Update on if Kik kreeper David Bryan Poplin is a fugitive

Update on if Kik kreeper David Bryan Poplin is a fugitive

David Bryan Poplin

Shortly before the new year, I posted about David Bryan Poplin who is accused of grooming an 8-year-old girl from Pennsylvania over messaging app Kik in 2015. Since then I hadn’t heard anything about Poplin but an anonymous reader sent me an article that said he was caught grooming other girls in Argentina. He did some time in Argentina and was deported in October of last year but I was unable to find if he had been apprehended in the United States.

In my previous post, I asked if anyone had any information about Poplin’s legal status to send it to me. Well, the anonymous reader came through again. I was sent a link to a court document from Pennsylvania that states Poplin is, in fact, a fugitive from the law.  If the link disappears I have posted the doc below.

Hopefully, we’ll be hearing about his arrest sooner rather than later.

Again, if you have any information on Poplin’s whereabouts please do not post it in the comments but contact me instead. Any communication with me will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Again I ask that you do not take matters into your own hands.

Where in the world is Kik kreeper David Bryan Poplin?

Where in the world is Kik kreeper David Bryan Poplin?

David Bryan Poplin

Before we even get started with this story I want to stress that I don’t want this turning into a Facebook lynch mob type of situation. I don’t want anyone taking matters into their own hands. Let the police do their job. However, I am looking for some information.

Back in 2015, I posted about David Bryan Poplin from Durham, North Carolina. He is a registered sex offender who allegedly used Kik and Instagram to groom an 8-year-old Pennsylvania girl. After I made that post, Poplin became more or less an afterthought to me. I just assumed he had been arrested in Durham and was extradited to Pennsylvania. However, that may not be the case.

An anonymous reader sent me a tip that Poplin was deported from Argentina back in October after being caught allegedly grooming two 13-year-old girls there. (If your Spanish is a little rusty you’ll need Google Translate.) In Argentina, Poplin allegedly used WhatsApp, which is more internationally used than in the US, and Instagram to groom these girls and coerce them into sending him explicit pictures.

So, the first question is what was he doing in Argentina in the first place? Was he not arrested in Durham back in 2015? If he was deported from Argentina where is he now? The US and Argentina do have an extradition treaty but I was unable to find Poplin in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or federal inmate searches.

So the question remains, where is he?

If you have any information on the status of any pending legal action against Poplin in the US or his whereabouts, please do not post it in the comments but contact me instead. Any communication with me will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Again I ask that you do not take matters into your own hands. I just want to know if Poplin is on his way to trial or not.

FBI seeks information on prolific social media predator

FBI seeks information on prolific social media predator

Nikko Adolfo Perez

The FBI is looking for more victims of Nikko Adolfo Perez of Atwater, California. Perez has been indicted on several counts of crimes relating to children and social media including receipt of child porn. The 26-year-old Perez is believed to have used a number of social media platforms including Omegle, Instagram, Snapchat, and Kik, among others to coerce children into sending him explicit pictures.

Two victims of Perez are already known and they are two boys from Utah ages 8 and 10. Perez allegedly befriended his victims using the screen name of ‘captainamerica272018’ He was also said to have offered his victims credit on the Google Play Store to send him the pictures and if that didn’t work he would threaten their families with violence. These are the usual tactics of many online predators. The FBI believes that Perez may have more victims and are asking for the public’s help in finding them.

Please contact the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) and selecting the option for the Nikko Adolfo Perez investigation. You may also contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

In order to protect your children from predators like this, you have to know that none of the apps and websites mentioned above are suitable for children. The terms of service of these platforms set the minimum age of usage at 13 and even that’s too young for some of these social apps in my opinion. 8 and 10 are way too young for any child to be on any of these apps unsupervised. If you’re letting your kids run free on these apps you may as well just look up the nearest sex offender on your local registry and drop your kids off at their house.

Ohio Kik kreeper posed as a preteen girl and a grown man to get nudes from 12-year-old girl

Christopher Goodin

Just because it’s been months since I posted a story about Kik doesn’t mean all their predators have been inactive. For example, 33-year-old Christopher Goodin of Elyria, Ohio, is accused of allegedly posing as a 12-year-old girl and the fake girl’s abusive bully in order to extort nudes from a 12-year-old girl over the mobile messaging app. Using the name ‘Shorty853’ on Kik. Goodin is said to have befriended a 12-year-old Utah girl through Kik. He was then able to solicit explicit pictures of the girl. In order to keep receiving the images ‘Shorty853’ told the girl that an older man was bullying her and that the only way to get him to stop was to send the older man more images. Using the name ‘Sambamo1’ on Kik, Goodin harassed the 12-year-old Utah girl into sending more images to that username. The victim allegedly told her mother and Goodin was arrested by the FBI.

Although this is nothing new for this website, this story shows what lengths these online predators will go to in order to ensnare their underage prey. No amount of chicanery is too outlandish or far-fetched for these cretins to try to worm their way in your child’s life. And once again I have to advise any parents out there that no 12-year-old should ever be on Kik. You may trust your kids but you can’t trust all the sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors who use Kik as their collective grooming grounds.

Kik kreeper tried luring NY girl to L.A. on a bus

Kik kreeper tried luring NY girl to L.A. on a bus

What is it with child predators and buses? Since the days of MySpace, I’ve been posting stories about how either the predator traveled to meet the victim by bus or tried to have their victim come to them by bus. It’s probably because a passenger doesn’t necessarily need an ID to travel across the country on a bus. According to the website of a certain bus line, you can buy a ticket for a passenger and all they need to give at the counter is a password that was established ahead of time and that’s it. It’s almost like pizza delivery for pedophiles.

