MISSING: Jayme Closs

MISSING: Jayme Closs

I normally don’t do missing person stories. I usually leave them for the armchair sleuths of the internet. I am no sleuth, but if I can help get the word out even a little bit, then I do what I can.

Back in October, someone entered the home of 13-year-old Jayme Closs in Barron, Wisconsin. In just four minutes Jayme’s parents, James, and Denise Closs, were shot to death and Jayme had been kidnapped. She has been missing ever since.

The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Jayme Closs.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Jayme Closs, or if you have had contact with Closs, please contact the Barron County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 1-855-744-3879. You may also contact your local FBI office, or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. Submit an anonymous Tip online

I have no great insight to give on this case. By most reports, all leads have been pursued and have come up empty. The only thing I can offer is that if the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime have left the state of Wisconsin, they will more than likely be eligible for the federal death penalty since murder committed during a kidnapping is a capital crime. However, Wisconsin itself does not have the death penalty.

Like everyone else, I hope and pray that Jayme is still alive and will be found safely.

Thanks to Debi for the tip.

Two Okla. men killed during craigslist sale

Two Okla. men killed during craigslist sale

Baker and Garcia-Boettler

Just because craigslist removed its personals section doesn’t mean it’s any safer. Last weekend, two men, 21-year-olds Alize Smith and Jarron Moreland, went missing in Moore, Oklahoma, after witnesses saw them being taken into a van. Moreland’s family claimed that he was meeting someone to sell something through craigslist. Sadly, the bodies of Moreland and Smith were found weighted in a pond earlier this week. Three suspects have been arrested and charged in their murders, and they are 22-year-old Kevin Garcia-Boettler, 43-year-old Johnny Barker, and the 16-year-old brother of Garcia-Boettler.

According to police, Moreland and Smith were said to be selling a gun on craigslist and the trio of suspects were meeting with the two men to purchase the gun. Once Moreland and Smith approached the suspects’ van, one of the suspects claims they heard a gun being cocked by one of the victims. This resulted in one of the suspects firing on the two men, killing them both. Tragically, this could have all been prevented.

Craigslist’s terms of service forbids firearms from being sold or traded on their site, yet it happens all the time. The problem with craigslist is the usual one as they hardly ever do any kind of moderation on their site for any kind of illegal items or sales. Instead, they rely on their users to flag any kind of inappropriate ad, the same users who are posting the illegal ads to begin with. This is akin to the inmates running the asylum. Craigslist has the ability to screen for ads like this as they have done so in the past with unlocked iPhones when that was still illegal. Yet they allow guns to change hands without even batting an eye.

Mo. MeetMe molester charged with rape of 11-y.o. girl

Mo. MeetMe molester charged with rape of 11-y.o. girl

Joseph Meili

21-year-old Joseph Meili, of Russellville, Missouri, has been charged in the alleged rape and kidnapping of an 11-year-old Republic girl he met through MeetMe. This is said to have taken place in July of this year after Meili picked the girl up from her home and took her back to an apartment in Springfield. The victim was reportedly being raped while police were searching for her. She was found at home after Meili dropped her off. While investigating, police are said to have found evidence that a rape did take place. To make matters worse, authorities say Meili gave the victim an STI.

Click here for more stories about MeetMe

When police contacted Meili reports say he tried using the ‘she said she was 18’ defense by saying the victim’s MeetMe profile said she was 18. Many people would say that should be defense enough against the charges. I’ve heard it so many times before, “Do you know how many girls look like they’re 18?” Really? Even when they’re eleven? Either way, it’s immaterial because if the charges are correct he forcibly had sex with the girl, you know, rape.

Again, MeetMe is no place for children. It’s a social app mostly used by people who are looking for a hook up. While its terms of service say users have to be at least 13, app stores rate the app as M for Mature, meaning no one under 17 should use it. The victim was able to create an account using her mother’s phone. As far as I’m concerned, that’s inexcusable. Not only should you know what your kids are doing on their devices, but you damn well better know what they’re doing on yours.

“Explain to him in the next lifetime why he dead”

"Explain to him in the next lifetime why he dead"

Mekielle Pullins

In case you ever wondered if monsters exist in our world, read the story about 22-year-old Mekielle Pullins of Indiana.

Back in July, she triggered an Amber Alert when she allegedly abducted her own kids, ages 2, 3, and 7. Luckily, they were found to be unharmed and have been placed with the Indiana Department of Child Services. It’s what she did while she was on the run that’s been grabbing headlines.

Pullins is accused of allegedly abusing one of her kids while recording it and sending the videos to the kid’s father. Investigators say Pullins covered her son’s mouth and nose and recorded the child struggling to breathe. That’s not even mentioning the messages she sent to the boy’s father…

“Bout to call police so they can come get his body.”

