SF Bay Area man accused of being social networking date rapist

Kwangmin Jin

Kwangmin Jin

20-year-old Kwangmin Jin of San Ramon, California, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting four women in the San Francisco Bay area, specifically Fremont, California. Drugging and sexual assault are the terms the article used but let’s call a spade a spade. That sounds a lot like date rape.

Anyway, Jin is said to have met the women over Tinder, Facebook, Mocospace and Skout. Skout is new to me but it appears to be just another dating app even though it says its purpose is to meet new people. He allegedly used the aliases of Kevin Park, Kevin Jin, Jeremy Lee and Kevin Lee. Once he met the women he’d offer them a drink that was reportedly spiked with an unnamed sedative drug. The women would pass out and Jin is said to have sexually assaulted them while unconscious. Again, that sounds an awful lot like date rape to me.

Of course Jin may have more victims…

Fremont police said there is evidence indicating that there are probably more victims throughout the Bay Area. Anyone who may have had contact with Jin is asked to contact police at (510) 790-6900.

Jin was arrested at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign where he was attending classes but so far there have been no mention of any victims in Illinois.

This story should serve as a reminder for both men and women regardless of sexual preference. Even though online dating has been a thing for close to 20 years now, if not longer, we’re still not at a place in our society where people you meet online can be trusted. Just from a safety standpoint online hook ups or one night stands should be avoided at all costs. I know that’s hard to say when you’re young and full of life and want to have fun. I get it I’ve been there and made some questionable decisions. Luckily none of them cost me any bodily harm. There’s a gamut of crimes that predators like this can commit from robbery to murder. It’s not worth losing your life over.

If you know someone who engages in this kind of risky behavior you may want to send them this story.

Toronto man charged with being craigslist date rapist

Eric Alexander

Man accused in Craigslist drugging and sex assault case:

Quasimodo over there is 48-year-old Eric Alexander of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Area police say that Alexander used craigslist to meet at least one woman in order to drug her and sexually assault her, or as most people call it, date rape.

According to reports Alexander and the woman went to a motel room where he allegedly spiked her drink before ‘sexually assaulting’ her. Since sexual assault has become such a vague term I’m going to assume it was rape. No word on whether or not if the victim was a craigslist pro but I imagine only money could get anyone to go back to a motel room with The Frog up there. That shouldn’t matter anyway because rape victim is a rape victim. And if she’s not a pro that’s one more reason out of a million as to why no one should use craigslist for hook ups. Too many creeps like this scumbag out there.

Seriously look at him. Makes me want to iron something.

Anyway Toronto police believe he may have other victims as well.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Sex Crimes Unit at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Craigslist isn’t safe people, not for anything.

Joseph Brooks commits suicide while facing craigslist sex charges

debbyboone

Oscar Winner Facing Sex Charges an Apparent Suicide:

I’ve posted about 73-year-old Joseph Brooks before. He’s the Oscar winning songwriter who wrote the Debby Boone hit “You Light Up My Life”. He was facing charges that he used craigslist to lure aspiring actresses to his New York City home where he would date rape them.

He’s no longer facing those charges as he took his own life using a plastic bag and a helium tank this past weekend. Thanks for saving the taxpayers of New York further expenses.

It doesn’t matter how rich they may be, criminals will always flock to craigslist.

Green Bay MySpace date raper sentenced

mcsheader2+copy

30-year-old  LeRoy Hewuse of Green Bay, Wisconsin was arrested back in November of 2009 for drugging a woman he had met on MySpace then raping her.

Hewuse met the woman on Myspace then met her at a bar where he went by the name of Dan, convinced her he ran a massage business, offered her ‘employment’, went back to her place so he could use her computer, then offered her a massage and a ‘vitamin’. The next thing the victim knows she wakes up with no clothes on and puking her guts up. There were other victims as well that found themselves in similar situations.

For that he only got 18 years on charges of second-degree sexual assault of intoxicated victims. Charges of second-degree sexual assault of unconscious victims an. d three counts of possession of child pornography were dismissed.
This guy is nothing more than a serial rapist and the law is treating these scumbags with kid gloves again.

