Alex Hribal sentenced for Franklin Regional High stabbings

Alex Hribal sentenced for Franklin Regional High stabbings

Alex Hribal

Alex Hribal was 16 when he stabbed over 20 people at Franklin Regional High School in 2014. Some of the injuries sustained by the victims were so severe that internal organs were exposed and facial features were removed.

Hribal modeled his attack after Columbine by originally planning the attack for the 15th anniversary of Columbine, April 20th 2014. However, there were no classes scheduled for that day so he moved the date up to April 9th, the birthday of Columbine coward Eric Harris. He even told the defense’s psychiatrist he believed he was being “egged on or controlled by Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris from hell.” Bullying was brought up as a motive, but was quickly dismissed by both police and Hribal’s own attorney at the time. He was subsequently charged as an adult for his actions.

Hribal pleaded guilty to 21 counts of attempted murder back in October. Today, he was sentenced to 23-60 years behind bars. At sentencing, Hribal had this to say…

“I feel horrible about everything but there’s no words to use, nothing I can say to make it all better or fix it.”

That’s not stopping his lawyer from appealing the sentence arguing his client should have been tried in juvenile court.

Of course, even though it had been previously dismissed as a motive, his parents tried to deflect blame on to bullying…

Hribal’s parents also addressed the court, saying the case was about bullying and mental illness. His mother broke down on the stand, sobbing and saying Alex was their responsibility and told the judge, “I’m the one that should be sentenced, not him.”

In my opinion they should both be going to jail if his parents knew about his Columbine obsession and refused to do anything about it. Unfortunately, the law doesn’t work like that.

Alex Hribal

Alex Hribal was 16 when he stabbed over 20 people at Franklin Regional High School in 2014. These are no mere cuts and scrapes we’re talking about either. Some of the injuries were so bad they included one that just missed a student’s heart, another where a student’s lip had almost been removed from his face, and one where a student had been cut so deep the student’s liver was protruding from the wound.

Not surprisingly, Hribal was a columbiner and wanted to commit his spree on the 15th Anniversary of Columbine, April 20th, 2014. However, there were no classes being held at the Murrysville, Pennsylvania, high school that day, so Hribal moved up his plans to April 9th, the birthday of Columbine coward Eric Harris.

Hribal was set to be tried as an adult, but this past week the now 20-year-old Hribal pleaded guilty to 21 counts of attempted murder. The prosecution is looking for a 30 to 60 year sentence when Hribal is scheduled for sentencing in January. Technically, the judge could sentence Hribal to 21 consecutive sentences totaling around 800 years but that is unlikely to happen.

Again, I would love to know if the parents of columbiners know their kids have obsessions with mass murderers. At this point, most columbiners weren’t even born when Columbine happened. If your kid has just such an obsession, it’s not just a phase. A phase is them having some kind of hair cut you don’t care for. The hero-worship of mass murderers is a sign that they’re in severe need of mental treatment. They may not turn out to be a killer, but why take that chance?

Mountain View High stabber charged in adult court, is identified

As was mentioned in my previous post, the knife-wielding suspect from the stabbings at Mountain View High School in Utah has been officially charged as an adult and is expected to plead guilty to the fifth and final charge of attempted murder. Since the suspect will now be processed in adult court the 16-year-old has been identified as Luke Dollahite. With the adult charge, he could be sentenced to 10 to life.

For those of you who may think that a life sentence for attempted murder is too much for a 16-year-old, not only did Dollahite show no remorse in his attack, but he was noticeably disappointed that he hadn’t succeeded in killing anyone. One of his victims also received such nerve damage in his arm that it is permanently paralyzed.

You want to cause all this mayhem and violence to other people because you can’t handle your own life? Then you have to pay the price.

Mountain View High School stabber enters into plea, could still face adult time

Mountain View High School stabber enters into plea, could still face adult time

The last time I posted about the stabbing attack at Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah, I mentioned that the 16-year-old suspect was being offered a plea that would keep the suspect in the juvenile system. At the time I lamented that because the suspect was charged with five counts of attempted murder, he should be processed by the adult system.

Earlier today, the suspect pleaded guilty to four charges of attempted murder in the juvenile court. He was sentenced to an indeterminate amount of time in the juvenile system which could see him be held up until his 21st birthday. However, there is the matter of the fifth attempted murder charge.

