36-year-old Chad Robison was an employee of a church in Lecanto, Florida. He was arrested back in July after coworkers allegedly found child porn on his work computer. After police were called, investigators were said to have found 3000 videos and 350,000 explicit pictures of minors including several chats Robison reportedly had with a 14-year-old girl on the anonymous chat website Omegle. Robison was said to have used screen recording software to record the video chats he had with the girl. He is said to have wanted to meet the girl as well.
Again to parents, Omegle is a website and not an app and can be accessed by any device with a web browser and camera. This means it could be used on a laptop, a tablet or phone. This also may be a good opportunity to show your kids that if they chat with strangers online, whatever they do can be recorded by the person on the other side of the conversation. It should also be reiterated to them that once an image or video of them is out on the internet it’s out there forever.
19-year-old Ethan Gorden of Clay County, Florida, went missing from his home on August 27th. Before his disappearance, he had received around 30 threatening messages over Snapchat.
Gorden’s mother, Maddie Gorden, said the messages said things like, “I’m going to kill you,” “you are a piece of crap,” and “I’m going to get you.”
Ethan is 6’3′, 160 lbs., has brown hair, blue eyes and a tattoo. He drives a 2003 Saturn Ion with a Florida plate with the Miami Dolphins on it.
If you see Ethan or have any information about his disappearance, you are urged to call 911. Further information can be found at the FINDING ETHAN – BRING ETHAN HOME Facebook page.
26-year-old Robert Lufriu, of Hillsborough County, Florida, was arrested for allegedly soliciting nude photos from a 17-year-old female Facebook friend. Lufriu reportedly asked the girl for a picture after she confided a secret to him. He is said to have threatened to tell her parents if she didn’t send him a nude photo. He then is said to have offered the girl $50, alcohol and to take her shopping if she would provide him with more photos.
What a creep and a scumbag. This guy allegedly blackmailed his victim and basically treated her like a prostitute in order to get her to produce what is basically child porn for him. Not only that, but he seems to be at least a friend of the victim’s family. So he possibly betrayed the trust of a family just so he could treat the victim like his own personal porn factory. He even allegedly admitted to the girl’s parents that he asked her for photos.
Not only do you have to worry about strangers approaching your kids online, but in some cases, trusted friends as well. As they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer because you never know when your friend is actually your child’s enemy.
30-year-old Colleen Nichols was allegedly found behind the wheel of her vehicle after overdosing on prescription pills in Boca Raton, Florida. In the back of the vehicle was her 4-year-old daughter who just wanted to go her preschool. It doesn’t sound like the car was involved in any kind of collision, thankfully. However, the vehicle was unlocked with Nichols slumped over the wheel. A witness called 911 and EMT’s had to use Narcan to revive her. Reports say Nichols took an almost 30 day supply of Klonipin in a little over a day. After Nichols returned to consciousness, first responders asked her where she thought her daughter was and Nichols was said to have responded by saying: “I don’t know, I must have blacked out, I’m under a lot of stress.”
How much ‘stress’ do you have to be under to take a month’s worth of Klonipin in less than a two-day period? Unless you’re a four-fingered member of a bomb squad in Afghanistan, you’re not under that much stress. Then again, it’s a common characteristic of drug addicts to blame everyone but themselves for their behavior. They tell the most outlandish lies in order to try to get their fix and expect you to believe them. In too many cases, addicts don’t care who the repercussions of their actions affect, even if it’s their own children.
Prescription drug abuse is now the worst drug abuse problem in the U.S. today. Unfortunately, most addicts don’t think they have a problem, and can’t start recovering until they do. The Mayo Clinic website has a detailed guide on how to stage an intervention in case a loved one has a substance abuse problem.

