32-year-old Rade Malkovich, of Brandon, Florida, was arrested in Tampa for allegedly running a fake modeling scam. Malkovich allegedly posted ads on craigslist looking for models. He is said to have represented himself by claiming he worked for a legitimate talent agency. When one woman contacted the actual agency, they had never heard of Malkovich. He was then arrested for allegedly running a phony modeling agency, however, his endgame could have been much worse.
I’ve been posting about the modeling scam for over a decade now. (And here too.) The purpose of the modeling scam is usuall one of three reasons. The first is to lure victims into human trafficking, the second is luring victims into an opportunity for rape or sexual assault, and lastly to try to convince the models to get into porn.
Police aren’t saying if any of these were what Malkovich was planning, but I would lay odds on it being at least one of the three. I was able to stumble across Malkovich’s Periscope account. While it doesn’t have anything illicit on it, it does have a number of videos of shirtless Malkovich. To add to the need of mind bleach moment, some of the videos are entitled ‘Ladies Only’, ‘Bad Bitches Only’ and the ever so classy ‘I Need Head’. Take that as you may.
As the article points out, photographers don’t usually work directly for legitimate modeling agencies and don’t pay $300 to $800 per hour for inexperienced prospects. As with any craigslist ad, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
27-year-old Marcus Wilcox of Tampa, Florida, is accused of allegedly soliciting a 12-year-old girl for sex on the gaming and social app Mocospace. Wilcox reportedly first told the girl he was 19 while the girl said she was 14. Then he is said to have told the girl his true age and the girl then told him that she was 12. Wilcox then asked the girl for sex. Thankfully, the 12-year-old girl was actually an investigator for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. When Wilcox’s car was searched police found a tube of ‘personal lubricant’.
I wonder if the Florida Coalition of Pedo-Defenders will rally behind Wilcox. I have no doubt they think this is nothing more than entrapment and a cash grab. It’s actually neither and one more predator is off the streets.
44-year-old James Beck, of Tampa, Florida, was killed this past Tuesday after trying to sell his 16-year-old son’s dirt bike on craigslist. Beck and his son met a pair of individuals when one of them opened fire on Beck, striking him twice in the neck. The two suspects then ran off with the dirt bike. Beck unfortunately died on the scene from his injuries right in front of his son.
Police have arrested 16-year-old Ramontrae Williams and 17-year-old Dontae Johnson, and charged them with first-degree felony murder and robbery.
Sadly, I don’t have much else to add here. Craigslist should be considered too dangerous for anyone to use anymore. While you, the reader, may have found the perfect deal on craigslist, and have never had a problem, the number of people killed through craigslist is now in the triple digits. Craigslist has become nothing more than a dangerous game of Russian Roulette, and too many people are becoming victims to a deadly game that they don’t even realize they’re playing.
One of the arguments I keep hearing in defense of Backpage and their ads for prostitution is that the girls are safer online than they are on the streets. But are they really?
Police in Tampa, Florida, have arrested 19-year-old Ikeem Alonzo Taylor and 20-year-old Corey Terrell Coleman for the alleged rape and robbery of two women who were advertising on Backpage as escorts. Taylor is said to have raped and robbed the women and gunpoint while Coleman acted as his driver.
It sounds like these women may have been ‘independent contractors’ but God forbid if either of them had pimps. Do you think that the pimps would care if they lost money because they were raped? If anything they’d probably face additional violence from the pimp and this is the cycle of violence that Backpage perpetuates by keeping the adult section open. It’s not free speech that Backpage is really worried about, it’s their blood money.
24-year-old Austin Hamilton of Tampa, Florida was recently arrested for the beating death of his girlfriend’s one-year-old son, Sincere Williams. A coroner’s report said that Sincere died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Hamilton allegedly confessed to police that he struck Sincere ten times with a belt and dropped him on his head after Sincere urinated on him during a diaper change.
