Daniel Vincent Colarusso
UPDATE: Nanny recorded himself raping child, deputies say:
28-year-old Daniel Vincent Colarusso is accused of allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl from Pasco County, Florida. He advertised his services as a nanny on craigslist and a Pasco County woman responded leaving her 4-year-old daughter in his care while she worked. Instead of caring for the girl police say that Colarusso repeatedly raped the girl.
Police say that he also recorded himself raping the girl on his phone. His former landlady is said to have found the SD card where the images were contained.
I realize how hard it can be for single parents to find child care however I implore you to stop looking on craigslist for it. With the low threshold of entry and the perceived notion of anonymity on craigslist it’s just crawling with predators in all sections.
If you won’t listen to me will you listen to the police?
“Finding a babysitter on Craigslist is a bad idea,” Sheriff Nocco said.
Craigslist nanny from University Place accused of raping children:
Craigslist nanny accused of child rape:
26-year-old Jonathan Michael Harris of University Place, Washington, advertised his services on craigslist as a nanny. He’s also been arrested for allegedly raping multiple children. This should not be a shock to anyone.
One mother who hired Harris says that Harris touched her son’s genitals and showed him explicit pictures from his cell phone. That mother went to the woman who recommended Harris to her. She went to her 8 year-old son and asked him about Harris and the boy said that Harris took him to a ‘naked party’ with other children.
Police searched Harris’ home and allegedly found multiple images of child porn including pictures of the 8-year-old.
I’m not trying to blame the victims’ mothers here but why would anybody hire a male nanny off of craigslist off all places? You might as well just pick a name at random off the sex offender registry and have better luck. Are people out there so ignorant to the world around them that they still believe craigslist isn’t rife with child molesters?
It shouldn’t take the rapes of children for this to become common knowledge.
Detectives: Man charged with owning child pornography ran male nanny ads on Craigslist:
First off who is stupid enough to hire a nanny off of craigslist?
Anyway the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office had been looking for 21-year-old Daniel Cortopassi for three weeks. It seems they had allegedly found 278 child pornography videos on his computer.
Cortopassi is said to have advertised his services as a nanny on craigslist. Just who you want watching your kids huh?
Investigators are concerned that Cortopassi may have been contacted in reference to the male nanny ads. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pinellas Sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Unit at (727) 582-6200.
Once again this shows the kind of predators that are trolling craigslist for victims any way possible.
Live-in nanny charged with distributing child porn:
Male live-in nanny charged with distributing child porn:
22-year-old Lubos Albrecht was a live in nanny for a family in Wheaton, Illinois. They hired him after responding to his ad on craigslist. Albrecht passed a background check and had a previous job at a pre-school.
Even with the alleged credentials it didn’t stop Albrecht from allegedly using the open wifi of a neighbor to the family to distribute over 30,000 images of child porn.
Albrecht claims he never molested any children or took any of the child porn images. However this is more than creepy…
He told agents he had taken a photo of his employers’ 7-year-old son, fully clothed, which he then saved on his laptop in a folder labeled “Special,” court documents allege.
This just goes to show that you don’t have to be registered to be a sex offender.
Also he’s looking at a minimum of five years and a max of 20. Again I’ll be very surprised if he actually serves more than 5.
Thanks to Renee for the tip.
SSF: SCAMMERS TARGETING NANNIES ADVERTISING ON CRAIGSLIST:
Scammers are now trying a new angle on the old fake check scam. This time they’re targeting people who are looking for work as nannies. The scammers send the nannies the fake checks saying they’re paying them in advance. Of course the checks are over the amount requested asking the nannies to wire the difference back.
As we should all know by now that’s one of the oldest scams on the internet. Luckily none of the nannies that the article talked to fell for the scam.