19-year-old Destiny Santilli of Brandon, Florida, was arrested for allegedly prostituting a 16-year-old girl on Backpage. The 16-year-old girl was a runaway at the time. Santilli reportedly took explicit pictures of the girl and posted them to Backpage while keeping most of the money the girl made.
Thanks to Backpage, just about anybody could become a pimp if they want. All you need is a willingness to bend people to your will with force and violence.
And again, this shows one more underage girl who escaped Backpage’s supposed ‘stringent precautions’ that are supposed to keep children from being trafficked on their site. More than likely Backpage probably edited the ad to let it through.
32-year-old Rade Malkovich, of Brandon, Florida, was arrested in Tampa for allegedly running a fake modeling scam. Malkovich allegedly posted ads on craigslist looking for models. He is said to have represented himself by claiming he worked for a legitimate talent agency. When one woman contacted the actual agency, they had never heard of Malkovich. He was then arrested for allegedly running a phony modeling agency, however, his endgame could have been much worse.
I’ve been posting about the modeling scam for over a decade now. (And here too.) The purpose of the modeling scam is usuall one of three reasons. The first is to lure victims into human trafficking, the second is luring victims into an opportunity for rape or sexual assault, and lastly to try to convince the models to get into porn.
Police aren’t saying if any of these were what Malkovich was planning, but I would lay odds on it being at least one of the three. I was able to stumble across Malkovich’s Periscope account. While it doesn’t have anything illicit on it, it does have a number of videos of shirtless Malkovich. To add to the need of mind bleach moment, some of the videos are entitled ‘Ladies Only’, ‘Bad Bitches Only’ and the ever so classy ‘I Need Head’. Take that as you may.
As the article points out, photographers don’t usually work directly for legitimate modeling agencies and don’t pay $300 to $800 per hour for inexperienced prospects. As with any craigslist ad, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
25-year-old Ryan Soto of Wesley Chapel, Florida, was arrested for allegedly soliciting for child porn over social media. Soto was said to have asked users of the social network and dating app MeetMe for child porn and tried enticing people by saying “the more illegal the more $$$”. Thankfully, at least one MeetMe user reported him to police.
When police caught up with Soto, he reportedly admitted to sending explicit pictures of himself to minors on Facebook Messenger and, of course, Kik. (The messaging app full of sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors) Police say that Soto had a number of child porn images on his phone as well.
If the material he was asking for wasn’t so abhorrent, his desperation for it would almost be comical.
Whenever I post a story about MeetMe, it saddens me that it used to be MyYearbook, which was originally designed to be a safer alternative to MySpace for teens. Not that it ever was.
If it wasn’t for Kik, I could rename this site ‘Teachers and Snapchat’, but I digress.
30-year-old Brock Smith, of Naples, Florida is accused of allegedly using photo sharing apps Snapchat and Instagram in an attempt to lure teenage girls for sex. Smith is a teacher at a local high school. Before you ask, no, it was not with one of his students. In a 2016 incident, Smith allegedly messaged a 17-year-old girl over Snapchat saying he would visit her where she worked. If that wasn’t creepy enough, Smith ‘had sex’ with the girl in the workplace’s bathroom. He then stopped communicating with the girl.
In a more recent event, Smith is accused of messaging a 16-year-old on Instagram and asking her to add him on Snapchat. The conversation soon turned sexual and Smith allegedly sent the girl explicit pictures of himself. He is also said to have messaged the girl saying he was “free in the mornings to meet for sex” and mentioned the girl could come over when his wife was away. What a class act.
For those of you wondering, and I know some of you are out there, the age of consent in Florida is 18 and the poorly named Romeo and Juliet clause doesn’t apply to a 13 year difference in age.
Again I have to ask, what is it with teachers and Snapchat? As I’ve said before, I’m not cherry picking Snapchat stories that have teachers in them. It seems like I see more Snapchat stories with teachers in them than other types of predators.

Brandon Royce Phillips
(Story broke 6/9/2017)
33-year-old Brandon Royce Phillips of Panama City Beach, Florida, was arrested for allegedly using mobile messaging app Kik to solicit explicit videos from underage boys. Phillips was said to have posed as a young girl named Katie Davis and solicited a 14-year-old boy to perform sex acts over the controversial app. Phillips was said to have had the Kik username of Katie.davis840. Posing as an underage girl is just one of the many tricks online predators use in order to gain the confidence of both male and female victims.
This is a good opportunity to talk to your kids about how people can present themselves online and how the cute girl they’re chatting with may be a creepy middle-aged man. And again, I still prescribe to the ideas of knowing who is on your kids’ friends list and not allowing them to have any internet connected devices after bedtime. Also, if your kids can’t identify someone on their friends list as someone they know locally and can identify by first and last name, then they probably don’t need to be on your kids’ friends list.
Considering Kik has a deluge of sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors, you may even want to consider not letting them use the app at all.

43-year-old Patrick Trottie was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, for allegedly forcing drug-addicted women into prostitution on Backpage. Trottie would reportedly look for women who were going through heroin withdrawal, give them heroin, then tell them they had to prostitute themselves in order to pay back their ‘debt’ to Trottie. The women were forced to give all their money to Trottie and if they tried to leave, he would beat them. One victim who escaped was found hiding behind a dumpster with a swollen face and split lip. Another victim claims Trottie threatened to shoot her if she tried to escape and would hold a gun to her head. So tell me again how this is a victimless crime.
Now, Backpage claims they have several safeguards in place to prevent underage girls from being peddled on their site. A claim which is dubious at best. However, my question is: What is Backpage supposedly doing to prevent women from being forcefully trafficked on their site? I’ll tell you. They’re cashing the checks from these violent pimps while laughing all the way to the bank.