I was spared diaper changes since my (step)kids were out of diapers when I got married. However my dad told me that I was quite the surprise geyser when I was in diapers. Considering my dad was not the most calm man I ever knew how much rage did Hamilton have to possess in order to do that to one-year-old child? He would have had to have either taken off his belt or gone to get a belt before striking the child which for most people would have been enough time to give them pause about what they were about to do. Also Hamilton had a child from a previous relationship so I doubt this was a new experience for him.
Sincere’s mother was working at the time of the beating. The couple had known each other for years and she thought Hamilton would be fine with the children since he had children of his own. However Hamilton in the past has been charged with battery, domestic violence and had been investigated by CPS. All charges were dropped but you have to think that sometimes where there’s smoke there’s a raging inferno of a forest fire sometimes.
There’s nothing wrong with screening the background of your significant other. It may save your children’s lives and yours. One possible service is instantcheckmate.com which has an A- rating by the Better Business Bureau although your results may vary. You may also want to contact your local police or courts for records availability.
Thanks to Jaz for the tip and CW for the assist.

27-year-old Jesse Lewis had an interesting way of getting women to allegedly prostitute for him. According to Tampa police at least on one occasion he choked and beat a homeless woman, made her call him ‘daddy’ then advertised her on Backpage. Lewis was said to have kept all the money made by the woman.
The victim was able to escape Lewis after he fell asleep. Most women in her situation are not so lucky.
According to reports Lewis tried defending himself that he finds promiscuous women but doesn’t get involved in how they make money. That’s because they don’t make any money because he keeps it all. Either that or he just beats homeless women for fun.
So the next time you ‘hobbyists’ go on about consenting adults try to keep this story in mind. This is the rule and not the exception. Also, do I need to mention that Backpage continues to make money off of cretins like this? I will keep mentioning it until it stops.
22-year-old India Couch (Really? Is your sister’s name Bangladesh Sofa?) of Tampa, Florida was arrested for allegedly beating a 1-year-old in her care with a sandal until welts were raised on the child’s body.
The reason for such rage was when the child was left unattended the kid went through Couch’s purse, found some of her weed, and ate it. Rather than taking the kid to the hospital for ingesting the illegal drug she must have thought it was better to beat the child for depriving her of her buzz.
The child was not the only one to feel her reefer wrath. when an adult tried to protect the child Couch allegedly beat the man with a 5 pound barbell on the chest and back.
If I didn’t know any better I would swear that’s the behavior of a *gasp* drug addict. But people keep telling me that you can’t get addicted to weed and that it’s a victimless crime.
I would argue that the 1-year-old child disagrees.
25-year-old Pasquale Holt pleaded guilty to prostituting children at the 2009 Super Bowl in Tampa on craigslist. His cohort, 31-year-old Manuel A. Walcott, was convicted last week. Both are looking at 10 to life in federal prison.
At the time of their arrests they were prostituting an 18-year-old and a 14-year-old who said that she was 17.
More than likely the sentence will be closer to 10 years than life which is still a joke. These child trafficking scum need to be at least sentenced to a mandatory life sentence. Not to mention that craigslist still turns a blind eye to the child prostitution that takes place on their site.
30-year-old Latosha Yeadon was arrested in Tampa, Florida for turning tricks while she left her 3-month old baby in her car. The window was cracked an inch and luckily it wasn’t a mad hot day that day in Florida.
Luckily a maintenance worker saw the baby in the car and was able to pry the window open.
Since the baby was 3-months-old it makes me wonder how long she waited after birth before she started turning tricks again or was she giving handjobs in the hospital parking lot after delivery.
Yeadon says she arranged to meet her client over the internet. Craigslist maybe?
That’s Leroy Fillmore of Tampa, Florida. He was arrested during an undercover drug deal in which he brought two of his kids too.
when police arrested him he tried hiding his crack in his ass. I guess because no one has ever hidden drugs there before. That was sarcasm. That’s like hiding a joint in a cigarette pack, it’s the first place police look.
