One of the stories I’m woefully behind on is this one out of Longmont, Colorado, where police say that 34-year-old Dynel Lane not only allegedly stabbed 26-year-old Michelle Wilkins but cut Ms. Wilkins’ baby from her womb. Ms. Wilkins was seven months pregnant at the time of the brutal crime.
Ms. Wilkins went to Lane’s residence after responding to a craigslist ad for baby clothes. If this sounds slightly familiar it’s because it’s eerily reminiscent of the murder of Heather Snively. Ms. Snively was stabbed to death by Korena Roberts in 2009 and then Roberts cut the baby from Ms. Snively’s womb. However in this instance Ms. Wilkins survived her injuries. Unfortunately her baby did not.
Lane has been charged with attempted murder however she has not been charged with murder in the death of Ms. Wilkins’ unborn baby since Colorado does not recognize an unborn child as a person unless it’s capable of surviving outside the womb. Take that for what you will.
UPDATE 2/23/2016:Dynel Lane has been convicted on all counts against her including attempted first-degree murder, assault and unlawful termination of a pregnancy. Sentencing is scheduled for late April.
As expected butchering mother and baby hosebeast Korena Roberts has pleaded guilty to the brutal murder of Heather Snively and cutting the unborn baby out of Heather’s womb.
Roberts was sentenced to life in prison without parole and as part as of her plea agreement she will not be able to appeal her sentencing. This plea was made more than likely to keep Roberts off of death row.
Roberts killed Snively after Roberts placed an ad on craigslist for baby clothes. Roberts told her friends and family that she was pregnant and tried to pass off Hetaher Snively’s baby as her own after brutally killing her.
You remember the hosebeast Korena Roberts of Beaverton, Oregon don’t you? Hard to forget a face like that. Anyway if you don’t remember I’ll remind you.
Back in 2009 Roberts allegedly posted an ad on craigslist for baby clothes. Through that ad she met 21-year-old Heather Snively who was pregnant at the time. Roberts gained Snively’s trust and allegedly bludgeoned her to death then cut Heather Snively open in order to steal her unborn baby.
Roberts called paramedics saying that she delivered a baby at home and the baby wasn’t breathing. When Roberts got to the hospital doctors determined that she had not given birth. By that time the baby was also deceased. When police searched Roberts’ home they found Heather Snively’s butchered body in the crawl space.
Now fast forward to this week. It seems her defense attorney tried to get the aggravated murder charges against Roberts dropped so his client wouldn’t have to face the death penalty. I wonder how some attorney’s are able to sleep at night when defending such evil. Anyway the judge would have no part of it rejecting the appeal.
If Roberts does get the death penalty it’s a shame she will die in a much more peaceful way then the torturous way she killed Heather Snively.
The woman accused of gutting Heather Snively like a fish then trying to steal her unborn child pleaded not guilty. The article said Korena Elaine Roberts was weeping while she made her plea. Not as hard as Heather Snively’s family is I’m sure.
Some more details have been released in the murder of Heather Snively but first I want to make a correction. Originally I had posted that it was Heather Snively who placed the craigslist ad for baby clothes but that was incorrect. It turns out that Korena Roberts was the one who placed the ad. So we can officially add her to the list of ‘alleged’ craigslist killers if you’re so inclined to call them that. I believe that would make her #10.
It has been confirmed that Roberts is believed to have cut Heather Snively’s unborn baby from the womb. Whether or not the baby was born alive will determine if a second murder charge will be filed.
Investigators are also saying that they have received calls from women claiming that Roberts approached them as well but police have yet to confirm that.
A preliminary autopsy report said that 21-year-old Heather Snively died not only from blunt force trauma but also from the report calls sharp force injuries. The report didn’t say how Heather Snively’s baby was delivered but considering the sharp force injuries I’m sure that the baby was cut from the womb. That’s purely speculation on my part.
As I’m sure you’ve heard Heather Snively met Korena Elaine Roberts (pictured) over craigslist where Heather was advertising a baby clothes exchange. Roberts is accused of killing Snively and trying to claim the baby as hers. Unfortunately the baby did not survive.
The next time someone asks me if craigslist is really dangerous I’m just going to point to Korena Roberts.
28-year-old Korena Elaine Roberts of Washington County, Oregon has been arrested in the death of 21-year-old Heather M. Snively and her unborn son.
Heather Snively was selling baby clothes on craigslist which is where it’s alleged that Roberts replied to her ad.
What happened between that meeting and this past Friday night is unknown. What is known is that 911 received a call from Roberts’ house claiming she had just delivered a baby and required medical assistance. Both Roberts and baby were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately the baby did not survive. At the hospital doctors determined that Roberts had not recently given birth. Between that, the amount of blood at the house and police discovering that someone else at the house may be injured they went back to the Roberts’ house to investigate.
In a crawl space of the house they discovered the body of Heather Snively who had been reported missing by her boyfriend who was also the baby’s father.
It’s unknown at this time how the baby was delivered.
Heather Snively had met Roberts through craigslist and thought she was 5 to 6 months pregnant and that they were just trading baby clothes.
Be careful when doing business online. You just never know who’s a crazy woman who wants to take your unborn baby.
