NRA President Oliver North is an assclown (blames school shootings on Ritalin)

Oliver North

The parade of assclowns continues.

Back when I opposed any form of gun control/gun reform I still wasn’t that much of a fan of the NRA. Not long after Sandy Hook I thought then NRA President Wayne LaPierre was a clueless putz for thinking more police in schools would prevent school shootings. In case you were wondering, armed school resource officers have either been killed or have been the potential targets in various school shootings, Red Lake and Socastee come to mind. So it should come as no surprise that LaPierre’s replacement is just as much of an ignoramus.

In the wake of the Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas, back in May, North was still only the incoming NRA President. Before he even assumed the office North said something that was so incredibly stupid that I had to take keyboard to text area. CNN reported that North said the prescription drug Ritalin, used to treat patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), is one of the causes of school shootings.

“They’ve been drugged in many cases. Nearly all of these perpetrators are male, and they’re young teenagers in most cases, and they’ve come through a culture where violence is commonplace,” he said. “Many of these young boys have been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten. Now, I am certainly not a doctor, I’m a Marine, but I can see those kinds of things happening.”

Yeah, no shit you’re not a doctor. You’re not exactly the ideal picture of a Marine either. The only reason you’re not considered an actual criminal is that your convictions from the Iran-Contra affair were overturned due to a technicality.

Not only is this a grossly misinformed thing for North to say but it’s dangerous as well. It’s another statement made by someone who is in the pocket of the gun lobby that adds further stigma to mental illness. Think about how many people in our country who abide by the ‘from my cold dead hands’ principle that will believe any falsehood told by some gun-toting authority all because they think the gubmint will take their guns if they don’t. This is along the exact same line of people who say that antidepressants cause school shootings. They don’t care how many people suffer from mental health issues as long as gun owners can continue to maintain a small arsenal in their basement compounds or Unibomber-style shacks.

Guns are far from the most important thing in our country. Hell, they’re not even the most important right in The Constitution. Yet zealots like North and his cronies act like guns are the answer to everything. While guns may not be the cause of school shootings, you can’t have school shootings without the shooting part and too many of these guns are legally finding their way into the hands of a multitude of mass murderers.

And just for shits and giggles here is Oliver North’s mugshot.

TX Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is an assclown (blames shootings on gaming)

TX Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is an assclown (blames shootings on gaming)

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick

In the past, I’ve discussed how much of an assclown I think Texas Governor Greg Abbott is, especially when it came to him kowtowing to the conspiracy theorist nuts over military exercise Jade Helm 15. Apparently, assclownery runs in his administration as his Lieutenant Governor, Dan Patrick, must have recently graduated from assclown college.

Shortly after the school shooting at Santa Fe High School, that left ten dead and 13 injured, Lt. Governor Patrick went to the media to blame school shootings on everything but what really causes them. I’m going to go over each of his points and show how wrong he is.

Violent video games

Really? We’re going to have this argument again. While Lt. Gov. Patrick claims that according to psychologists and psychiatrists, they will tell you it leads them to become numb to violence, to have less empathy to their victims and be more aggressive. Bullshit. No credible psychological study has ever linked violent video games to school shootings. Mr. Patrick has fallen victim to the belief that correlation equals causation. I will say that there are a plethora of maladjusted people who are attracted to violent video games, but they’re mostly disturbed, to begin with. However, you can say that about any pastime. Would he say watching sports causes domestic violence? Not in Texas he wouldn’t.

Removing religion from schools

Again I say, really? While I am a somewhat religious person and believe a lot of these kids could use some Ten Commandments in their life, what religion is Mr. Patrick referring to? I’m guessing it’s not Judaism and it sure as hell isn’t Islam. If I had to hazard a guess, I would imagine Mr. Patrick is referring to white Baptists. Just a hunch. I wonder if Patrick even knows Dimitrios Pagourtzis was active in the Orthodox Church. Religion and morality should be taught at home and church, not at public schools. There are plenty of avenues for people to take if they want their kids to have a religious education. It can even be argued that religion may contribute to the behavior of school shooters since a number of them are edgelords who claim to be atheists just so they can rebel against an ambiguous ‘church’.

