Chanel Petro-Nixon's accused killer has kidnapping charges dropped

Veron Primus

As mentioned previously, Veron Primus of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been charged with the 2006 murder of Chanel Petro-Nixon in Brooklyn. He was deported back to St. Vincent after doing time in a New York prison for violating a restraining order. While in St. Vincent he was arrested and charged with the murder of 24-year-old real estate agent Sharleen Greaves. He had also been charged for the alleged kidnapping, false imprisonment and rape of another woman but those charges have been withdrawn in the Vincentian courts. Prosecutors withdrew the charges after the victim did not offer any evidence. That’s not to say that the crimes didn’t happen.

My concern is that since evidence from the kidnapping investigation led authorities to connect Primus to both murders of Chanel and Sharleen Greaves, how will the withdraw of the kidnapping charges affect the prosecution of both murders going forward?
