I’m proud of my country. I’m proud of all the good that the United States has done around the world. I’m a patriotic American no matter who is in the Oval Office. Having said that I always feel a little extra saddened and disappointed when a member of this country’s armed forces commit heinous crimes whether it be here or abroad. Here is a story about one of those crimes.
30-year-old Marine James Lewis Charles is accused of dropping his 3-moth-old son Owen against a hard surface more than 30 times. To me that sounds a lot like throwing and not dropping. The baby has brain injuries and has lost sight in one eye but has survived.
Asked why he dropped the child, Charles said it was because the baby was fussy and he (Charles) was clumsy, the detective said.
You have got to be kidding me. Clumsy 30 times over?
This is exactly the type of life that Marines are supposed to be defending, that of a small child.
If the charges are true not only have you committed an incredibly violent crime against your own son but you’ve also committed one aginst the entire country.
Thanks to Bridget for the tip.