Abortions and ‘broken’ families

While I don’t talk about it that much anymore, I’m not a fan of abortions because I was adopted. However, I don’t see why Patrick is bringing it up here. He says there have been 50 million abortions but doesn’t give a time frame for them. So, wouldn’t more abortions cause fewer school shootings since fewer school shooters would be born? My thought here is that he’s just playing to his pro-life voter base for no discernible reason other than to kiss their collective asses. However, he brings up a talking point I’ve been hearing since Parkland, that broken homes cause school shooters. I find that interesting since both Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold came from two-parent families as did Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung Hui. Adam Lanza was raised by both parents until they divorced when he was 17. Nikolas Cruz had both parents until they passed away, and more specifically to Santa Fe High, Dimitrios Pagourtzis came from a two-parent household. It’s not the number of parents you have, but the quality of parenting you receive. I also find this kind of ironic since Patrick himself has been divorced. Glass houses and all that.

Irresponsible gun owners

Now this one I kind of agree with, however, Patrick doesn’t go far enough with his assertions. He says that gun owners have a responsibility to be sure their guns are safe at home, but he doesn’t say what should happen to gun owners who aren’t responsible. In a number of school shootings, including the one at Santa Fe High, the shooter obtained their firearms from their parents who didn’t realize their guns were missing until it was too late. Rarely do these negligent gun owners face criminal charges and if they do it’s usually because they’re former felons who are forbidden from owning firearms. What is Lt. Gov. Patrick planning to do with these irresponsible gun owners other than give lip service since even irresponsible gun owners vote in Texas?

Too many entrances to schools

LOL…WUT? Patrick says schools should have the necessary fire exits but then we should funnel students into schools. Yeah, because no one in the history of forever has ever snuck into someplace by using the fire exit. That’s not even taking into account that if someone is determined enough to enter a school armed, fewer entry points are not going to deter them.

Unarmed teachers

Yes, because the answer to school shootings is obviously more guns. Arming teachers is one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard. Let’s have guns that are in the schools on a daily basis that could easily find themselves in the hands of a would-be school shooter. That’s a tremendous idea. Let’s also not forget that teachers are not infallible. While many of them are happy to do their thankless job, there are enough bad apples to make the idea of arming them ridiculous. The only way I would even remotely consider arming a teacher is if they had former military or police experience, otherwise you’re asking for more casualties being caught in the crossfire between an active shooter and an untrained civilian.

The elephants in the room

Lt. Gov. Patrick left out two glaring omissions in his public morality crusade to stop school shootings and they are lax parenting and easy access to guns, especially in a gun-happy state like Texas. That’s because speaking out against those things in the Lone Star State won’t get him re-elected. Remember kids, politicians aren’t acting on your behalf, they’re only acting on theirs.

The bullying myth descends on Santa Fe High

The bullying myth descends on Santa Fe High

In the wake of the school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas, where 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis shot and killed 10 people, the specter of bullying was brought up once again. News station WNCN in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area interviewed a criminologist from a local liberal arts school where she was asked if the Santa Fe High Shooting was reminiscent of Columbine. Considering the shooter constantly wore a trench coat/duster in the Texas heat, had a shirt that said ‘born to kill’ and had explosives at the school that didn’t detonate, the answer to that question should be “Ya think?”.

However, putting that scintillating piece of journalism aside, what I really want to talk about is the bullying issue as it applies to school shootings. The article throws this little tidbit in toward the end.

Dr. Amanda Parker says school shooters are often victims of bullying. According to reports 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis was also bullied.