“Explain to him in the next lifetime why he dead.”

“I’m stabbing (the child) 2 night I hate him.”

“I wish u never gave me him. I don’t love him or you. U used me for a baby and money then left me on the side of the road and left kids n shelter with not one call in weeks.”

She even allegedly threatened to molest the boy and sell him.

It’s one thing to be mad at your child’s father for being a deadbeat dad, it’s another to choke your own child to get back at the father. We all know how hard it can be to try to get child support out of someone who refuses to pay it, but if a dad won’t pay, an innocent child shouldn’t have to pay in his blood.

However, she just wasn’t mad, she was violently insane. Hopefully, the kids can find a better life either with their father(s), other relatives, or through the foster care system. She should never be allowed near a child or see the light of day ever again.

Kik kreeper caught with missing Missouri girl

Kik kreeper caught with missing Missouri girl

25-year-old Dominic Pearson was charged in federal court with attempting to entice a minor for sex, but the charges hardly explain what it is alleged to have happened. Pearson is accused of allegedly grooming a 13-year-old girl over mobile messaging app Kik before arranging to have the Missouri girl run away.

After picking up the girl with another man named ‘John’, the victim claims that Pearson allegedly raped her after they left the Springfield area. The victim also claims that Pearson was well aware of her age.

What makes matters worse is that the girl was using her father’s cell phone to use Kik. At any time this man could have checked the app to see that this was going on…

“I am on the way to you, we are going to meet up with our ride,” said one message from “black heart.”

Other messages were more graphic. One said “I can’t wait to be with u and marry u.” Another indicated “black heart” might be coming to get the girl from the “east side of Nebraska, I am working my way there.”

Again, you may trust your kids completely, but do you trust everyone that they’re talking to online? You shouldn’t, especially on Kik considering it is rife with sex offenders and pedophiles.

Facebook fiend charged with kidnapping girl from Missouri school

Facebook fiend charged with kidnapping girl from Missouri school

Shaquan E. Smith

21-year-old Shaquan E. Smith is accused of allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old girl who he met from Facebook. Smith is said to have tried signing the girl out of the Black Jack, Missouri, school by posing as her uncle before just running away from the school with the girl. The girl was gone for three days before authorities were able to catch up with Smith and the victim. No word on if any other crimes took place during those three days but it would be difficult to imagine that they didn’t.

I can’t even imagine how the girl’s family must have felt during the three days that she was gone. It must have been terrifying for them. Then to find out that she had spent them with a 21-year-old male.

Again, this is why you should always keep tabs on your child’s social networking activity no matter what platform they may be using. Also, parents should consider keeping their children’s devices, tablets, phones, etc., so predators like this can’t be in contact with your kids in your home. These devices could be an unguarded gateway giving direct access to your children.

Skout skoundrel indicted in kidnap and rapes of girls

Robert Blaine Harris

Robert Blaine Harris

50-year-old Robert Blaine Harris was recently indicted for allegedly kidnapping and raping two teen girls that he met on dating and social app Skout. Harris is accused of luring two 13-year-old girls from Abilene, Texas, to his home in Fort Worth where he allegedly repeatedly raped them. Here is what one of the victims actually thought…

“I thought we were just going to stay with him a day or two,” the teen said in January. “He had other plans.”

I can’t stress this enough to teens on social media. If an adult who you don’t know is befriending you on social media and is acting like they want to help you they only really want to help themselves to one thing. Harris is also a registered sex offender who was convicted of assaulting two women.

skout1

Skout is best described as a dating app and 13-year-olds have no business being on it. In the Android Play Store Skout is listed as an app for people 17 and over. That is just a general rating like the movie or video game ratings. I would personally say that it’s not for anyone under 18. Know what apps are on your kids’ devices.

UPDATE 10/27/2016: Harris was sentenced to 14 years behind bars.

Kik kreeper took girl from Missouri home to New Mexico

Raymond C. Vallia

Raymond C. Vallia

56-year-old Raymond C. Vallia of Albuquerque, New Mexico was recently sentenced to 20 years behind bars for kidnapping a 13-year-old Missouri girl that he met online. The pair used mobile messaging Kik in order to communicate and orchestrate her kidnapping. Vallia drove from Amaraillo, Texas, for some reason, to Montrose, Missouri and had planned on taking her back to his home in New Mexico. He was found with the girl by a New Mexico State Trooper after an Amber Alert was issued. According to Google Maps if he had made it all the way to Albuquerque round trip from Amarillo would have been a roughly 1500 mile trip. This is how persistent child predators are when it comes to claiming a victim. More reason why they should be kept behind bars for longer than they’ve been getting. Apparently Vallia couldn’t wait to get his child prize home as they ‘had sex’ (child rape) in Texas.

