For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the story of Erica Parsons, you can read all about it here. However, to sum up, Erica was 13 in 2011 when she went missing from her home in Salisbury, North Carolina. She wasn’t reported missing until 2013. Her adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, continued to collect Erica’s government benefits while she was missing. Casey Parsons claimed Erica went to live with her biological grandmother ‘Nan’ who didn’t actually exist. The couple was eventually sent to prison for fraud but in 2016, Sandy Parsons led authorities to Erica’s remains. Both Parsonses have been charged with Erica’s murder.
In my last post about Erica, I lamented that since North Carolina hasn’t executed anyone in 12 years, it’s doubtful either of the Parsonses would receive the death penalty. However, back in the beginning of April, Rowan County prosecutors stated they will seek the death penalty against Erica’s adoptive father, Sandy Parsons.
While he certainly deserves it for the amount of abuse and violence he allegedly inflicted on Erica, I would imagine that prosecutors are hoping for a guilty plea from Sandy Parsons in exchange for a life sentence. So far, even a month later, no deal has been made. I still think a death sentence would be hard to obtain since Erica’s autopsy couldn’t discern an exact cause of death outside of “homicidal violence of undetermined means.”
Seven years after her disappearance, two years after her remains had been found, and on almost what would have been her 20th birthday, Erica Parsons‘ adoptive parents have finally been charged with first-degree murder in her death.
Erica went missing in 2011 from her home in Salisbury, North Carolina, but wasn’t reported missing for two more years. Her adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, have claimed that Erica went to live with her biological grandmother in Asheville, North Carolina. While Erica was missing her adoptive parents continued to collect benefits in Erica’s name. Both Sandy and Casey Parsons are currently serving time in federal prison for fraud.
This past Monday, a grand jury in Rowan County, North Carolina, handed down an indictment charging the Parsonses with first-degree murder, felony child abuse inflicting serious injury, felony concealment of death and felony obstruction of justice.
According to the indictment, the Parsonses “did knowingly and willfully dismember and destroy human remains of Erica Lynn Parsons, by any means, including removing body parts and otherwise obliterating any portion thereof.”
Thankfully, they’re already in prison so no one has to look far for them. North Carolina does have the death penalty and first-degree murder is a capital offense. However, due to the fact that the autopsy couldn’t discern an exact cause of death, and that North Carolina hasn’t executed anyone in 12 years, I doubt either of the Parsonses will receive the punishment they deserve.
Back in late January, just days after the shooting at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, that left two dead, a cache of weapons was found in the bedroom of a 14-year-old student of Uniontown Area High School in Pennsylvania. Police were tipped off to the juvenile suspect after another student recorded the suspect making a threat against the school. Whenever one of these stories breaks you always wonder where these kids get the guns from. Well, wonder no more.
The boy’s mother, 45-year-old Lenora Ann Hendrix, has been charged with knowingly and intentionally delivering or providing a firearm to a minor. When asked why she would give a 14-year-old an arsenal of weapons she allegedly replied to teach him responsibility and to “let him grow up.” Guess what, lady. He was neither responsible nor grown up.
While a parent being charged for giving their kids guns that would be used in a school shooting is rare, it’s not unheard of. On the other side of the Keystone State, in Montgomery County, Michelle Cossey was sentenced to four months in prison and five years probation for illegally obtaining guns for her home-schooled son Dillon who plotted an attack against Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School near Philadelphia.
I understand gun culture is different in rural America than in it is in urban areas. I understand allowing one of your children to possibly have a rifle to go hunting if they have an adult to go hunting with to teach them how to responsibly handle a gun. However, allowing your son to keep a semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun, two machetes, throwing knives, two lever-action rifles, a revolver, a crossbow with arrows, and bulk ammunition in his room only teaches him to be selfish and violent.
I’ve not made it any secret that I smoked cigarettes for 30 years. I used several different methods to try to quit. Patches, gum, and a stupid little alarm clock that was supposed to wean me off cigarettes but was about as effective as an actual alarm clock. Then after one too many cigarettes sent me to the ER, I finally kicked the smoking habit for good by using e-cigarettes and eventually vaping. In those 5 years, I haven’t even had a single cheat cigarette, granted I still have a nicotine addiction I’m trying to shake.
One of the biggest problems with vaping is it’s a douchey activity. Just the terms vape and vaping sound douchey, the equipment looks douchey, the names of the flavors of the juices sound douchey, and the people who complain about not being able to vape inside establishments claiming ‘I’m not smoking, I’m vaping’ are incredibly douchey. Then there are douchebags like 30-year-old Dustin Appenzeller of Racine, Wisconsin who aren’t helping matters.
