bars.

The casual encounters section of craigslist needs to be eliminated. All it is anymore is the place where sexual predators look for potential victims. Yet craigslist allows it to flourish and fester so they can get more traffic driven to their site, and more traffic means more money for them.

Backpage child pimp accused of raping 15-year-old runaway

Backpage child pimp accused of raping 15-year-old runaway

Courtney D. Johnson

Just because Backpage is embroiled in a legal battle for survival with the U.S. Congress doesn’t mean it’s still not a major avenue for the online sexual slavery of women and children.

For example, 28-year-old Courtney D. Johnson was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, for allegedly prostituting a 15-year-old runaway girl on Backpage. It wasn’t bad enough that Johnson was turning the girl out online, but when the girl said she didn’t want to work for Johnson anymore, he reportedly beat her and raped her. Johnson is also said to have instructed the girl to lie about her age. He also kept all the money the girl made.

Not to beat a dead horse, but so much for consenting adults that I’m constantly being told about. Anyone with a burner phone and a gift card can traffic someone on Backpage. Yet somehow, Backpage continues to argue that the peddling of human beings into sexual slavery is their right to free speech.

Craigslist creeper was looking for discreet, hot, fun

Craigslist creeper was looking for discreet, hot, fun

Alex Bawek

The Dread Pirate Roberts’ douchier younger brother up there is 28-year-old Alex Bawek of South Dakota. He was arrested by police in Altoona, Wisconsin for allegedly soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl on craigslist. Bawek was said to have posted an ad looking for discreet, hot, fun. Discreet is a code word for ‘please don’t be a cop’. Fortunately cops often disregard such codes, like they did in this instance.

Police in Altoona responded to Bawek’s ad as a 14-year-old girl, to which he said “I bid you good day.” Just kidding. He asked for pictures of the girl and told her what sex acts he wanted to do to her. He was in possession of a box of condoms when he was arrested which kind of negates any kind of “I just wanted to hang out” kind of excuse.

This is your clientele craigslist. A bunch of desperate men looking to ‘have sex’ (child rape) with underage children. If you even just moderated some of your ads, it could have the effect of discouraging other predators from using your website.

10-year-old boy fends off sister’s Instagram stalker

10-year-old boy fends off sister's Instagram stalker

Michael Maurice Williams

I come from an age when if you were on the internet you never used your real name, hence the reason I’ve been using a pseudonym for 20 years. But today, people not only use their real names but some post almost every aspect of their lives onto social media. One of the many drawbacks to having such an active social media presence is stalking.

25-year-old Michael Maurice Williams of Delray Beach, Florida, is accused of allegedly breaking into the Boynton Beach home of a 20-year-old woman with a burgeoning music career he was following on Instagram. Williams is said to have repeatedly tried to stare into the woman’s bedroom, but one night late in November, Williams reportedly entered her home through the bedroom window, forced the woman down on the bed and tried to forcibly remove her clothing. I’m just going to go ahead and call that attempted rape even though that charge was not mentioned in any of the articles I read.

Williams was foiled by the woman’s 10-year-old brother who charged at him with a knife. Williams pushed the boy away but the woman and her brother were able to force Williams out of the home. Now that’s a brave kid. Williams is currently being held without bail.

While Williams is ultimately responsible for his own twisted actions, social media, much like anything else, should only be indulged in moderation for safety reasons alone.
