Coroner: No cause of death yet for Belleville infant:
Back in November Elyse Mamino of Belleville, Ill. was accused of giving birth to her daughter in a bathroom at a family party and trying to drown the newborn in the toilet. Luckily the child survived. The state thought it was a good idea to return the baby to Mamino after the baby was released from the hospital.
Normally in these types of stories we’d be reading about how the baby was injured at the hands of the mother but not this time.
While investigating the attempted murder police found the remains of another baby in Mamnio’s residence. The date of death was determined to be sometime in 2007 but the cause of death has not been determined yet.
She’s pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charges.

Peach County inmate leaves newborn in toilet:
25-year-old Cornelia Kornegay was in a holding cell at the Peach County Law Enforcement Center in Georgia, aka county lockup. Wednesday morning she notified the deputies that “My baby’s in the toilet,” According to deputies she said it ‘matter of factly’. It turns out that Kornegay gave birth in the holding cell to a 7 pound 6 ounce baby girl but left the baby face down in the toilet. Luckily deputies were able to retrieve the baby quickly and she’s doing fine.
Kornegay did not tell deputies she was pregnant and by looking at the mugshot I can see how deputies may not have known. Kornegay was in jail for violating probation on a misdemeanor offense. She claims she hid the pregnancy because she didn’t want her parents to know.
Think about that for a second. If it wasn’t for the fact that she was in jail she might have dumped her baby somewhere and no one may have ever found out about it.
And if you’re 25 why are you hiding your pregnancy from anyone?
Kornegay is now facing felony child abuse charges.

Mother Accused Of Drowning Baby In Toilet:
33-year-old Kristen Gibson of Sacramento, CA has been arrested in the death of her newborn which happened back in July. Police say Gibson intentionally drowned the newborn in the toilet shortly after giving birth.
Investigators say she drowned the newborn after severing the umbilical cord. The baby was full term and weighed 8 pounds.
I’m not a fan of abortion but the reality is it’s readily available in this country and in California. I’ll never understand why someone goes to the trouble of carrying a baby full term only to kill the baby seconds after it takes its first and possibly only breath.
