Potential MeetMe molester caught sneaking out of girl’s window

Potential MeetMe molester caught sneaking out of girl's window

Vladyslav Sergeevich Prykhodko

20-year-old Vladyslav Sergeevich Prykhodko, of Sapphire, North Carolina, is accused of allegedly posing as a 17-year-old boy on social and dating app MeetMe. Prykhodko is said to have lied about his age in order to meet a 14-year-old girl from Chatsworth, Georgia. He is then said to have made the three-hour, 150 mile drive, before climbing in the girl’s bedroom window unbeknownst to her parents. According to the articles I’ve read there may not have been any sexual contact between Prykhodko and the girl, but that didn’t stop him from being super creepy.

According to the report, he told deputies, “I wanted to lose control and was afraid of doing something inappropriate.” He said he and the girl were staring “intently and deeply into each other’s eyes” and said “in a moment of passion” he reached out to touch her, but said he stopped himself, “stating it was as if he hit a wall and could (not) go forward with any physical action.”

A neighbor was said to have spotted Prykhodko leaving through the same window and alerted the girl’s mother to that. The mother, the neighbor and a friend of the mother chased Prykhodko down and brought him back to the house where the mother claims to have slapped Prykhodko in the face when she found out he was 20. Considering where this took place, he’s lucky there were no banjos playing if you know what I mean.

However, as far as no sexual contact taking place and Prykhodko ‘hitting a wall’ before doing anything inappropriate, that probably wasn’t his original intention as he was found to be in possession of weed and condoms.

The other problem with this story is the girl was using her friend’s phone at school to communicate with Prykhodko. In this case the onus would be on the friend’s parent because MeetMe is not an app that young kids should be using. While MeetMe’s terms of service may allow users to be ages 13 and up, in reality it’s a very adult app that is widely used for hook ups.

Joseph Meili

21-year-old Joseph Meili, of Russellville, Missouri, has been charged in the alleged rape and kidnapping of an 11-year-old Republic girl he met through MeetMe. This is said to have taken place in July of this year after Meili picked the girl up from her home and took her back to an apartment in Springfield. The victim was reportedly being raped while police were searching for her. She was found at home after Meili dropped her off. While investigating, police are said to have found evidence that a rape did take place. To make matters worse, authorities say Meili gave the victim an STI.

When police contacted Meili reports say he tried using the ‘she said she was 18’ defense by saying the victim’s MeetMe profile said she was 18. Many people would say that should be defense enough against the charges. I’ve heard it so many times before, “Do you know how many girls look like they’re 18?” Really? Even when they’re eleven? Either way, it’s immaterial because if the charges are correct he forcibly had sex with the girl, you know, rape.

Again, MeetMe is no place for children. It’s a social app mostly used by people who are looking for a hook up. While its terms of service say users have to be at least 13, app stores rate the app as M for Mature, meaning no one under 17 should use it. The victim was able to create an account using her mother’s phone. As far as I’m concerned, that’s inexcusable. Not only should you know what your kids are doing on their devices, but you damn well better know what they’re doing on yours.

Makayla Massey’s missing poster

16-year-old Makayla Massey was last seen in her Victorville, California, home on August 25, 2017. Police say Makayla was using the social network/app MeetMe to possibly sell herself for sex. She reportedly posed as a 19-year-old with the names of Anita Green, Anitta Argintino, Anita Franchise, and Anita Massey. She is said to not have had her own cell phone, but instead used an iPod that has wifi capabilities.

Makayla Massey is described as a white female, five feet 4 inches tall and weighing 146 pounds. She has brown hair with lighter-colored hair at the ends, according to her mother, and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing gray sweat pants, a white shirt and carrying a black Adidas backpack.

Anyone with information regarding Makayla Massey’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Dana Weinberg at 760-243-1989, 760-559-5362, or the Victorville Sheriff’s Station at 760-241-2911. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-782-7463 or visit www.wetip.com.

MeetMe has been around since the MySpace days of social media and has devolved into nothing more than a hook-up site. Like most social apps, you don’t necessarily need a phone to access it. You can use just about any device that has wifi capability, like in this case, an iPod. Please, regularly check your kids’ devices for any activity that could put them in harm’s way.