Now I’m not a criminologist. I never even finished college. So far be it from me to tell Dr. Parker how to do her job. However, I would like to know where she found her data on this matter because as far as I’m concerned that’s simply not true. In my opinion, the vast majority of school shooters were not bullied. It’s just that their antisocial behaviors were misinterpreted as them being victims of bullying. As I have mentioned many times before, this ‘bullying myth’ as I call it, started with Columbine when early reports claimed that the cowards of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were bullied. To this day, almost two decades later, there is still no concrete proof that they were bullied. However, there is documented evidence that they were bullies themselves.

Getting back to the Santa Fe shooting, what exactly was the shooter being bullied about before he committed mass murder? According to NBC News, another student said that Pagourtzis was bullied by his football coaches because he smelled bad. Wearing a long black coat all year long in Texas will do that sometimes, but I digress. When a coach or teacher tells you to get your hygiene in order, that’s not bullying, that’s them trying to prevent bullying.

Pagourtzis’ father even tries to get in on the act claiming that his son must have killed 10 people because he was bullied.

In a phone interview over the weekend with Greece’s Antenna TV, Antonios Pagourtzis said he wished he could have stopped the killing Friday at Santa Fe High School. His voice cracked as he described how he told police to let him inside the school so his son, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, could kill him instead. He said he suspects his son was under pressure, perhaps due to bullying.

This is the same father who allegedly left his shotgun and .38 unguarded so his son could use it in one of the nation’s worst school shootings. So you’ll just have to forgive me if I don’t take him completely at his word.

To further my point, 16-year-old Shana Fisher was one of the first people to be killed at Santa Fe High. Shana’s mother claims that Pagourtzis aggressively pursued her daughter as a romantic interest after being repeatedly told she wasn’t interested. It was a week after Shana publicly rejected Pagourtzis that the shooting took place. So who’s really the bully here?

It’s been almost twenty years since Columbine and we still can’t rid this idiotic trope from the American psyche. Bullying does not cause school shootings. Petulant and entitled children with easy access to guns who can’t emotionally process their own shortcomings cause school shootings.

Ocala school shooter is a lying sack of crap

Ocala school shooter is a lying sack of crap

From the movie Desperado

I originally posted about the Forest High School shooting in Ocala, Florida here. To recap, 19-year-old Sky Bouche carried a sawed-off shotgun inside a guitar case into his former high school, firing a round into a classroom on the 19th anniversary of Columbine, April 20th. Bloodshed was minor as a student was struck in the ankle with minor injuries. At the time of my first post, I said I wouldn’t be opposed to Bouche being sentenced to a mental health facility since he seemed remorseful, surrendered without incident, and supposedly said the date had nothing to do with the shooting. I now take it all back.

After his arrest, Bouche was said to have told police the shooting was a cry for help because of an allegedly tough home life. However, a week after his arrest, it became known that Bouche is a columbiner, or for the uninitiated a fan of Columbine and other school shootings. According to a local news report, Bouche would watch videos about Columbine on YouTube and would leave disparaging comments announcing his future plans.

“I’m thinking about doing my school the same way. I have enough guns and ammo. I have been planning for months, but not sure when to do it,” Bouche allegedly said in the video’s comments section. “Everybody will know my name.”

No, they won’t. Outside of this website and the Ocala area, your name will be quickly forgotten. Instead of being a copycat who will never be remembered, would-be school shooters should try to do something else to try to gain notoriety that doesn’t involve violence. Try music, writing, making movies, or game design. If you’re good at something like that you’ll end up being way more famous than some coward with a gun.

Parkland school shooter getting fan mail

Parkland school shooter getting fan mail

This is a story from March that I had hoped to finish before the end of April but here we are.

You know, after 18 years of dealing with Columbiners, Holmies, and Chupacabras, you’d think I wouldn’t be surprised when some mass murdering reprobate attracts a cult following, yet here we are.

