Berkeley hates Wal-Mart

Calif. taxpayers subsidize Wal-Mart workers, study finds

So am I really supposed to believe a study from the University of California Berkeley is unbiased? I don’t think so sunshine. Not to mention that this Associated Press article is equally as biased as the study…

…retailer’s underpaid workers…

…Wal-Mart’s paltry pay scale …

Like any finding from UCB is the gospel. Never mind that UCB is notoriously anti-capitalism and anti-corporation. Also, the byline is from San Francisco (go figure) which is a notorious anti-Wal Mart town. They make it sound like squads of Wal-Mart gestapo or driving around and rounding people up forcing them to work there for $9.70 an hour.

From the article…

UC Berkeley’s analysis, released Monday, is based on the premise that Wal-Mart’s paltry pay scale forces the retailer’s workers to supplement their incomes with Medicaid, food stamps and other taxpayer-backed assistance programs at an unusually high rate.

What they don’t tell you is most Wal-Mart employees are part-time and aren’t eligible for benefits. And how much do other residents of Kalifornia cost taxpayers? What about the illegals that use our healthcare system? What about all the sponges that abuse the welfare programs? How much do they cost taxpayers? What about K-Mart and Target?

This study was obviously pre-determined to make Wal-Mart look bad. Look, if you don’t like Wal-Mart don’t shop there. Consumer choice speaks louder than any study made by a socialism espousing university.