Sadly, child sex trafficking is nothing new to social media. Pimps and traffickers have been using social media since the days of MySpace, luring impressionable kids with tales of money and fame only to turn them out on the street or online.

Florida man wanted child porn “the more illegal the more $$$”

Florida man wanted child porn "the more illegal the more $$$"

Ryan Soto

25-year-old Ryan Soto of Wesley Chapel, Florida, was arrested for allegedly soliciting for child porn over social media. Soto was said to have asked users of the social network and dating app MeetMe for child porn and tried enticing people by saying “the more illegal the more $$$”. Thankfully, at least one MeetMe user reported him to police.

When police caught up with Soto, he reportedly admitted to sending explicit pictures of himself to minors on Facebook Messenger and, of course, Kik. (The messaging app full of sex offenders, pedophiles, and child porn collectors) Police say that Soto had a number of child porn images on his phone as well.

If the material he was asking for wasn’t so abhorrent, his desperation for it would almost be comical.

Whenever I post a story about MeetMe, it saddens me that it used to be MyYearbook, which was originally designed to be a safer alternative to MySpace for teens. Not that it ever was.

MeetMe serial rapist started when he was 16

MeetMe serial rapist started when he was 16

Jim Persey

(Story broke 4/13/2017)

20-year-old Jim Persey, of Anchorage, Alaska, is accused of allegedly raping at least 10 women, some of whom he met through the dating app/social network MeetMe. Persey is said to have started his spree when he was 16 in 2014. He is accused of choking some of his victims into unconsciousness and holding them at knifepoint. Police say he told them he thought this is what women liked.

Police believe there could be more victims that have yet to come forward.

‘If you have information you believe may be relevant to this case, please contact Anchorage Police Detective Chris Thomas at (907) 786-8900. If you want to provide information anonymously, you can call Crime Stoppers at (907) 561-STOP.’

Persey is currently being held on $100,000 bond and is looking at a maximum sentence of 99 years.

He’s a symptom of a larger disease of antisocial troglodytes who believe it’s their God-given right to have sex with any woman they choose that has become prevalent on the internet and they tend to troll places like Tinder and MeetMe for victims.

Mother on MeetMe tells child porn perv “I can’t put things in her mouth she gets sick she’s disabled.”

Ronald Caryl

24-year-old Ronald Caryl, of Silver Springs, New York, has been arrested for allegedly receiving child porn from a woman he met on the social media site/dating app MeetMe. The woman, from Nashville, Tennessee, allegedly offered up herself for sex for money, but Caryl was reportedly looking for someone younger.

To get the real effect of their conversation I’ll just quote it here…

Officials say the woman wrote: “just $300 and u do what u want to me,” to which Caryl replied, “do you have a young girl who could join I’ll pay more…you into young girls?”

The woman responded, “as long as they r 18 and older.”

The defendant responded “Ya I meant younger I’ll pay 6000.”

The woman replied, “I can’t put things in her mouth she gets sick she’s disabled.”

Let’s stop right there for just a moment. While the instigator’s behavior is reprehensible, the mother’s response seems to indicate that she is actually entertaining the thought of allowing her one-year-old disabled daughter to be violated for money. Let that sink in for a moment while the conversation continues.

The defendant went on to say, “show me your daughter.”

The woman then allegedly sent a picture to the defendant.

Caryl continued to press the woman to send naked pictures of her 1-year-old daughter.

What makes this even worse is that Caryl wasn’t even turned in by the woman. He was turned in by someone who worked at MeetMe who contacted the NCMEC who in turn contacted the FBI. So at least MeetMe is reporting some of the

Now if the charges are true then Caryl definitely deserves everything he’s got coming to him, but why have there been no reports of the girl’s mother being arrested. While not even the DOJ’s press release mentions if the picture he received of the girl was explicit, he was arrested on charges of receipt of child porn. If there has been arrest for the distribution of that child porn I’ve been unable to find it.

You know, I remember when MeetMe was known as MyYearbook, and was then touted as a safe social network for high school students. Now, it’s just a low rent mish-mash of MySpace and Snapchat with all the sexual subtlety of Tinder. While it’s nowhere near the level of Kik, MeetMe has its own long history of predators and sex offenders.