This guy can’t be for real. Anyone with an iota of intelligence knows nicotine is a stimulant. You don’t give kids meth when they can’t sleep do you? That’s not even taking into account that nicotine poisoning is a real thing which is another reason why so many politicians are down on vaping. Politicians are afraid kids will drink the juice considering many of them have candy-like flavors, and this assclown just goes ahead and gives it to his kid.
Normally, I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone, but it would be no skin off of my nose if this guy started smoking four packs of Luckys a day.
If a child has consumed nicotine juice call the American Association of Poison Control Centers at 1-800-222-1222 or online at PoisonHelp.org.
Recently, the autopsy results of Erica Parsons were made public. Erica went missing in 2011 from her home in Salisbury, North Carolina, but wasn’t reported missing for two more years. Her adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, have claimed that Erica went to live with her biological grandmother in Asheville, North Carolina. While Erica was missing her adoptive parents continued to collect benefits for Erica and are now serving federal prison sentences for fraud. In 2016, Erica’s adoptive father Sandy, led police to where her remains had been buried.
According to the report, which was released Tuesday, Erica was tortured and malnourished, and suffered through beatings that were so horrific they broke her bones. The medical examiner discovered she had broken and fractured bones from her face to her fingers.
In the report, the medical examiner says it’s possible Erica died from blunt force, suffocation or strangulation and classified her cause of death as “homicidal violence of undetermined means.”
According to the autopsy report, in the week before her 2011 disappearance, Erica’s siblings described her as looking gray with sunken eyes, smelling bad with open, oozing cuts, very weak and complaining of not being able to breathe.
The autopsy report showed that Erica suffered multiple blunt force injuries over a prolonged period of time, and a growth deficit and low bone density show she was malnourished.
North Carolina does currently have the death penalty, but there’s been a moratorium since 2006. There are three women currently on North Carolina’s death row. It will depend on the charges brought against the Parsonses if they will be eligible for the death penalty.
You know, I’m not a big fan of Facebook. I’m tired of all the political arguing, the overt racism, and overall ignorance of a ton of people on it. However, it has been known to expose child abusers in our midst as many of them are stupid enough to post their abuse on Facebook thinking it’s normal behavior.
For example, take 33-year-old Alex J. Harrison of Ferriday, Louisiana. He’s accused of allegedly beating a 14 or 15-year-old girl and then shaving her head bald, all because she installed Snapchat on her phone. Harrison is then said to have posted a video of the abuse on Facebook for the world to see.
At the beginning of the footage, he said: ‘She wanna be grown, she getting her a** whooped n her hair bald. School is for work not f****** Snapchat. She ain’t got no business with no damn snap anyway. Stay tuned.’
He then reportedly whipped the girl with a belt around 50 times while verbally abusing her. After which he sat her down in a chair and shaved her head bald.
‘This is what it means to be grown,’ he said.
This isn’t discipline. This is outright child abuse. This is what they do in prison camps under totalitarian regimes. You know what else being grown means? Being able to have a rational discussion with your child about social media without resorting to something out of V for Vendetta. I totally understand not wanting to have your kid on something like Snapchat. That’s your prerogative, but instead of violently whipping a girl who can’t defend herself, how about being a real man and handling it in such a way that doesn’t result in child abuse, bloodshed, and worldwide humiliation. This isn’t even taking into account that this fool is a damn hypocrite for posting a video on Facebook that I’m sure is a thousand times worse than anything the girl posted on Snapchat.
Facebook states that if you see a child being abused on Facebook to call police and report the video or photos to them.
In Henderson, Nevada, 53-year-old Wendell Melton is accused of allegedly shooting and killing his 14-year-old son, Giovanni Melton. Giovanni was openly gay, and by most accounts was well-liked by his friends and classmate. Many of the headlines on this story are saying that Wendell Melton killed Giovanni because he was gay, however, it’s not that clear just yet. That’s not to say that Wendell Melton isn’t a Grade-A monster.
The reason Giovanni’s sexual orientation has been making headlines is because Giovanni’s foster mother said Wendell Melton hated his son for being gay. According to the foster mother, Wendell Melton once pulled a gun on his son after finding Giovanni with his boyfriend. The foster mother believes that Wendell Melton “would rather have a dead son than a gay son.” Wendell Melton claims he shot his son in self-defense, however, police have said Wendell Melton changed his story several times. Police also think Wendell Melton drew his weapon before he was in any alleged danger.
So as of right now, the motive in the shooting is not 100% conclusive, but for the sake of argument let’s say Giovanni was shot by his father for being gay. I am close in age to Wendell Melton. There was a time when I was much younger when I was a legitimate homophobe. As I gained more experience in the world and experienced different cultures and lifestyles I realized something. How does someone being gay affect you? It doesn’t, unless you’re a close-minded bigot. To all the men who feel the need to put up some kind of super macho persona, having a gay son doesn’t make you any less of a man. As a matter of fact, if you have gay children and accept them, that makes you more of a man and more of a father.