Never forget that Kik is awash in sex offenders and pedophiles. Treat it as such when it comes to your own kids.

Kik kreeper held 15-year-old girl captive for weeks

Christopher David Schroeder

Christopher David Schroeder

If you want the nightmare story to show your kids so they’ll act safer online then this is it.

41-year-old Christopher David Schroeder, of Marthasville, Missouri, is accused of allegedly meeting a 15-year-old Ohio girl on Kik and keeping her captive for weeks on end in his home.

Schroeder is said to have used an old predator trick to gain his victim’s confidence…

She told Schroeder that she was unhappy at home, and he told her he would pick her up and help her. She had told him she was only 15 in one of their Kik chats.

Of course what 41-year-old man would offer help like this to an underage girl if there wasn’t some kind of ulterior motive involved. Things were not as rosy as I’m sure the victim imagined…

On Nov. 8, Schroeder drove to Ohio and picked her up near her home. Once she was in his vehicle, he made her remove the SIM card from her cellular telephone and broke the SIM card into pieces.

He told her not to reveal her real name to anyone and that she needed to change her appearance by cutting and/or coloring her hair.

He also told her she needed to lose weight. Schroeder then smashed her cell phone and tossed it into the river

Investigators say that Schroeder raped the girl multiple times and had quite the set up in his bedroom…

Authorities also obtained search warrants for the home and, during the search, video cameras, a DVR and other items were recovered. Two cameras were located in Schroeder’s bedroom with the focus point being the bed.

He even tried claiming that he thought the girl was 18 like that would magically make everything better.

So when your kids get mad at you for checking out their Kik account you can show them this story. Tell them that it’s not that you don’t trust them but you don’t trust the monsters that are lurking on Kik. In case I may have forgotten to mention it lately Kik is rife with pedophiles and sex offenders.

UPDATE 1/6/2016: Schroeder’s victim and her family are set to appear on the Dr. Phil Show tomorrow to tell her ordeal. From the video I’ve seen she’ll be keeping her identity hidden.

Normally I don’t care for Dr. Phil since I consider him to be just another TV charlatan however he is watched by a very large amount of people and at least this will help get the word out about how dangerous Kik can be.

Facebook fiend raped 14-year-old for months

The many mugshots and hairstyles of Cody Lee Jackson

The many mugshots and hairstyles of Cody Lee Jackson

While already under electronic monitoring for a previous abduction case, 20-year-old Cody Lee Jackson, of Norwood, Ohio, was recently arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl over four months while keeping her against her will. While under house arrest during the initial abduction investigation Jackson allegedly took it upon himself to have a 14-year-old girl he met on Facebook to come to his house.

From WTSP

Authorities gave this account of what happened next:

He asked to meet her and arranged to have a taxi pick her up.

He arranged for taxi trips almost every other day for three weeks because the monitoring didn’t allow him to leave his home. He had sex with the teen during each visit.

He took control of the girl’s social media and email and bought her a phone to use. He also created rules for her to follow.

In March, the teen visited and wasn’t allowed to leave.

That’s not all. From Deseret News

He reportedly disallowed the girl from leaving the apartment unless she was with him or had his permission. Jackson also forbade the girl from using the restroom, showering, eating or contacting her family without his permission, according to his charges.

The girl was also reportedly told not to refuse sex with Jackson, make eye contact with or talk to other men, sing or hum songs sung by men, sleep while Jackson was awake or look outside any windows or doors. Jackson allegedly required the girl to bathe him as well.

Jackson abused the victim verbally and physically when she didn’t follow those rules and had sex with her almost every day despite her many objections, court records say. The abuse reportedly lessened but didn’t stop after he found out she was pregnant with his child.

Investigators say that Jackson brought in a 20-year-old woman to keep an eye on the girl for him when he was outside of the home. When is electric monitoring was removed Jackson fled the state before being arrested in Utah. The woman and the girl escaped a day after he left to make sure he wasn’t returning.

I know you’re asking, as am I, why was the girl allowed to be gone from the home for so long without being reported missing. As of right now that information has not been reported so please hold off on commenting about that for now. However I do have to ask why this was allowed to happen while he was under house arrest? Was the home not being routinely visited to make sure he was abiding my the terms of his monitoring? I’m sure at least one of those terms was to not keep 14-year-old girls hostage while raping them. Between this assclown and the serial Facebook stalker it appears that Ohio is turning into what Connecticut used to be for MySpace.

Parents, talk to your kids about predators like this. Tell them that if any ‘man’ wants them to come over it’s never for anything good.
