Houston man found dead after leaving to sell car on craigslist

The body of 43-year-old Altaf Malik, of Richmond, Texas, was found in a dumpster in Houston. Mr. Malik had been missing for days after leaving to sell his car on craigslist. Authorities say that he had sustained repeated stab wounds. A GoFundMe has been set up to help assist with his family. Mr. Malik left behind four children. So far, no suspect has been apprehended.

Anyone with information should call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, HPD homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Fort Bend County at 281-342-TIPS.

According to the Craigslist Killings – Craigslist Safety Blog, this would be the 122nd murder contributed to craigslist.

Craigslist is no longer the friendly neighborhood classifieds is was back in the late 90s. Now that it’s a website with a global reach, it’s been a haven for killers and other violent criminals.

Houston Backpage pimp assaulted woman for trying to leave

Clifton Campbell

And we go back to Houston, Texas, where 30-year-old Clifton Campbell has been arrested for allegedly forcibly prostituting a woman on Backpage. Police say when the woman tried to leave Campbell, he punched her in the throat and in the eye. Please tell me about consenting adults again.

And Backpage still continues to collect that ad revenue from scum like this. More people should be outraged about this rather than whatever the reposted Facebook outrage story of the day is, you know, like football players kneeling, or how dogs would wear pants.

Two Houston women accused of turning out 14-year-old on Backpage

Henry and Garrett

24-year-old Centurrie Deshunn Garrett and 20-year-old Teresa Henry have been charged with various human trafficking charges for allegedly prostituting a 14-year-old girl on Backpage. Reports say the victim was allegedly lured away from Chicago by Henry with the promise of a romantic relationship.

It doesn’t matter if the pimps are men or women, the promise of a romantic relationship is one of the most commonly used tricks by pimps in order to recruit younger girls. There have been too many stories I’ve posted where the girl being trafficked claimed to be her pimp’s girlfriend.

Let’s also not forget these two somehow negotiated their way through Backpage’s stringent safeguards to prevent minors from being turned out on their site. And I by stringent I really mean porous.

Hopefully, these two will be sentenced to a Centurrie.

Reverse craigslist killing in Houston leaves robbery suspect dead

Reverse craigslist killing in Houston leaves robbery suspect dead

(Story broke on 5/25/2017)

Two men allegedly tried to rob two other men during a craigslist deal in Houston, Texas. The suspects posed as buyers and when they tried to rob the sellers, this being Texas and all, one of the sellers opened fire in what they claim was self-defense. One of the robbery suspects was killed while the other was taken to the hospital. So far no charges have been filed against the man with the gun.

While I wouldn’t count a criminal on my list of craigslist killing victims, it does go to show that even criminals aren’t safe when it comes to using craigslist.

Houston suspect drugs and turns out 4-year-old on craigslist. This is nothing new.

Andrew Turley

Andrew Turley

This is a story that seems to be making the outrage rounds as it should. 28-year-old Andrew Turley was arrested by Houston police for allegedly drugging a 4-year-old girl and prostituting her on craigslist. Turley is nothing short of a monster according to reports.

From Click2Houston

Undercover officers with the Houston Police Department noticed an ad on Craigslist offering “daddy’s little girl” in exchange for money.

They made contact with the person promoting the ad and exchanged more than 60 emails up until Nov. 12.

Prosecutors say Turley allegedly offered two hours with the girl in exchange for $1,000, and a meeting was arranged.

When undercover officers arrived to the meeting location, they found the girl naked underneath a blanket. She was in a groggy state and appeared to be under the influence, according to police.

The ever tactful NY Daily News had this to add

Turley had told the undercover cop “it may not fit in” but said the officer could “do whatever he wanted” to her, McShan said.

So by every right any person who reads this story should be outraged over what this thing was allegedly doing with a 4-year-old girl.

The thing is don’t act like this is something new. This has been going on through craigslist since as long as I’ve been keeping track. All you need to do is scroll through the craigslist archives of this site to see just a sampling of all the child predators who have been caught using craigslist. Hell, this victim isn’t even the youngest girl to be turned out on craigslist.

Pedophiles, pornographers and predators are abundant on craigslist. They have been for quite some time now. If you’re going to be outraged about what this scumbag did to a little girl you should also be outraged that craigslist does nothing to block these ads.

And to all the media types who are just finding this out for the first time where the hell have you been?

