On January 29th at approximately 7pm Hampton, VA police received a 911 call from a babysitter regarding an unconscious child.  The unconscious baby girl, later identified as 11-month-old Natalynn Hamrick, was taken to a local hospital, then transferred to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter in Norfolk for treatment of injuries, considered to be life-threatening.

Natalynn remained in critical condition until February 3rd, when she succumbed to her injuries shortly before noon.  Carliece Hamrick (23), Natalynn’s mother, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of felony child abuse, after she told police she became frustrated with Natalynn while trying to put her in her car seat and shook her.

According to Carliece the incident happened in a parking lot at approximately 3:30 pm on the 29th, but the police were not called regarding the baby’s injuries until she was with her babysitter that evening.

When Natalynn’s father was questioned about how he felt about his wife being charged in the death of their daughter, his reply, “All I can say is mom didn’t do it.”  I wonder who the hell he thinks did it?  I mean after all she did tell the police she shook her, apparently the injuries she sustained must have, indicated that the shaking lead to her death.  I know, I know…. she’s covering for a mystery attacker that approached her in the parking lot, shook her daughter violently and threatened to kill her if she didn’t tell the police it she shook her baby.  Yeah, Yeah that’s it.  Come on dude open your eyes!

According to Natalynn’s paternal grandmother she was a happy baby and joy in her life.