For the fifth charge, he’s expected to plead guilty to an adult charge of attempted murder. That means once his juvenile sentence is complete he will be transferred to an adult facility. He’s looking at a six to 15 year adult sentence. So far I have not heard why the fifth charge was worth being charged in adult court while the other four were not other than that charge was first-degree felony of attempted aggravated murder with substantial bodily injury.

So potentially, this suspect is looking at 20 years total in detention for the attempted murders of four people just because the suspect wanted to cause as much violence as possible. While it seems like a long time, I’m not sure 20 years is enough time due to the brutality and blatant disregard for life in this violent crime. What do you think?

The Ohio State University active shooter, I mean Muslim terrorist, I mean guy with a knife.

The Ohio State University active shooter, I mean Muslim terrorist, I mean guy with a knife.

As by now we all know about the attack that took place at Ohio State University this past Monday. Thanks to the instant news cycle where it’s better to be first than right, there have been a number of things reported about the attack that either turned out not to be true or downright outlandish. I’m here to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to the attack.

Originally it was reported as an active shooter situation, with the school telling both employees and students on campus to “Run Hide Fight”. To be honest I really don’t have a problem with this even though it wasn’t a shooter at all. If you send out the emergency texts that say a knife wielding man is on campus, that’s really not going to make anyone stay away from the area. Much akin to how some recommend you should yell ‘fire’ instead of ‘help’ when being accosted.

As we know now it was not an active shooter situation at all. 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan ran his car into a crowd at campus injuring many before leaving his car armed with a knife and slashing several people. Before it was over 11 people were injured and Artan was shot and killed by campus police after refusing to drop the butcher knife. Artan was also a student of the university. As you may be able to surmise by the name, Artan was a devout Muslim from Somalia. We’ll get to that in a moment.

For those of you who are always asking non-radical Muslims to denounce attacks like this here it is

Muslim and Somali leaders in Ohio on Monday night called the attack “horrific,” “sickening” and not representative of Islam or Somali culture.

“Today we all came here to condemn this tragic incident,” Horshed Noah, a Somali American imam at one of Columbus’ largest mosques.

Investigators believe that Islam may have been the motive for the attack…

ABC News reported that the post read, in part, “I am sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters being killed and tortured EVERYWHERE. … I can’t take it anymore.”

Just wait for it, we’re going to get there.

As expected the Islamic State, better known as ISIS, hailed Artan as a ‘brother’. While he was not in direct contact with ISIS they did consider him a ‘soldier’.

We’re not there yet, be patient.

Of course the media had to trot out their list of the deadliest school shootings in America even though this wasn’t a shooting. Way to wait for all the facts to come in before calling it a school shooting. That goes double for you, Everytown for Gun Safety, who were already touting their grossly inaccurate claim that there have been 205 school shootings since 2013. I’ve previously busted two of their myths here and here. Yet the media still gives this deceptive organization legitimacy, quoting their exaggerated statistics like they were gospel.

When Artan was once interviewed by the OSU student newspaper he expressed concerns over being a Muslim in America.

“I wanted to pray in the open, but I was kind of scared with everything going on in the media,” he said. “I’m a Muslim, it’s not what the media portrays me to be. If people look at me, a Muslim praying, I don’t know what they’re going to think, what’s going to happen.”

We’re almost there.

Some outlets are reporting that Artan bought a knife at a Home Depot in Washington D.C. although it was probably not the knife used in the attack. This is a non-story that has absolutely no bearing on the crime itself. This sounds more like the media trying to stir up terrorism fears for clicks and ratings.

Some investigators believe that Artan was inspired by Anwar al-Awlaki, a US born Muslim cleric who held a top position in Al-Qaeda before he was killed in a 2011 drone strike. Again I’ll discuss more on this in a moment.

Ok, here’s what you’ve been waiting for. We could argue semantics over the terms terror and terrorism but this wasn’t a terrorist attack in the classical sense. This was hardly any different from the knife attacks at Franklin Regional Senior High School in Pennsylvania, or Mountain View High School in Utah. The only difference between Artan and the other two suspects is that Artan is not only an immigrant but he’s also Muslim. The less enlightened among us used this situation to try to make us fear immigrants and Muslims just because one outlier committed this attack. Artan’s attack was more like a typical school attack that is normally carried out by entitled white kids. Much like those spoiled suburbanites who normally commit these attacks, Artan was emulating someone who had committed violence before him, much like the white kids always seem to claim Columbine coward Eric Harris as a hero and inspiration.

The bottom line is that Artan is not a jihadist as some may have you think. He’s just another entitled loser who felt the need to use violence to deal with his own inadequacies. If he had been a white kid, it would just be another school attack.