Craigslist safe havens at police departments show the inherent problem with craigslist

Ever since the craigslist murders of Bud and June Runion in Georgia police departments around the country, much like the one in Houston, Texas, featured here, have been offering their properties as safe havens to complete craigslist transactions. While I think it is an enormous gesture of good will on the part of law enforcement it’s a huge indicator of just how much of a problem craigslist has become.

Think about it for a second. Hundreds of police departments around the country think that it is safer for you to sell or buy something off of craigslist on their properties than anywhere else in public view. That is how dangerous craigslist has become over the years and it might even be safe to assume that even that might not stop a criminal from committing a crime against a potential craigslist victim.

It’s been many years since craigslist was the friendly San Francisco Bay area classifieds. Due to their global reach and low point of entry it has degenerated into a wasteland of scams and violent crime.

Craigslist killing in Houston

This past Thursday night 28-year-old Saul Cifuentes was shot and killed by someone posing as a craigslist seller in Houston, Texas. The victim thought he was meeting someone in order to buy a video game console, instead it turned into a robbery gone wrong. As of yet no suspect has been arrested.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

As I’ve said before since craigslist has such a low-level of entry (free) anyone can place an ad. Not to mention that craigslist users have this notion of anonymity it makes it a haven for all sorts of criminal activity. It’s not worth whatever great deal you think you’re getting.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victim.

Craigslist ad said “Incest is a plus”

Harris County man charged with online solicitation of a minor:

‘Incest is a plus’: Man tries to solicit sex from mother and underage daughter in creepy online ad:

Kingwood man arrested over online ad looking for sex with moms and daughters:

Jesse Michael Kibert

Police in Houston, Texas recently arrested 33-year-old Jesse Michael Kibert on charges of online child solicitation. It seems that Kilbert posted an ad on craigslist allegedly looking to have sex with young girls and their mothers. The ads were also said to indicate that incest between the mother and daughter would be a plus. I really need to get that chemical shower installed.

To make matters worse Kilbert allegedly told police that he’s been placing ads like that for a while now. That always makes me wonder how many times he may have been actually successful in fulfilling his twisted plans.

Sadly ads like this are not an uncommon occurrence on craigslist yet still nothing is ever done about it except by the police and by then it could be too late for the victims.

Houston craigslist creeper didn’t care what grade she was in

Raul Garcia

Man accused of using Craigslist to find HS girls:

Houston man allegedly took out ad seeking ‘sexy high school girl’:

25-year-old Raul Garcia of Houston, Texas allegedly posted an ad on craigslist looking for high school girls and not to tutor them. Police say he posted the ad from his work computer which basically said ‘Looking for any hot high school chicks.’ A Harris County Precinct 4 Constable responded to the ad posing as a 14-year-old girl. They traded messages back and forth. Some of Garcia’s are said to have contained the following…

But the 25-year-old allegedly asked the supposed 14-year-old if she wanted “sex on the down low” and if she would send him a “naughty pic.”

‘We really don’t care what grade you’re in.’

“I am looking for a sexy high school girl who wants to experience an older guy…,”

In case there was any doubt what he was talking about investigators say that Garcia also sent an explicit photo of himself.

I know I sound like a broken record (kids, ask your grandparents what a record was) but it needs to be said. This is the user base of craigslist, pedophiles and predators who use it as a kind of catalog to select their next victims. Still no one is calling on craigslist to monitor their site. No one in the media and no one who holds an office. What kind of hideous atrocity do the craigslist creepers have to commit before craigslist is on the hot seat again?

Shop for car parts on craigslist, have your child propositioned

Christopher Howard Beachum

Father turns in suspected child predator found on Craigslist:

So this guy in the Houston, Texas area was shopping for a tire cover for his Jeep online. He found exactly what he was looking for on craigslist. He contacted the seller and then after the arrangements for the tire cover were made the seller allegedly started asking some typical questions. And by typical I mean typical for craigslist.

The seller started asking the man if he had kids and would they be interested in ‘modeling’ for him. The man says that the seller offered him $5 for clothed photos of his kids and $10 for nudes. After their conversation the man called the local police and the FBI.

This led authorities to one 22-year-old Spencer House. When police searched his home they found child porn on his computer and children’s’ underwear in his closet. Police say that House may have also solicited other parents since he was advertising on craigslist as a child modeling studio.

This is why you shouldn’t do any sort of business on craigslist at least until they promise to clean up their site. No matter how legitimate the item may be that you’re searching for you have a pretty good chance of running into one of these creepers.