UPDATE 1/19/2018: Caryl has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce child pornography.

Fake music producers accused of using Kik and MeetMe to rape girl

Fake music producers accused of using Kik and MeetMe to rape girl

Anavisca and Lopez

Francisco Anavisca and Pedro Lopez have been accused of allegedly posing as music producers online in order to rape a 15-year-old girl from Harris County, Texas. The pair allegedly met the victim on MeetMe and used Kik to talk her into meeting them. Since the victim had aspirations to be a singer she agreed to the meeting.

This is very similar to the modeling scam that I’ve previously posted about where predators will say they’re from a modeling agency in order to meet their victims. Predators posing as someone else in the entertainment industry is not unheard of either. Children who have aspirations of being in any aspect of the entertainment business need to be educated on how people will use that to take advantage of them, not just online, but in the real world as well.

The article from KHOU also has a great quote from a member of the Texas Center for the Missing that all parents need to see…

“I tell parents, it’s not so much to stop them from being on social media. Just don’t be that parent that says, ‘Not my child,’” Melissa Rangel, a case manager for the Texas Center for the Missing said. “Guess what? That’s what the predator is looking for because that means you’re not paying attention.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Suspect indicted in Ohio MeetMe rape

Suspect indicted in Ohio MeetMe rape

Caylan Butcher

26-yer-old Caylan Butcher of Springfield, Ohio, was recently indicted for allegedly raping a 19-year-old woman that he met through the dating and social site MeetMe.com. Butcher is said to have posed as someone else on the site and talked to the victim for a number of weeks before inviting her to his home. He then texted the victim saying that he wasn’t home but his ‘brother’ was, actually referring to himself. He is then accused of raping the woman.

Posing as their own brother or relative is a trick that’s mostly been used by online predators looking for underage girls. Usually, an online predator will pose as a younger child before befriending the victim and either asking them or extorting them into having sex with their ‘brother’. That makes me wonder if Butcher was looking for a younger victim.

Michigan MeetMe molester now charged with child porn

Michigan MeetMe molester now charged with child porn

Jared Andrew Fox

Back in February, 24-year-old Jared Andrew Fox was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl that he met through social network and dating app MeetMe. As is with a large number of these cases Fox was posing as a 14-year-old boy and reportedly convinced his victim to let him come to her house where he raped her.

Earlier this month he was arrested again but this time on child porn charges

“Fox has been engaged in large scale distribution of child pornography,” Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Charles Sherman said in the email. “He has been engaged in a minimum of sending or receiving 383 images and videos of children, some under 5 years old being sexually assaulted by adults and/or other children.”

This discovery was sparked by the initial investigation into Fox’s computers, however Fox was out on bond during this time. He’s now being held on $100K bond. Why is it that suspects who have committed actual child rape are treated less dangerously than people who trade child porn. I’m not trying to defend one or the other but it seems to me that a child rapist should be considered more of a danger than a child porn trader. Rape is one of the most violent and violating acts that someone can commit and when it comes to raping a child it’s doubly as abhorrent. At least make the bonds and sentences equal to that of child pornographers.

Buffalo man accused of using social media for rape, child porn and child prostitution

Robert Pritchett

Robert Pritchett

20-year-old Robert Pritchett of Buffalo, New York is a real piece of work. Not only is he under investigation for child porn and rape charges in which he allegedly used mobile messaging app Kik for, but he’s also accused of prostituting a 17-year-old girl on Backpage and MeetMe.

Federal investigators believe he may have more victims…

While online, Pritchett went by a variety of names including James Heart, James Cooper, James Matthew, Tyler Games, James Allen, Jamez Tommy, Gabriel Michaels, Jess Allen, Thomas Allen, Matthew Allen, James Church, Faith Anderson and Max Heart.

If you have any information in connection to this case, you’re asked to contact the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force at 716.856.7800 or go to http://www.fbi.gov to submit a tip electronically.

Again I would recommend talking to your kids about scum like this and let them know that any adult they don’t know that starts talking to them online is more than likely out to harm them.