Additional details released in Mountain View High School stabbings

According to charges filed in juvenile court, the unnamed suspect in the Mountain View High School stabbings brought not only a knife with him to the school but a bo staff as well. It would seem that the 16-year-old must have thought that he was a Ninja Turtle. He is also said to have allegedly worn a red shirt on the day of the attack since he thought there would be large amounts of blood. I guess he couldn’t decide if he was Raphael or Donatello. The knife he reportedly used was a steak knife so maybe he thought he was Benihana too. Here is an eyewitness account of the attack.

The charges also state that the suspect allegedly targeted his victims at random only to cause as much violence as possible. Once again another entitled loser who thought he’d use violence to make up for his own inadequacies.

The juvenile suspect was ordered to be held in detention until at least this coming Tuesday when he has his next hearing. I hope the Thanksgiving baloney sandwiches were good. Seriously though, the suspect should not only remain in detention until his trial but should be tried as an adult. It’s obvious his intention was to kill, so justice demands that he receives a fitting punishment for his crime and that can only be provided with an adult sentence.

UPDATE 12/3/2016: The suspect has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric competency evaluation, and will be held in juvenile custody until at least his next hearing in February.

UPDATE 12/8/2016: The still unnamed suspect allegedly brought five different knives to school the day of the attack. I have to wonder if it was a set of Ginsu knives.

The suspect was also said to be ‘elated’ during the attack.

UPDATE 2/15/2017: The 16-year-old still unnamed suspect has been ordered to remain in juvenile custody for now. Reports say that he’s been on good behavior since being incarcerated, but is being held due to the severity of the crime. It’s not hard for a sociopath to stay on their best behavior, just sayin’.

UPDATE 3/18/2017: Prosecutors are in the process of negotiating a plea for the suspect, however, if a plea can not be reached the case will be tired in adult court. He’s been charged with five counts of attempted murder. Why is a plea even being offered?

Five injured in Utah school stabbing

Five injured in Utah school stabbing

Five male students were injured after another male student went on a stabbing spree at Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah. The 16-year-old knife wielding student was said to even have stabbed himself in the neck. The suspect was caught after being TASERed by the school resource officer. None of the injuries to the victims appear to be life threatening but some are listed as in critical condition. The suspect has been treated before being released into the custody of police.

So far no motive has been made public. Police say that the suspect was not bullied and the school says that he was a straight A student however, the student is new to the school and had been previously homeschooled.

As usual, I’ll post more details as they become public and as time allows, but is it me or did this story not break into the national news cycle? I only found out about it by accident. I went to some of the major news sites and saw nothing on their front pages about it. Have we become so complacent and numb to school violence that the stabbing of five high school students doesn’t even register with us anymore? For the sake of humanity, I sure as hell hope not.

UPDATE 11/17/2016: The suspect has been charged with five counts of attempted murder and police believe they have discovered the motive. Police are not commenting on that however because “investigators are not medical professionals.” If I were to hazard a guess, I imagine that they think there is some kind of mental illness behind the attack.

Just how violent was the Franklin Regional school stabbing? Extremely violent

Just how violent was the Franklin Regional school stabbing? Extremely violent

Alex Hribal

Yesterday was a pre-trial hearing for Alex Hribal. He’s accused of stabbing 20 students at Franklin Regional Senior High School in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. Hribal has been charged as an adult. The hearing is part of a process to determine if he would be better suited in juvenile court since he was 16 at the time of the crime.

As I’ve posted before Hribal is a columbiner, that is he’s a fan of the Columbine cowards, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. A Psychiatrist for the defense even says as much

Defense psychiatrist Dr. Christine Martone testified Hribal believed he was being “egged on or controlled by Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris from hell.”

At least he got their location right. This doesn’t surprise me as I’ve seen grown people on columbiner forums have convinced themselves that they’ve been visited by the spirits of Harris and Klebold. One woman even claimed that she had ghost sex with Klebold and had his ghost babies. I wish I still had the link to that because it was comedy gold, but I digress.

As with most columbiners, Hribal didn’t have an original thought in hi head when it came to the date of the attack…

The defense experts said Hribal was fascinated with the April 1999 shooting massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado. Klebold and Harris killed themselves after killing 13 others, and Hribal carried out his attack on April 9, Harris’ birthday, only because school was out on his preferred target date, April 20, 2014, the 15th anniversary of Columbine.