The inhuman scumbag known as Nikolas Cruz, who killed 17 victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, is being sent fan mail and love letters in jail. I thought due to the fact that he killed so many innocent victims, and looks like a rat-faced weasel, that he wouldn’t attract that many murder groupies. I was wrong.

On March 15, a person who identified themselves as an 18-year-old woman from Texas wrote: “When I saw your picture on the television, something attracted me to you.”

“Your eyes are beautiful and the freckles on your face make you so handsome.”

Another woman sent Cruz nine suggestive photos, the newspaper reported.

One woman recently solicited pictures to make a collage to send Cruz.

“I want him to see how many people love and care for him and all the beautiful faces,” she wrote, according to the Sentinel.

I’m sure that’s just the tip of the crazy iceberg. He has also reportedly been sent photos of some of his female fans in various states of undress. Thankfully, the jail has not been allowing Cruz to see his fan mail.

I wonder what they’re calling themselves since every congregation of murder groupies needs to have a name nowadays. I would imagine Cruzers would be too obvious. Then again most of these lovesick loons lack the creative imagination to come up with anything else.

If your son or daughter is one of these Cruz fans, seek help for them immediately. This may not be just a phase as I have witnessed full-grown adults who indulge in this behavior. Once again, I’m reminded of the woman with a family who many years ago posted on a columbiner forum about having Dylan Klebold’s ghost babies. Again, I wish I was making that up. There’s also the copycat syndrome to consider as many of today’s school shooters, and would-be school shooters, were fans of school shooters that came before them.

Parkland shooter’s brother released from jail again

Parkland shooter's brother released from jail again

Zachary Cruz

In my previous post about Zachary Cruz, the brother of mass murdering troglodyte Nikolas Cruz, I had hoped that his latest probation violation would have kept him in jail for at least six months. Zachary Cruz was sentenced to six months probation after being caught trespassing in March on the grounds of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High where his brother killed 17 victims. He reportedly claimed he went to the school to ‘take it all in’. During his first trip to jail, he is said to have bragged about how many girls he and his brother would get since they were ‘famous’.

Instead of being jailed for six months, Zachary Cruz was only jailed for three days as he was released from jail yesterday.

Broward County Judge Melinda Kirsch Brown gave him a gentle warning. “Please do what you know is right and make wise choices,” she said during a brief hearing on Thursday afternoon.

The younger Cruz brother is a ticking time bomb and a judge is just going to give him a pat on the head and release him back to the streets? I wonder if his release has anything to do with a lawsuit a civil rights group has filed on behalf of Zachary Cruz. The group claims Cruz is being ‘harassed’ by law enforcement. Maybe if he wasn’t trying to capitalize on the number of bodies left in his brother’s wake, then the police wouldn’t have a reason to ‘harass’ him.

UPDATE 5/12/2018: Congratulations Virginia. The courts have allowed Zachary Cruz to move to your state. Maybe he can hang out with Kenny Bartley.

West Liberty-Salem High gunman sentenced

West Liberty-Salem High gunman sentenced

Back in January of 2017, 17-year-old Ely Ray Serna entered West Liberty-Salem High School in West Liberty, Ohio, armed with a shotgun. Serna ended up shooting 16-year-old Logan Cole in the chest. Cole required extensive surgeries and had a shotgun pellet lodged near his heart. Thankfully, Logan Cole survived his injuries.

Serna was charged as an adult and was expected to go to trial, however, back in early April of this year, Serna pleaded guilty to attempted murder, felonious assault and inducing panic. Earlier today, Serna was sentenced to 23 1/2 years behind bars.

When asked by the sentencing judge if there was any reason behind the shooting Serna was said to have replied, “I can’t say I was angry about anybody or anything, I didn’t have anybody targeted.” I doubt that’s true at all. No one goes into a school and shoots someone in the chest with a shotgun unless they were angry or deranged. My guess is, after shooting Cole in the chest, Serna lost his nerve, even offering Cole the shotgun and asking Cole to shoot him. If anything, Serna was probably just another copycat looking to be ‘famous’. The problem with so many copycats is their names tend to be forgotten. For every Adam Lanza or Eric Harris, there are several Ely Sernas whose names will be forgotten over time, as they should be.