For example, 28-year-old Carlos Francisco Lopez of Los Angeles was recently arrested for allegedly trying to lure a girl from Western New York State to his home. Police in Tonawanda, New York, were able to locate the girl and get her off the bus before it took off for L.A.

Lopez is said to have met the girl on the mobile messaging app Kik in a chat room for runaway teens. In the past, I have occasionally mentioned that Kik is infested with sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors. To have a chat group for runaway teens on Kik is like putting out a flashing neon sign that says “LOST KIDS HERE, PEDOPHILES WELCOME”.

It wasn’t enough for Lopez to make the girl travel cross-country on a bus, but after police posed as the girl in a conversation with Lopez, he was reportedly going to send an Uber to pick her up from the bus station.

On Jan. 18, an undercover law enforcement officer posed as the victim to continue to communicate with the individual that police identified as Lopez. The officer wrote, “hey u there … this bus ride sucks.” The undercover officer stated she was due into California around 10 p.m. on Jan. 19 and asked what to do upon arrival.

Police said Lopez replied, “call me or text me. Wait at the station, and ill send an uber.” Lopez was arrested after the officer sent a message that the bus had arrived and he reportedly ordered an Uber.

Lopez is also a registered sex offender in California where he was convicted in 2011 for a sexual offense against a child under the age of 14. So if convicted, Lopez will be a sex offender in two states, however, he may not get to be on any new registry since he’s facing life in prison. Speaking of registries and prison, I’m glad to see his last conviction set him on the straight and narrow after obviously being rehabilitated. Seriously though, these scumbags should be kept in prison for much longer than they are. Once a creeper, always a creeper.

Kik announces safety board, not for the reason you think

Kik announces safety board, not for the reason you think

Kik, the mobile messaging app that’s home to sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors, recently announced they were forming a safety board. However, it seems like their motivation is more based in greed than user safety.

If you read not only this article from Venture Beat, but Kik’s press release as well, it seems the only reason they’re even discussing safety is because of the cryptocurrency Kin, they’re planning on launching.

“We’re bringing [the advisory panel] on now to help us inform this strategy, so as Kin evolves and there are a few iterations, we will have a wide breadth of expertise advising us on making these product decisions and the strategy decisions with Kin,” Kik’s head of trust and safety, Catherine Teitelbaum, told VentureBeat in a phone interview.

Kin will only be able to used by users who are over 18 but so far Kik hasn’t said how they’re going to verify ages. I’m not exactly a cryptocurrency expert, but I don’t see why a messaging app need its own version of Bitcoin. To me it sounds like it could be another tool that could be used by predators to groom their victims. “Hey kid, send me some pictures and I’ll give you some Kin”

Again, the only defense between your kids and online predators is you. App creators like Kik don’t really care about your kids and only care about the bottom line.

Mass. Kik kreeper wanted sex with 6-12 y.o. girls

Mass. Kik kreeper wanted sex with 6-12 y.o. girls

31-year-old William Shenette of Webster, Massachusetts, was arrested recently for allegedly trading child porn on the mobile messaging app Kik. No word on how authorities were tipped off to Shenette, however he was said to have been in possession of at least two child porn videos.

In addition to that, Shenette is also accused of sending an underage boy a picture of his junk, and chatted with someone on Kik saying he wanted to have sex with girls between the ages of 6 and 12 (child rape). None of this should come as any surprise as Kik is awash with sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors.

Kik is doing nothing to try to shed this image either. Don’t rely on them to protect your kids.

Eugene Martinez

20-year-old Eugene Joseph Martinez, of Lubbock, Texas, has been apprehended by federal authorities for allegedly trading child porn online. Martinez claims he joined a child trading porn group on the mobile messaging app Kik, and found the images unsettling. However, that didn’t stop him from trading and collecting child porn. You would think that Kik would be the ones who turned Martinez into authorities, but they weren’t. It was the cloud storage company Dropbox that contacted investigators. Dropbox said the account that Martinez is believed to have used, contained over 300 explicit images of prepubescent children.

Kik, really needs to rein in all the sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors that inhabit their platform. Back in the day, Yahoo Messenger used to have the same problem. While it took them years to finally get off their ass, Yahoo eventually got serious about shutting down chat rooms that were havens for predators and child porn. Kik needs to do that now, unless that’s all they want to be known for.

William Napolitano

William Napolitano was a Pasco County Schools transportation manager. That was before he was picked up by Homeland Security in a years long child porn investigation. HSI found Napolitano after busting a prolific child porn trader on Kik. Investigators say that Napolitano was in the trader’s contacts list. Napolitano was said to have used the alias of William Snyder and his Kik username was ‘routemeup’. Under that Kik user name he allegedly communicated with undercover investigators on Kik with subjects such as ‘Into yng rape’ and ‘Ynger the better.’

When investigators caught up with Napolitano, he was said to be in possession of lube, a ‘male-enhancement’ device, a screw driver and baby wipes. What some of these scumbags are caught with is almost as funny as the excuses they give. However, child porn is no laughing matter. Whenever one of thsee images is shared it’s like the victim is being violated all over again and Kik is one of the largest trading avenues of the vile material. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like Kik is in any hurry to discourage it.
