25-year-old Leo James Zabala Jr. of Whittier, California was busted by Homeland Security for allegedly trying to solicit high school girls for sex on craigslist. Investigators say that Zabala posted ads in the casual encounters section of craigslist offering a mere $60 for the full experience, if you know what I mean. He was also allegedly generous enough to offer $40 for ‘another act’. And by ads they say he posted 380 of them.
Homeland Security agents posed as a 14-year-old girl from Huntington Beach and when Zabala arrived to the meeting he was arrested.
And get this, he’s out on $50K bond. He claims that he’s never had sex with any underage victims. I’m sorry but you don’t post 380 ads without getting at least one response. That’s a pretty wide net.
Is there any question that craigslist still has a long way to go before cleaning up its act? Especially considering it seems to be the go to place for child predators. Moderation? Anyone? Bueller?
UPDATE: He allegedly had sex toys and lube with him at the time of his arrest. Ick.