The MySpace date raping coach

High School Coach Accused of Sexually Assaulting Student:

</a</aMoorpark coach is charged with rape:

23-year-old Christopher Atkinson of Thousand Oaks, California is/was a a campus supervisor and a baseball coach at Moorpark High School.

He’s been charged with rape by use of drugs, oral copulation by anesthesia or a controlled substance, and unlawful sexual intercourse. That makes it sound like he used chloroform and a rag but he may have well has. Atkinson allegedly got a 15-year-old female student of the school so drunk at his home that he was able to rape the girl.

Not only do police say that Atkinson used MySpace to keep in touch with his victim prior to the rape but used MySpace to invite another 15-year-old girl to drink with him on the day of the rape of the first girl.

At least this scumbag can’t try the she said she was 18 defense not like that ever works anyway. I’d love to see him try it though. You know that some lawyer will be more than willing to actually try that defense.

Joseph Brooks out on bail

‘You Light Up My Life’ Songwriter Makes Bail in Sexual Assault Case:

I originally posted about Joseph Brooks here and here. He’s the 70-year-old guy who wrote the song You Light Up My Life. He’s also accused of advertising for actresses on craigslist and ‘forcing himself’ on them. By forcing himself they mean date raping. Again for some reason the media doesn’t like to use the word rape for some reason.

Anyway the Oscar award-winning alleged date rapist is out on bail. He’s accused of raping anywhere between 11 and 13 women. Nothing like allowing an alleged serial rapist out on the streets.

Green Bay MySpace date raper

Green Bay man charged with drugging, raping woman he met on MySpace:

Police in De Pere, Wisc. arrested 29-year-old Leroy Hewuse of Green Bay on charges of raping a woman he met over MySpace.

Hewuse allegedly met the woman on Myspace then met her at a bar where he went by the name of Dan, convinced her he ran a massage business, offered her ’employment’, went back to her place so he could use her computer, then offered her a massage and a ‘vitamin’. The next thing the victim knows she wakes up with no clothes on and puking her guts up.

You know for all the money and effort he put into his plot he could have gotten himself a hooker, or a haircut, or a gym membership.

Police believe he may also be behind other attacks in the area.

Guth said investigators believe there may be other victims involved. He asks that anyone involved in a similar situation call De Pere police at (920) 339-4078.

Woman allegedly raped after meeting someone on Tagged.com

Woman raped, drugged by man she met on Web:

A 51-year-old Western Pennsylvania woman is claiming that she was drugged raped after meeting a man on the social website Tagged.com. She claims that she was raped by the man and his friend in her house after inviting them over.

Police have not released any names yet nor arrested the two men because the investigation is on going.

Of course if the woman was in fact raped then responsibility for the crime lies with the rapists. However, I don’t know how many times I have to keep saying this, if you want to protect yourself do not invite strangers from the internet over to your house. It’s just common sense.

Thanks to Renee for the tip.

Joseph Brooks indicted for craigslist rapes

Oscar Winner Joseph Brooks Indicted For Rape:

I originally posted about Joe, now Joseph, Brooks here. He’s the guy who won an Oscar for writing the Debby Boone hit “You Light Up My Life”. If that wasn’t crime against humanity enough he was also arrested back in January for allegedly drugging and raping aspiring actresses that responded to his ad on craigslist.

Now Brooks has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury for allegedly raping or sexual assaulting 11 women.

Also indicted was Brooks’ personal assistant Shawni Lucier for criminal facilitation for allegedly assisting Brooks in set up the assaults. Give that guy an A in lackeyness but an F for all around humanity.

Bartender accused of being MySpace rapist

Lacey-area man accused of rapes after meeting women on MySpace:

28-year-old Marcos Roberto Lozano of Olympia, Wash. is accused of drugging and raping women that he’s met over MySpace. Lozano worked as a bartender at a casino and would have his victims meet him at his job.

He’s been accused of raping two different women and police believe he may have more victims.

Stop using MySpace for hook ups people. This could be the result.