James Howard Chalkley, 32, and Cheyanne Chalkley, 22, of Converse, Texas, were taken into custody this past Monday after a court hearing over the removal of the children from their home. Why were the children removed? We’ll get there in a moment. However, just for clarification’s sake, James Chalkley is the children’s father while his wife is their stepmother.
Now here’s a list of all the ways James Chalkely allegedly abused his two daughters, ages 10 and 5.
They were often hit with switches made from a lemon tree in their backyard and sometimes the switches had thorns.
The 10-year-old had her head shoved into a wall.
Both girls had their heads held in the toilet.
The 5-year-old was forced to wear shock collars for dogs on her arms and legs.
When a cat had defecated in the closet, Chalkley allegedly punished the girls for not cleaning it up by smearing it on their faces and making them brush their teeth with the cat feces. Once so hard until one of the girl’s mouth bled.
The wicked stepmother is no better. She often allegedly took part in the abuse and did nothing to stop it. In fact, when asked by Chalkley if she thought he was hitting the kids ‘too much’, she allegedly replied with ‘If they were my kids I’d hit them more’. That’s paraphrased but you get the idea.
First off, if you have to ask if you’re hitting your kids too much, the answer is always yes. Once is too many. Secondly, as I have asked so many times in the past, where do these people find each other? Is there some kind of dating app for child abusers? ChildBeatersOnly.com? Abusr? Plenty of Abuse?
Thankfully, one of their teachers saw the bruises on one of the girls and notified authorities. If you live in Texas and suspect someone of child abuse, you can contact the Texas Abuse Hotline at (800) 252-5400 or at their website.
Now before you get all riled and outraged at this turn of events, like I was when all I read was the attention-grabbing headline, let me fill you in on how this happened.
Apparently, the child’s mother, who is now 21, applied for state assistance in Michigan and was receiving food stamps and healthcare for her son. I guess when you’re allowed to quit school at 12 and try to raise a baby, your chances of employment capable of sustaining you and your child are greatly diminished, but I digress, as Trench would say.
All states’ departments of social services attempt to recover assistance funds to single parents by establishing paternity and subsequent child support payments for their children. Once paternity is established, the other parent is routinely awarded parenting time and joint legal custody. According to Mirasalo’s attorney, this is what occurred here and none of this was initiated by him. Keep in mind that joint legal custody does not equal joint residential custody.
I am not AT ALL forgiving this monster for raping and impregnating a 12-year-old when he was 18 himself and way old enough to know better. BUT, I have a lot of questions as to how things got to the point they are at today:
1. Mirasalo kept the 12-year-old and her sister almost hostage-like for 2 days…was a missing child report filed?
2. Who allows a 12-year-old to make the decision to drop out of school and attempt to raise a BABY? Really?
3. What has the child been told about who his father is?
4. Is this turn of events all because the victim applied for state assistance?
5. Does Mirasalo even want contact with the child? He’s been out of prison for similar charges since 2014; chances are if he hasn’t made contact in the past 3+ years, he probably wasn’t going to.
6. Can’t Mirasalo just relinquish his parental rights if he wants to?
There’s always more behind the sensationalist headlines.
27-year-old Christopher Kuhn, of Hamilton, New Jersey, is a heartless selfish bastard of the highest order. Not only did he allegedly cause the motor vehicle accident that killed his own 2-year-old son, but the reason he did it was so petty it’s almost hard to believe.
Kuhn was said to have tried to shoplift a soundbar for a TV from a WalMart in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He reportedly had his 2-year-old son, Qadan Kuhn, in tow. When security saw Kuhn trying to steal the $228 speaker, Kuhn tried using his son as a human shield to put distance between him and security. When Kuhn made it to the parking lot he put his son in the vehicle and took the time to put a sweatshirt over the license plate. What he didn’t take the time to do was secure his son into the vehicle in any way.
While fleeing the scene, Kuhn ran a red light where he was t-boned by another vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to roll and his son to be ejected from the vehicle. Then comes one of the most heartless things I’ve ever read.
Authorities told CBS Philly that as his son lay dying in the street, Kuhn walked over to the small boy — then stepped over his body and fled on foot.
A 2-year-old boy now lies dead just so this assclown could get better sound out of his TV without having to pay for it. What makes you think you deserve to take anything for free? What have you accomplished in your life that entitles you to anything? It’s obviously not your parenting or domestic skills since you’ve been arrested for holding a screwdriver to Qadan’s mother’s throat while she held him. You are lower than vermin and didn’t deserve to have any kind of guardianship over that poor child who died in such a violent manner. It’s too bad that in Pennsylvania you’re only looking at a max of 40 years for third-degree murder charges. Hopefully the ancillary charges of theft, homicide by vehicle and endangering the welfare of children will keep you incarcerated for the rest of your wretched and worthless life.