Also not surprised about the date either because outside of April 20th the other high unholy days for the columbiners are April 9th and September 11th, the birthdays of Harris and Klebold respectively. Don’t believe me? Just read a few of these. (1) (2) (3)

Of course the psychiatrist for the defense is saying that Hribal is responding well to treatment and expresses remorse for what he did and would fare better in juvenile detention with treatment. Right. While we’re talking about what he did let’s hear from some of his victims who testified at the hearing.

Here’s how the injuries of 17-year-old Greg Keener were described…

One of 20 students stabbed by a high school classmate testified that the wound to his torso was so severe teachers couldn’t apply pressure to stop the bleeding — because his liver was protruding from it.

Then there was 17-year-old Kate Lonergan who described the events of that day like this…

“It was wet, and I could feel that my lip wasn’t attached to my face anymore,” she said.

Of the six victims that testified yesterday most said they didn’t even know him, as is usual in these attacks, and all of them said that they believe Hribal should be tried in adult court.

You’re damn right he should. In a perfect world you don’t get to eviscerate children and see the light of day again. I doubt many of his victims could handle the fact that if he was tried in juvenile court that he’d be out in less than 4 years.

UPDATE 5/17/2016: A judge has upheld the court’s previous decision to try Hribal as an adult.

UPDATE 6/11/2016: The presiding judge has denied the defense team permission to file an appeal to bring the case to juvenile court.

UPDATE 6/23/2016: Hribal’s trial has been set for August 1st.

UPDATE 2/3/2017: Earlier today, a judge ruled that Hribal can’t plead guilty but mentally ill. He either has to plead guilty or go to trial.

UPDATE 4/1/2017: Hribal’s trial is set for August 7th. He faces 21 counts of attempted murder.

UPDATE 7/18/2017: The trial has been pushed back tentatively to September.

Pa. school stabber inspired by Columbine

Alex Hribal

Alex Hribal

16-year-old Alex Hribal has been moved from a juvenile detention facility to a mental health facility. Hribal is facing 21 attempted murder charges for stabbing 21 people at Franklin Regional Senior High School in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, back in April. A psychiatrist for his defense says that Hribal is schizophrenic. A doctor for the prosecution says that Hribal is only depressed because he’s in a correctional facility.

That’s all well and good but what I find more interesting is that during the hearing with the psychologists it was revealed that Hribal’s attack was allegedly inspired by Columbine.

Hribal says he related to how the Columbine attackers felt — and that he felt ostracized in school. He also said he didn’t expect to survive the knife attack, that it would be his message to the world. Hribal even wanted to carry out his attack on April 20, the anniversary of the Columbine tragedy, but moved the date because school was not in session that day.

He’s not mentally ill. He’s just another mutant/columbiner who incorrectly identifies with the Columbine cowards. Hate to break it to you kid but they weren’t ostracized. They had plenty of friends and were pretty popular.

Not everyone gets to be the big man on campus, kids. The sooner you can deal with that the better your life will be. Or you can be like this mutant and be looking down the business end of a several decade prison sentence. The choice is yours.

Franklin Regional stabber: "My work is not done. I have more people to kill"

Police: Franklin Regional suspect said he had ‘more people to kill’:

School Stab-Spree Suspect Alex Hribal Planned to Kill, Cops Say:

Alex Hribal

Alex Hribal

If there was any doubt in my mind that Alex Hribal wasn’t just another entitled and selfish kid using violence to deal with his own inadequacies, it’s been removed with the release of today’s news.

Newly released court papers today state that a handwritten note was found in Hriabal’s locker at Franklin Regional Senior High School. The note is said to have contained the following…

“I can’t wait to see the priceless and helpless looks on the faces of the students of one of the ‘best schools in Pennsylvania’ realize their precious lives are going to be taken by the only one among them that isn’t a plebeian,”

Just another instant of an assailant in an attack against a school thinking that he’s superior to everyone else. People say that there is no real criminal profile of a school shooter, or in this case stabber. I tend to disagree as this ego-maniacal trait seems to be present in most of them.

Other information that was released today was when the assistant principal of the school, Sam King, managed to grab Hribal while he was still wielding the knives. When Mr. King asked Hribal to relinquish his weapons Hribal reportedly responded with…

“No, I am not dropping them, my work is not done, I have more people to kill,”

Because of those two factors prosecutors have upgraded the charges against Hribal to 21 counts of attempted homicide. Hribal has been charged as an adult so those charges seem like they could result in some hefty jail time. With the way things have been going in similar trials lately I doubt he’ll be held past his 21st birthday.