Parkland shooter’s brother back in jail

Parkland brother's shooter back in jail

Zachary Cruz

In my previous post, I detailed the incidents that led Zachary Cruz to jail and then probation. To sum up, Cruz, the brother of mass-murdering cretin Nikolas Cruz, was arrested for trespassing at the same school where his brother killed 17 people in Parkland, Florida. His reason for being at the school was to ‘take it in’ as he put it. While in jail he bragged about how famous his brother was. Zachary Cruz was released on six months probation after pleading guilty to trespassing.

Tuesday, Zachary Cruz was arrested again. This time for violating his probation. Not only was he allegedly caught driving without a valid license, but police also say that he was within 25 feet of a high school in Lake Worth, Florida.

So far, no reason has been given as to why Cruz was at the school this past weekend, but if I had to hazard a guess, it feels like he really wants to cash in on his brother’s reputation and obviously not in a good way. Hopefully, he’ll have at least a six-month timeout where investigators can get a better handle on his machinations.

Parkland shooter’s brother arrested back in March for trespassing on school grounds

Parkland shooter's bother arrested in March for trespassing on school grounds

Zachary Cruz

Next on the ‘Back in March’ series…

18-year-old Zachary Cruz is the brother of Nikolas Cruz, the mass-murdering assclown responsible for the 17 deaths at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Apparently, Zachary Cruz was so into what his brother did he thought it would be a great idea to go visit the school, in his words, to “soak it in.” Cruz was booked into the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail back in mid-March, and his bond was initially set at $25. You’re reading that correctly, twenty-five dollars.

Once in jail, Zachary Cruz allegedly bragged to the other prisoners about how many girls they could get thanks to his brother’s infamy.

“There is discussion of starting some sort of pen pal or fan club and how many girls he is capable of attracting, referring to his brother Nikolas.”

I’ll be addressing that particular issue soon. But getting back to the matter at hand, Zachary Cruz’s bond was raised to $500,000, a more appropriate amount if you ask me, but I digress. Zachary Cruz’s attorney claimed the bail was set unfairly due to who his brother is. Doesn’t seem unfair to me since he was hanging around the same school where his brother gunned down 17 people in cold blood just to ‘take it all in’.

Zachary Cruz pleaded no contest to trespassing and only received six months probation, so sleep well, Broward County.

The bullying myth descended on Parkland

The bullying myth descended on Parkland

Hey, look at me. I’m working on a story from late March. I’m making progress.

Anyway, as what happens with most school shootings, some have claimed the Parkland shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was bullied. In my opinion, this is the effect of what I call the bullying myth. Not that I think bullying is a myth. Hell, I was bullied relentlessly for 12 years. What I’m talking about is the trope that sprung from Columbine that all school shooters were bullied. Shortly after Columbine happened, there were reports in the press claiming the shooting happened because the gunmen were bullied into it. However, there has never been any evidence to prove that claim, even though many misguided people still cling to that belief.

So it was no surprise to me to hear some people claimed Cruz was bullied, and it was even less of a surprise to see the bullying claims being debunked. As a matter of fact, school shooters typically tend to be antisocial little cretins, to begin with whose strange behavior makes them outcasts. Nikolas Cruz is another example of that. According to a former classmate of Cruz’s, she tried to befriend him even after being bullied by him. In return for her kindness Cruz is said to have verbally abused and sexually harassed her.

This reminds me of the story of Cody Thunder. Back in 2005, he tried to befriend Jeff Weise, who ended up killing nine people at Red Lake High School. Instead of Cody’s offer of friendship being reciprocated, Weise just talked about guns and shooting people. The Red Lake High School shooting took place the very next day.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t reach out to people, but some people just can’t be reached.
